RYAN, Sarah Anne M.A., On Wednesday March 3, 2004 in St. Catharines, Sarah has joined her husband George (1946) and her parents, Patrick and Sarah Flynn, as well as her brothers John, Charlie, Terence, Tom, Paul and sisters Delia, Alice, Margaret an d Cathy in God's Kingdom. Survived by her son George and his wife Jean, grandchildren Patrick (Monica), Kelli, Tara (Troy) and great grandchildren Cecilia, Patrick, Daniel, Steven, Gerard, Mary-Kate and Matthew. Sarah was the beloved "Aunt Sally" to over 100 nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was especially close with nephew Michael Gilgunn of Fonthill and niece Patsy Flynn of Nelson B.C. and Joseph Gilgunn of Victoria B.C. Sarah was born in Rossinver Co. Letrim Eire July 4, 19 13. She graduated from Glasgow University and taught mathematics at Holy Cross High School in Hamilton Scotland. In 1964 she immigrated to Canada and continue teaching until her retirement in 1978, when she went to Cameroon and continued teaching. Fr iends will be received at The PATRICK J. Helen Louise Martin 1920-2004 Helen Louise (Fownes) Martin, 83, of Steeves Mountain and formerly of Weldon passed away peacefully on March 3, 2004 at the Moncton City Hospital with her loving family by her side. Helen was born in Hopewell Cape on July 18, 1920 the daughter of the late Lester and Viola (Taylor) Fownes. Helen was a homemaker, her family was her life. In her earlier years, she was a former member of the Weldon Baptist Church where she was very involved teaching Sunday School, participating in Bible Study and was Chairperson of the Social Committee for many years. Then, later in life, after moving to Steeves Mountain, she became a member of the Steeves Mountain Baptist Church. Helen loved to cook and baking was her passion. She was a very giving person who always put others first. She was known for her warm and tender heart. Helen had a true gift of hospitality. She will always be remembered for her kind and caring manner. Her family feel blessed to have had such a role model in their lives and will continue to cherish her memory. She also touched several people in her life and had many dear friends. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who will be deeply missed by her loving daughter, Gail Dryden (Willis) of Steeves Mountain; five grandchildren, Terry Dryden (Susan) of Steeves Mountain, DeeDee Whiteley (Chris) of Steeves Mountain, Shandi Mitton (Jeremy) of Steeves Mountain, Heather Walker (Bruce) of St. Andrews, Holly Wynter (Leonard) of Chicago; seven great grandchildren, Logan, Robert, Zackery, Kyle, Kaylah, Madyson and Julie; her only niece, Betty Collins (Charles) of Riverview. CAMPBELL, GRACE KATHLEEN - The death of Mrs. Grace Kathleen Campbell, age 105 years, of the Carlton Kirk Nursing Home, wife of the late Eldon Campbell, occurred peacefully on Wednesday March 4, 2004 at her residence. Born September 10, 1898 in Tracey, NB she was the daughter of the late Maynard and Eveletta Seely. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Grace had worked for many years with the Ganong Factory in St. Stephen. She enjoyed life to its fullest, and will always be remembered by her stories and laughter. She is survived by her children Eldon Campbell (Lottie), Jackie Campbell (Ginny) and Jean Watters all of Saint John; 13 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, one brother Maxwell, three sisters Mary Ritchie, Vivian Tapley and Edna Tyczkowski. Resting at White's Chapel, Plaster Rock with visiting hours on Friday March 5 from 2-4 & 7-9PM. ROGERS, CHRISTOPHER - At the Ridgewood Veteran's Hospital on March 1, 2004 Christopher Rogers of Saint John, husband of 60 years to Almeda (Parks) Rogers. Born in Silver Fox Bonavista Bay Newfoundland he was a son of the late David and Frances (Collins) Rogers. Before his retirement he was a Nursing Orderly at the D.V.A. Hospital and for five years he was employed with the Corp of Commissionaires. He served overseas with the Royal Navy for six years and was a member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch #64. Surviving in addition to his wife Almeda are two sons Brian and his wife Monique of Saint John, Terry and his wife Keri of Langley B.C., two daughters Eva Sears and her husband Leslie of B.C., Deborah Lee and her husband Gordon of Nerepis, fourteen grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren. Predeceased by two sons David, Mark Anthony and great grandson Joshua Lee. Resting at the Castle "Fallsview" Funeral Home 309 Lancaster Ave. (634-1701). Né à Rivière-du-Loup en 1910, il était fils de feu Georges Malenfant et de feu Emilia Dubé. M. Malenfant était fondateur de l’épicerie J.H. Malenfant de Saint-Léonard. Il était un passé-grand chevalier des chevaliers de Colomb, 3e degré, du conseil 2743 de Saint-Léonard. Il était le dernier survivant d’une famille de onze enfants. Il a été précédé par un fils, Roger. Il laisse dans le deuil deux fils, Maurice de Saint-Léonard et Camille (Peggy) de Fredericton, deux filles, Cécile Martin de Grand-Sault et Suzanne McClure (Claude) de Sept-Îles, Québec, six petits-enfants, Stéphane, Alexandre, Christina, Annie, Michel et Laura, ainsi que des neveux et nièces. La dépouille mortelle est exposée au salon Guy O’Regan, 83, rue Saint-Antoine à Saint-Léonard. BOURQUE, Joseph Thomas - 15 Spring St., Amherst, passed away March 3, 2004, peacefully after a brief illness. It was his 95th birthday. He was the great, great, great, great, great, great, great-grandson of Antoine Bourg who immigrated to Nova Scotia from Loudun, France in 1632. He joins his parents, Wilfred and Celina (Boudreau) Bourque: brothers, Alfred, Edward, Francis, Adolphe; sisters, Mary, Jean, Margaret, Alice, Rose, Ella and Elizabeth; and his beloved wife Betty (LeBlanc) whom he missed and looked forward to being with again. He was certain of a grand birthday celebration with those he loved! From the age of 16, he worked in Christies Trunk and Baggage, and made many friends there over the years. One hiatus in work was the three years he spent overseas as an R.C.A. Field Gunner, where he joined the 19th Field Regiment for the third wave on Normandy in June of 1944. Though he saw much action, Joe's war stories were of friends he made in Holland, and the lifelong love of bagpipes he discovered in Scotland. Joe traveled the Maritimes throughout his life, first by motorcycle with "the bike gang", then bringing his family on many memorable vacations, discovering hidden gems from the Cabot Trail to the Gaspe. With camera ever ready, he leaves behind a wonderful collection of pictorial memories. Joe was first and foremost a family man, and lived a life centered around his siblings, his ever-smiling wife, and children with friends in tow. There were two things central to Joe's life, a love of music which he shared with all who entered his home, and "Yokum Inn", the cottage he built at Tidnish Head, where family hearts are firmly ensconced. These joys will continue on for many years. Joe is survived by his daughters, Marion Bourque, Toronto; Phyllis Greer, Dartmouth; Jeanne Bourque, Amherst; grandsons, Scott and Matthew Greer. MARTINEAU, Min On February 26, 2004 Min Martineau of Edmonton passed away at the age of 79 years after a courageous battle with cancer. She will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her husband Joe. They were to celebrate 60 years of marriage in May. Min also leaves behind her sons, Greg of Edmonton and Dennis (Cindy) of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren, Stephanie (Dwayne) Stang, Rob, Jaqueline, Megan and Drew; sister, Dot Tyrell of London; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many special friends. GIBBONS, Helen - On February 26, 2004, surrounded by the love of her family, Helen quietly left her earthly life for the heavenly home of her Creator. Her wonder and anticipation of seeing "the face of God" has now been realized. Helen was predeceased by her parents Jack LeGree and Helen Shea, her husband Arthur and her only sister, Phyllis Shaughnessy. Helen will be deeply missed by all her children; Paul Gibbons and his wife Kathleen, Mark Gibbons and his wife Christine, John Gibbons and his partner Helen and Mary Werner. She also leaves behind four wonderful grandchildren; Robbie Gibbons, Ryan Gibbons, Sterling Gibbons and Brian Werner. Mother's life was blessed with many nieces and nephews; Colleen Shaughnessy and Marguerite Connolly, (her guardian angels) Claudia MacInnes, Michael Shaughnessy, Catherine Cowan, and Caryle Connolly (not just a niece but Mom's very good friend.) Helen leaves behind many great nieces and nephews; Lyle and Dana Jacobson, Craig MacInnes, Scott Cowan and Julia Yourkin. Thank-you Dana for your special nursing care when Mom was in hospital. A special thanks goes to Father Joseph Darzycki who was present with us at Mom's death. You were a great spiritual comfort for all of us. God bless you Mom. You will remain in all our hearts forever and life will never be the same again for any of your family without your loving presence in our daily lives. May you now "Rest in Peace." WHEELER, RUSS PRICE The death of Russ Price Wheeler of Boiestown, occurred suddenly at home on March 3, 2004. Born in Priceville, NB, he was a son of the late Melvin J. and Edith D. (Price) Munn. Mr. Wheeler was a professional singer, and entertainer, a member of Miramichi Board of Trade, the Royal Canadian Legion Normandy Branch #78, Boiestown, and the New Brunswick Film Co-op. He enjoyed writing music and telling tales about his beautiful Miramichi. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth Munn; two daughters, Melissa Munn (Al Larsen) of Terrace, BC and Lenore Watling (Scott Fitzgerald) of Newmarket, ON; two grandchildren, Bradley Watling (Lee Ann) and Sara Watling; two sisters, Edith Symonds (Fraser) of Noonan, NB and Flossie Lovelace (Lawrence) of Taxis River, NB; sister-in-law Norma Bruce; three brothers, James Munn, Carl Bruce (Joyce) and Lawrence Bruce all of Taxis River, NB; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters, Elsie Curtis and Kathleen Getson; two brothers, Perley Munn and Blake Bruce. Visitation will take place at the Miramichi Valley Funeral Home, 7681 Route 8, New Bandon, on Friday evening from 7 to 9 pm and Saturday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm.
