BOWLER, Grantham, With great sadness we announce the death of our beloved father, Grantham Bowler, Dad passed away after a brief illness on Tuesday, September 2nd, 2003 at St. Paul's Hospital in Vancouver, B.C. Dad was born in Fort Jameson, Northern Rhodesia and after schooling in England, returned to help run the family farms. During WWII he was stationed in Ceylon and East Africa. With his extended family he emigrated to Canada in 1964, settling in St. Catharines, Ontario on a fruit farm and later became a Realtor. Dad also lived and worked in Calgary, Alberta before retiring to Vancouver, B.C. Dad lived his life with kindness, humour and compassion. Left behind to miss him are his daughters and their families; Christina, Richard, Andrea (Nick Cullingham), David and Catherine Hart, Jennifer, Paul, Andy and Jamie Tizzard, Danuta and Brian De Young, Pamela, Chris, Drake, Sterling and Sasha Speed. Also his sisters-in-law and nephews and nieces, Sally and Michael DeGuglielmo, Alice, Edw ard, Gerald, Gwendolyn, Michael, Brian, Andrew, Brenda, Lorraine and Debbie Bowler. Good friends Nadine Newman and Frank Samson. Dad has gone to join our mother Janina and his brother Michael. KLEIN, CAROLE J. - The death of Carole Jean Klein of 19 Brentwood Crescent, Saint John, occurred on Monday, October 6, 2003, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late F. Earle and Marion P. (Myles) Corbett. Carole was a graduate of Saint John Vocational School, an active member of Main Street Baptist Church, a member of the church choir, the Ada Secord-Mary Cowan and the Harambee Women's Missionary Society. She was a volunteer at the Saint John Regional Hospital, for many years and was recently awarded a 2000 hour service pin. She is survived by one son, Erik Frederick Corbett Klein of Toronto, Ontario. Fernand Raymond LeBlanc Fernand Raymond LeBlanc of Moncton, NB, age 56, passed away Monday October 6, 2003 at his residence. Born August 1, 1947 in Moncton, NB, he was a son of the late Oscar and Evelyn (Cormier) LeBlanc. He was retired from the CNR. He was a member of the Southeastern Blue Grass Association, and played with the Timberland Express. He is survived by his wife Noreen (Smith) LeBlanc; a daughter Nadine LeBlanc at home; a son Craig of Fredericton; a sister Claudette Lawson (Ross) of Minden, Ontario; two brothers, Bernard (Rosalee) of Florida and Jean Guy of Shediac; also by several aunts; uncles; nieces and nephews.. WRIGHT, Elizabeth Anne (Betty) nee Coyle - Surrounded by her family at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre, Hospital Drive on Monday, October 6, 2003 in her 87th year. Born in Winnipeg on October 30, 1916, Betty earned 20 years of service with the Otonabee Regional Conservation Authority. Betty became president of the Peterborough Senior Citizens Council and was also involved with Meals on Wheels, Soroptimists International of Peterborough and Hospice and lifetime member C.W.L. Dear mother of Barbara Hartnett and her husband Jere of Burlington, Mary Sue Rankin of Toronto and Penny Wright of Whistler, B.C. Loving grandmother of Catherine Fitzgerald and her husband Scott, Mary Hartnett and Michael Hartnett. Great-grandmother of Maeve and Ryan Fitzgerald. DOUCETTE, GEORGE EDGAR The death of George Edgar Doucette of Fredericton occurred October 7, 2003 at the age of 67. Born in Fredericton, he was the son of the late Arthur and Margaret Effie (Hickey) Doucette. George had worked at Canadian Cottons and later as a truck driver / equipment operator and in recent years as a crossing guard in Marysville and Barkers Point. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Marysville Branch #15. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Aurele, William and Arthur and sister, Cecilia Robar. Surviving are his wife Anna Marie; daughter, Michelle Murray; step-sons, Warren M. Parker (Vicki) and Brian R. Parker all of Fredericton; brothers, Edward (Glenna), Earl (Florence), Donald (Vera) and Dale (Dianne) all of Fredericton; sisters, Theresa (Ward) Jackson of Shilo, Manitoba, Margaret Opal (Leo) Doucet, Ella Parker and Marie (Clarence) Briggs of Fredericton; six grandchildren, Larrissa, Brianna, Kailey and Emiley Murray and Robbie and Zachary Parker; several nieces and nephews. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, University Women's Club, I.O.D.E. Valcartier Chapter, Historical Society and the Union Club, received her Bachelor of Science at Acadia University in Wolfville, NS, owned and operated a business for 8 1/2 years in Port Hawkesbury, NS. Glenna will be sadly missed by her dear friends Marion, Doreen, Beverley and Mary. MARTIN, PAUL LYNWOOD-The death of Paul Lynwood Martin occurred at home with family in Quispamsis on October 7, 2003. He was born in Saint John, NB on February 28, 1924, the son of the late Douglas and Agnes (Malloy) Martin. Since his retirement from Poly-Cello/Eastern Paper Products in 1985, he very much enjoyed summers at Deadmans Harbour. He is best remembered as an avid outdoorsman and was very active in fishing, hunting and trapping. He was a member of the Hammond River Angling Association, Tri-County Trappers Association, Hampton Marsh Committee, NB Fur Harvesters Association and the NB Wildlife Federation. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Peggy (Buckley) and seven children; Jim (Jennifer) of Waweig, Pat (John) Bielli of Quispamsis, Lynn (Sean) Sparks of Hampton, Mike (Rose) of Quispamsis, Judy (Ramon) Martin, Paula Henry, Dean (Kathy) all of Hampton and 18 grandchildren. He was predeceased by one brother Jim, one sister Betty McFarlane, a son-in-law David Henry and a grandson Benjamin Martin. SEGUIN, Angeline "Angie" On October 3rd, 2003, Angeline Marie Seguin went peacefully to her rest from the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Edmonton. She was born in High Prairie, Alberta on April 30th, 1945. Angeline, since her birth, was a long-time resident of the community of Slave Lake, Alberta. "He Only Takes The Best" God saw she was getting tired and the cure was not to be. So He put his arms around her and whispered, "Come with me." With tear-filled eyes we watched her suffer and fade away. Although we loved her deeply, we could not make her stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard-working hands put to rest. Crooks,Thomas Alexander 1924-2003 Passed away peacefully on Thursday 2 Oct 03, at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie,Ontario after a long battle with cancer.Tom is survived by his wife of 46 years,Hanna (Anna), brother Laurence and wife Mary of Prince George, B.C.and numerous nieces and nephews in Canada, the United States and Scotland.He was predeceased by his parents,one sister and four brothers.Tom served in the Canadian Army for over 30 years in war and peace.He was wounded in Germany in 1944 while an Infantryman in the Algonquin Regiment. After the war he transfered to the Provost Corps and served the remainder of his career as a Military Policeman.Upon retirement from the Forces Tom spent 13 years with Ontario Hydro security, primarily as a shift supervisor at the Bruce Nuclear plant.Tom will be greatly missed by his many friends and relatives.Many thanks to the Doctors, Nurses and all the staff at RVH and the Community Care Access Center for the excellent care and concern shown Tom during his illness. Young, Alice MAUDE Passed away peacefully at the Woods Park Care Centre in Barrie on Saturday, October 4th, 2003 in her 95th year. Maude (nee Ford) was the daughter of Thomas and Minnie Ford, born in Grenfel in 1909. Married to T.L. Young residing in Grenfel for several years before moving to Minesing where she became very active in community and church directing the choir for 50 years. Mrs. Young taught primary grades for many years at the original Minesing School and later at the new facility. Known to many as Auntie Maude, she has touched many young lives. Pred-deceased by her husband T.L. Young and her brothers Clarence, Clifford and Murray Ford. Survived by her sisters Mildred Veitch and Dorothy Campbell and her many nieces and nephews. She will be missed by many. Friends may call at the Jennett Chapel of the McCLELLAND AND SLESSOR Funeral Home, 152 Bradford Street in Barrie on Tuesday evening from 7-9pm.
