Sisters Alice (George, deceased) Whelton, Ottawa, Ontario, Marion (James) Cassidy, Fort Fairfield, Maine, Rosalie (Jack) Pirie, Tilley, New Brunswick, Joan (John) Jones, St. Stephen, New Brunswick. Brothers Ambrose (Theresa), Carlow, New Brunswick, Thomas (Rosaleen), Sumêmerside, P.E.I., Leo (Anne), Moncton, New Brunswck. Predeceased by his parents, Gertrude and Bill. Also several nieces and nephews. John's life was teaching and his students. Taught at the Elementary level and following further studies was on Staff at the Nova Scotia Agricultural College, Truro, Nova Scotia from 1954-1966, South Carleton High School, Richmond, Ontario 1966-1982 and Confederation High School from 1982 until retirement 1989. According to John's wishes cremation and a private interment has been held.

Ivan Blair Horsman MATHESON, ON - Ivan Blair Horsman of Matheson died peacefully on Wednesday, October 29, 2003 after a valiant struggle with cancer. Ivan was born January 23, 1930 in Berry's Mills, New Brunswick. Ivan came to Ontario in 1963 with Margaret and their children and was a vital member of his community for the 40 years he lived in Northern Ontario. Ivan lived in Larder Lake, and Swastika and then moved to Matheson in 1982. Ivan was a volunteer firefighter and a member of the Rotary and a loyal employee of the Ontario Northland Railway for 30 years. Ivan was the proud father of Deborah, Edith, Blair, Hazel, Ruth, Dot, Helen, Beverley, and Gordon. Ivan was a doting grandfather to his 20 grandchildren and two great grand-children. Predeceased by his mother, Hazel; his father, William and sister, Gladys and brother, Dugald. Ivan leaves behind his brother, Neil and his sisters, Ena, Zilda, Elin (Ellen) and Myrtle. Ivan conquered alcohol addiction at the age of 33 and recently celebrated 40 years of sobriety. Ivan worked tirelessly for those who sought to overcome addictions. A burial service will be organized by Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home and held at 2 pm on November 14, 2003. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Andrew's United Church in Matheson, Ontario on November 8 at 1 pm. Reverend Janet Petrie will conduct the service. Ivan will be buried at the family cemetery in Lutes Mountain, New Brunswick. ARNOLD, ADA CLAIRE - 76, Dartmouth. With great sadness and regret, the family advises of Claire's passing on October 30, 2003 in the Dartmouth General Hospital after a brave struggle with cancer. Born in Saint John, N.B., daughter of the late Howard and Elizabeth (Dewar) Smith. She is survived by her husband Bob; brother Donald Smith (Saint John); daughter Beth (Martin) Popoff, Toronto; sons, Paul (Jean) Arnold, Dartmouth; Colin (Siobhan Monaghan) Arnold, Toronto; David (Melanie) Arnold, Dartmouth and eleven grandchildren. Devoted wife, sister, mother, grandmother and keeper of the faith. Claire was active in church activities and choirs since early youth. She is sorely missed. Sincerest thanks and appreciation for the care given to Claire by the staff at Dartmouth General Hospital - 3rd. floor East Wing. She was a member of the Buffalo Club, Legion #14, and the Seniors Center. JOHNSON, BERNICE IRENE - The death of Bernice I. Johnson, wife of the late Walter Sandy Johnson and Robert Francis McCann, occurred on October 31, 2003, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John she was the daughter of the late James Allan and Ruby Irene (McDevitt) Price. She was a former member of St. James Anglican Church, Broad Street. She was an avid bowling enthusiast and enjoyed dancing. She is survived by her son Robert A. TRUE, CHARLES ROBERT "BOB" The passing of Charles Robert "Bob" True of Douglas, N.B., occurred at the Veteran's Health Unit, Fredericton on Friday October 31, 2003. Born March 23, 1925 in Woodstock, N.B., he was the son of the late Lewis and Winnifred (Nevers) True. Bob was a veteran of the Second World War where he was a pilot for the Air Force. he was also a member of the Fredericton Legion, Branch No. 4. Survived by his wife Pauline (Gregoire) True; two sons, Marc True (Karen) and Eric True both of Fredericton; five grandchildren, Matthew, Alexandria, Chantal, Marcy and Dana; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents and a brother, Ronald True. KING, GRETA CECELIA - The death of Greta Cecelia King occurred at her residence, Loch Lomond Villa, on October 31, 2003. She was born in Barryville, NB and was the daughter of the late Anna McKay and Daniel McKay. She was also predeceased by her stepfather Prince Edward Ingersoll. Greta is survived by three sisters; (Shirley) Mrs. Dale McLaughlin, (June) Mrs. Frank Gallant and (Beth) Mrs. Patrick O'Donnell, and two brothers William (Rosalie) Ingersoll and Donald Ingersoll. She will be sadly missed by her many friends in Goose Bay, Labrador where she lived and worked for many years. Greta will also be missed by her friends and co-workers at Smitty's Restaurant where she was previously employed at the time of her illness. She will be remembered dearly by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister-in-law Pauli Ingersoll. Pansy is survived by two daughters, Nancy Wood (Wayne) of Minto, Judy Farrell (John) of Minto; two sons, Richard Burbery (Doris) of Minto, Allen Burbery (Lori) of Minto; one sister, Irene Austin of Ontario; one brother, Raymond Austin (Doris) of Minto; six sisters-in-law, Lillie Austin, Margaret Austin, Stella Austin, Annie Kantor, Arline Landry and Donna Campbell; six grandchildren, Viola, Valerie, Kevin, James, Jason and Sara; four great grandchildren, Chelsey, Mitchell, Nicole and Megan; several nieces and nephews. Pansy was a loving wife and mother, her greatest joy were her grandchildren. She is predeceased by her parents, Mabel (Hazlett) and Harry Austin; her husband, William Burbery; two sisters, Nellie Quigley and Sadie Miller; eight brothers, Harold, Lester, Roy, Goldie, Bob, Kenny, Alvin and Harry Austin.
