MYRONYK, Mary (Hudz) Our beautiful mother, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 11, 2004 at the age of 90. Dearly beloved wife of the late Nykola Myronyk (1977) and the late Stefan Hudz (1978). Devoted mother of Peter (Claudia), Helen Wallingford (Graham), Rose Albert (Leo), June Peter (Doug) Jim (Tina) and the late Thomas (Mona) (Jennifer). Outre son épouse et ses parents, il laisse dans le deuil une fille, Valérie (ami Dany Dugas) de Grande-Anse; deux fils: Julien et Olivier, tous deux de Grande-Anse; une soeur, Pauline (Sylvio Doiron) de Grande-Anse; deux frères: Fernand «Zak» (Louise Godin) et René (Bernise Bass), tous deux de Grande-Anse, ainsi que plusieurs neveux, nièces, oncles, tantes, beaux-frères et belles-soeurs. Les cendres seront exposées à compter de 19h, le jeudi 15 janvier, au salon LeGresley de Grande-Anse. WHITMORE, Katrina "Kay" (nee Jossul) In loving memory of Katrina "Kay" Whitmore (nee Jossul), 81 years of Sudbury, who passed away peacefully while visiting Sault Ste Marie and surrounded by her loving family on Friday January 9th, 2004. Born in Manitoba and a long time resident of Sudbury, Kay was an active member of St. Luke's United Church. She was an avid gardener and a wonderful cook. He was employed at Stelco, Hilton works as Electrical Engineering Supervisor, Page Hersey Works as Electrical Engineering Supervisor and at Welland Tubes as Superintendent of Maintenance. He retired in 1993. Ho ward was presently the Business Manager of Your Local Productions Inc. of Welland. Howard was a Boy Scouts of Canada Leader of 44th, Hamilton and 1st Aldershot Troops. He was the last leader of the Queen's Scouts and was a Scout's Commissioner. Volun teer activities included local school and theatre activities in the Niagara Region. He was a founding member of Theatre Aquarius, Hamilton on the Publicity Team of Thorold Community Theatre and has been involved with Port Colborne Operatic Society of Port Colborne. His passion for gardening and the environment were evident in his organic gardens and pesticide-free lawns. A special thanks to Dr. Hartman and the special team of Palliative Care workers, nurses and personnel who made it possible to let Howard spend his last days at home. MURDOCH, Herbert Melville (Mel) The Murdoch family announces, with sadness, the passing of Herbert Melville Murdoch of Kirkland Lake on the 11th day of January, 2004 at the age of 90 years. Mel was born November 19, 1913 in Tiny Township, Simcoe County, ON. He moved to Larder Lake in 1937 and then to Kirkland Lake in 1970. Mel spent over 50 years in the car rental business and was a founding member of Tilden Rent A Car and Murdoch Group Inc. Mel was predeceased by infant son William; brothers Creighton and Gilbert Murdoch and sister Grace McCoy. He is survived by his loving wife Hazel (nee Reynolds) of 65 years; son Douglas (Gail) Murdoch of Kirkland Lake; daughter Kathleen (John) Knight of Sudbury and son Robert (Beverly) Murdoch of Kenora; grandchildren Kerri (Scott) Crawford of Ottawa, Robert (Carole) Murdoch of Kirkland Lake, David (Barb) Murdoch of Garson, Scott Murdoch, Stacey Murdoch, Bonnie Acres and Courtney Murdoch all of Seattle, Washington, Tara Knight of Kingston, Allison Knight of Sudbury, Katelyn Murdoch and Jodie Murdoch both of Kenora. Mel is also survived by 13 great grandchildren Lauren and Ryan Murdoch, Tyrus and Liam Crawford, Melissa and Jason Murdoch, Chance Calhoun, Hayley Murdoch, Kaleb Murdoch, Mykayla and Kelsey Acres and Elias and Gabriel Murdoch-Morales. Left to mourn Mel's passing are sisters Edith Beacock, Mabel Kirkup and brother Leyman (Bernice) Murdoch. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Museum of Northern History "The Sir Harry Oakes Chateau" (2 Chateau Dr. Kirkland Lake) from 12 to 3 pm, on Thursday, January 15, 2004. Outre son épouse, il laisse dans le deuil cinq filles: Rita (Eugène Babineau) de Malboro, Mass., Lorraine (Alcide Gagnon) de Miramichi, Anne-Marie (Émile Caissie) de Rogersville, Juliette (feu Armand Gautreau) de Memramcook et Lucie (feu Gérard Allain) de Dieppe; quatre fils: Regis (Majella Leblanc) de Pré-d’en-Haut, Raymond (Geneva Richard) de Waltham, Mass., Édouard et Antoine (Lina Arseneault), tous deux de Rogersville; trois soeurs: Rita (Baptiste McCaie) et Alida (feu Alcide Babineau), toutes deux de Gardner, Mass. et Dorina (feu Conrad Martin) de Baie-Sainte-Anne; un frère, Aldéric (Thérèse Haché) de Rogersville, ainsi que 20 petits-enfants, dix arrière-petits-enfants et plusieurs neveux et nièces. WESTON, Peter Anthony (RAF ret'd) Veteran of WWII Malayan Campaign & Korea Peacefully at home, on Sunday, January 11, 2004 with much courage and dignity, with his wife and family at his side. Born August 20th, 1924 in Southampton, England, Peter lived a life dedicated to service and family unity as a Flight Sergeant in the Royal Air Force and as a loving husband, proud father and grandfather. With Love, finally in God's Kingdom, Peter, the most loving and devoted husband of Irene for 53 years. "We walked with Love, and Love was there for us." Cherished father of Andrew (Nancy Burke) and Jane (Mike Veinot). Much loved Grandfather to Chris, Graig, Kate and Brett. Their "Grandad" will never be forgotten. Peter's passion was his family and aviation. He was a radio/radar operator wearing the 'S' brevet in the Royal Air Force, and was a certified second pilot, as well as having been employed building Spitfires pre-WWII. Peter served in Lancaster 186 Squadron during World War II, 209 Squadron in Japan during the Korean War and 45 Squadron in Malaya, and flew as a Radio Officer with BOAC after his distinguished military service. In accordance with Peter's wishes, he was cremated and the family will hold a private "celebration of life", which of course will include "high tea." Many family members, friends and neighbours will miss Peter's smiles, candies and helping hands. He was loved and cherished by all he met. Irene would like to thank dear friends Sam and Marjorie Holmes, Trudy Schuiteboer, Ellie Bernier, Kay and Ray Webster, all the gang at the Place d'Orleans Walking Club and "her girls" for their friendship and support during Peter's short and sudden illness. Special thanks to Dr. Sardana at Orleans Urgent Care whose concern and diligence led to Peter receiving the care he needed. The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to Dr. Louise Coulombe for her wonderful care and support that allowed us to keep Peter at home, where he wanted to be. In addition, we want to thank our "angels" from the Victorian Order of Nurses, especially Bonnie Nunner for her friendship, devotion and night nurse training. Bonnie gave us the extra shoulder we needed to lean on for additional strength during this difficult time.
