Born in Fredericton, Larry was the son of the late J. Franklin and Gladys (Dunphy) Dow. Survived by his loving wife Ruth Eleanor (Marney) Dow; Daughter, Nancy Dow of Fredericton; NB; Sons Michael (Beatrice) Dow of Rothesay, NB, and Stephen (Denyse) Dow of Unionville, ON; Grandchildren, Peter, Marianne, Kieran and Natalie; Sister Mary Cox of Saint John, NB, Brother Kenneth (June) Dow of Montreal, PQ. BAILLIE, DANIEL JOSEPH - Daniel Joseph Baillie, born February 26, 1914, eldest of 3 children of the late Agnes and Peter Baillie of Glasgow, Scotland. Educated at Mung's Academy, Glasgow, graduated as Marine engineer. Served in the Merchant Navy during WW II. Predeceased by his brother Peter, and his first wife Vera (Tierney) in 1974. Immigrated to Montreal, Canada in the early 50's where he was employed as Chief Engineer with Scott Misner Shipping until he retired in 1979. Twice blessed in love with his second wife Gladys (Collett) Jacobsen December 15, 1979, to January 21st, 2003. Danny and Gladys moved to Rothesay, NB, December 15th, 2000. Survived by sister Agnes Macdonald, nephew Val Macdonald (Margaret), niece Ann Macdonald, all of Glasgow, Scotland, nephew Earl Chisolm (Judy) of Florida, two step-sons Rev. Wally Collett (Iris) of Quispamsis and Bernie Jacobsen (Barbara) of Fall River, NS. HENDERSON, MRS. LINDA DIANNE - The death of Mrs. Linda Dianne Henderson, loving wife of Kenneth Henderson, of the St. John St. Stephen Nursing Home, occurred on Wednesday March 3, 2004 at her residence. Born September 22, 1946 in Hamilton, Ontario, she was the daughter of the late Amos and Eileen (Gordon) Corbett. Linda enjoyed playing darts, dancing, clogging, she also enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and all sports. Besides her husband Kenneth she is survived by her children Kenneth Henderson (Barb) of Sudbury, Ontario and Tanya Henderson (Kaare Bennett) of Sussex, NB; brother Bob Corbett (Veronica) of Branford, Ontario; three grandchildren, Ryan, Kyle and Kyanna; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from Holy Trinity Anglican Church, St. Martin's on Thursday from 7-9 pm and Friday 10 am - 12 pm. MOLLINS, KATHLEEN E. - The death of Mrs. Kathleen E. Mollins of Cosy Lake Road, Saint John, NB, and formerly of 368 Millidge Avenue, wife of the late Richard Donald Mollins, occurred on Wednesday, March 3, 2004 at her residence. Born at Kentville, NS on July 24, 1914, she was a daughter of the late Emery Eric and Esther Mae (Schofield) Mapplebeck. She had been a resident of Saint John since 1930. She had formerly been employed with H. L. Titus at Titus Bakery at Main Street and Prince Edward Street for over ten years. She was a member of Main Street Baptist Church and the Martha Spragg Missionary Society. Mrs. Mollins was a member of the Saint John General and the Saint John Regional Hospital Ladies' Auxiliary. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by a son, James E. (Norma) of Saint John; a daughter, Lynne J. Gibson (Wayne Ewart) of Saint John; five grandchildren, James Gibson (Angela), Janet Quinlan (Ron), Terri-Lynn Mollins (Paul Fooks), Lori Ann Hayes (Tim) and Richard Mollins (Tammy); nine great-grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces. Natif de Saint-François-Xavier de Rivière-du-Loup, M. l'abbé Pelletier a été ordonné prêtre le 28 octobre 1943. De 1944 à 1953, il fut auxiliaire du Collège de Lévis. De 1954 à 1973, il fut aumônier de la marine militaire à Halifax, Nouvelle Ecosse. Il a été prêté au diocèse de Hauterive de 1973 à 1977 et il a été curé de Saint-Jean-Deschaillons de 1977 à 1979. St-Clément, Beauport (autoroute de la Capitale, sortie Bourg-Royal no 318) le vendredi 5 mars 2004 de 19 h à 22 h. He was a very special uncle to Marguerite and Marc (Dawn) McMillan of Halifax and Dartmouth; Louise (Fred) Burke of Truro; Mary, Jim and Don (Doris) McMillan of Quebec, and Gordon and Vi (McMillan) Hill of Ontario. Members of the navy during the 1950s and 1960s will remember Padre Regis as the Roman Catholic Chaplain on HMCS Ontario, in Shearwater, and Shannon Park. In the 1970s he served as command Chaplain on the west coast. Following his career with the navy, he served as parish priest in Deschaillons and Port Cartier, Que. Not a man to retire, he continued to serve his people well into his 80s as part-time priest and chaplain to the hospital and nursing homes in Riviere du Loup, Que. Father Regis was thrilled to return to Nova Scotia last May to relive his navy days and to see many of his old friends during the deconsecration ceremony of Shannon Park Chapel. He was predeceased by sisters, Gilberte and Anatole; brother, Raymond. A mass to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, March 6, in Beauport, Que., with burial at a later date in Riviere du Loup. HYNES, Lt Col (ret) G. (Gord) 1931-2004 March 2, 2004 It is with the deepest sadness that I announce the passing of my beloved husband of 52 years, and the father of our three children of whom he was very proud. Kevin Neil (Virginia), Colleen Margaret, Capt. Brian Thomas (Carmen), and his four wonderful granddaughters, Stephanie, Meaghan, Kaitlyn, and Isabelle. Gord was the son of the late Herbert and Margaret Hynes of Montreal. He won a scholarship to Montreal Catholic High and upon graduating joined the RCAF. After Officer training, it was off to Nav School in Summerside, PEI. He spent most of his career in Maritime command with VP 404, 405 and 407 Sqns. He was also Commanding Officer of VP 449 and 404 in Greenwood, NS. Gord also served as the Canadian Exchange Officer with the RAF 120 Sqn in Kinloss, Scotland and MMOTU in Cornwall, England. He retired after 37 years of service. Gord was always involved in hockey, as a player, and a coach in Minor Hockey, in Greenwood, Toronto, and Ottawa. While at Greenwood he was the President of Minor Hockey and a founding member of the ice rink in Kingston, NS. We retired to Comox in 1987 where he became very active in his new career. Gord became an artist of some prominence. He has paintings in homes across Canada, Australia, USA and South Africa. He was President of the local chapter of the F.C.A. for 4 years and continued painting until his last year, when cancer started to win. He lost his valiant battle after a 3 year fight. Gord passed away peacefully at St. Joseph's Hospital in Comox, BC. Memorial prayer service will be held at Comox Valley Funeral Home at 1930 hrs (7:30 p.m.) on 5 March. RUSSELL, BRIAN - The sad and unexpected death of Brian Russell, husband of Frances H. (Parry) Russell occurred February 28, 2004 on board his ship the C/S Bold Endurance off the coast of Alaska, USA. Born in Stoke On Trent, England, he was the son of the late William S. and Doris (Daniels) Russell. The sea was Brian's life, he was 16 years old when he first set sail and continued for over 40 years. Brian was chief engineer aboard the ship S/C Bold Endurance at the time of his death and also worked for British Petroleum, Saf Marine, Kent Line, Algoma Marine and Secunda Marine. Brian loved to golf when at home, he was an active member of the Westfield Golf and Country Club. He was an energetic and enthusiastic walker, taking his little dog along with him. Brian also was a computer buff, who spent many enjoyable hours on the web. He was a family man and his sudden passing will be a great loss to his many family, friends and shipmates. Brian is survived by his wife Frances, one brother Alan Russell (Pamela), Burlington, Ont., one stepson David Rogers, St. Andrews, NB, two stepdaughters, Linda Robichaud (Brian), Long Reach, NB, Carol-Ann Duplessis (Gordon), Saint John, NB, four step grandchildren, David and Tracey Robichaud, Ryan Duplessis and Jeffery Rogers, three nieces Rosalind (Dan) Tomson, Helen (Hugh) Corbett and Catherine (Ross) McCullough. ELIZABETH L'ANGLAIS (nee BIDULKA) Peacefully, after a long battle with Wilson's Disease, on March 1, 2004, Elizabeth passed away at the age of 48 years. She was predeceased by her maternal and paternal grandparents, and aunt and uncles. Elizabeth is survived by her husband Paul; daughter Marie; and son Daniel; parents, Morris and Rose Bidulka (Winnipeg); brothers, Jerome (Janora), nephews, Kyle and Christopher (Edmonton); Marvin (Linda), nephews, Mason and Logan (Calgary), Jim (Karen), niece Andreya, nephew Dylan (Calgary). She also leaves a sister Evelyn (Jay) Campbell (Winnipeg), and several aunts and uncles and numerous cousins. Elizabeth was born in Prince Albert, SK and completed her education there. She enjoyed life to the fullest, and was known for her musical ability, especially her beautiful voice. She had a fondness for children and volunteered in various activities. Upon relocating to Edmonton in 1977, a year later, Elizabeth met the man of her dreams, and married a year following. In 1986, they moved to northern Manitoba and raised their two children, where they lived until 1997. Liz's illness began to progress rapidly, so a move to Winnipeg was imminent for medical reasons. The family extends their thanks to the staff at the Health Sciences Centre, especially the G-D5 Ward, as well as to Fr. Fred Olds for his compassion. A celebration of her life will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 5 at St. Bernadette Roman Catholic Church, 820 Cottonwood Rd., with Fr. Fred Olds presiding. Interment will take place at St. Boniface Cemetery. Viewing will be held at 12:30 p.m. until the time of service. Liz will be greatly missed, but always remembered for her strength, perseverance, purity of hears, and sense of humour. VRANCH, Ken It is with great sadness that the children of Kenneth John Vranch announce the sudden death of their father in Ottawa, Tuesday, February 24, 2004 in his 88th year. DOMINIC (DON) VALENTINO VERTOLLI Vertolli - It is with great sorrow that the Vertolli family announce the death of Dominic (Don) Valentino Vertollo, at the age of 82. Don passed peacefully with family by his side on Tuesday, February 24th. He was predeceased by his wife Clair, parents Nora and Emmanuel and his brother Norman (Dorothy). Devoted to his family, he leaves to cherish his memory his daughter Carol-Ann (Dave), son Don Jr. (Paulette), sisters Liz (George) and Jean. Also his good friend Helen O’Brien. Don adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be missed by his many nieces and nephews whom he kept in contact with. Don was a member of the KL Legion Branch 87, The Loyal Order of Moose, and The Italo Canadian Club. In spring, interment will take place at the KL Cemetery where he will be laid to rest by his wife Clair.
