Peacefully on Saturday, May 24, 2003 at K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, Kitchener. Marjorie Norcross of Kitchener, age ninety years. Loving mother of Greg and his wife Muriel of Woodstock, Ont., Brian of Stratford, Conn., formerly of Sarnia, Ont., and Ken and his wife Lindsay of Pitt Meadows, B.C. Marjorie will be sadly missed by her nine grandchildren and her ten great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her husband Grant in 1993, her grandson Gary in 1988, and her two sisters Ruby Ballantyne and Della Smith. At Marjorie's request, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or funeral service in the funeral home. TRASATTI, Giulio, It is with great sorrow and sadness that the family of Giulio Trasatti announce that our Lord has taken him on Friday, May 23, 2003 at Sunset Haven nursing home in his 91st year. Born in Isola Del Gran Sasso, Italy on September 1, 1912. Giulio came to Canada with his beloved wife and three children and has lived in Port Colborne since 1948. In Canada, Giulio worked at the Port Colborne Robin Hood and was a member of the Quarter Century Club. Giulio was an active member of the Welland City Band and a Veteran of World War II in Italy. Predeceased by his wife Maria in April 2000. She has waited to greet him in Heaven along with his parents; Battina and Antonio Trasatti, his infant son, his sisters; Franchescina Gasbarini, Er isilia DiPasquale, and his brother Ercole Trasatti. Giulio will be sadly missed and forever in the hearts of his best friend and son Mario Trasatti and his wife Linda of Port Colborne, his daughters Elsa Fraschetti and her husband Leo of California, and Marguerite Nicoletti and her husband Benjamin of Lewiston, New York. Loving grandfather to Melissa and Adam Trasatti, Nile Fraschetti, Angela Woolmore and her husband David, Debi Macri and her husband Eddie, Anthony and Benji Nicoletti, and Ronni e Nicoletti and his wife Lisa. Dear great-grandfather to Alexa Rae, Olivia and Marco Nicoletti, Edward and Violet Woolmore and Domenic Macri, Giulio will also be missed by his nieces, nephews and friends. YVONNE MARIE KNIGHT (nee de MONTIGNY) It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Yvonne Marie Knight on Thursday, May 22, 2003 at the age of 60 years. Left to cherish her loving memory are her husband of 43 years of marriage Winston; son Gary (Heather) Knight; daughters, Kim (Ed) Neufeld, Sharon (Doug) Wood, Lisa Knight, Jennifer (Brandon) Ward; her beloved grandchildren, Tyler, Kelsey, Ashley, Bryce and Payton. (nee Zender) Peacefully in Ottawa, on Friday, May 23, 2003. Predeceased by her beloved Phillip and daughter Janet Vivian. Dear mother of Warren (and his wife Hilda), Marilyn, Barbara (and her husband Kelly Collins). Dear Grandmother of Heather, Mathew and Bradley Doyle, and Jamie, Kate and Scott Collins. Sister of Dr. Robert J. Zender of Stettler Alberta (deceased) and sister-in-law to Audrey. Good Friend of Norma Carlson and Marjorie Wallace and her neighbour the late Mrs. Elaine Brunton. Born on November 26, 1918, Cathryn was active in the music community from an early age on Edmonton radio broadcasts and music, both as a performer where she met her future husband Phillip, who later joined the RCMP, and as a teacher in Edmonton, Winnipeg (where her children were born) and later Ottawa. In Ottawa, Cathryn taught continuously with the Ottawa Board of Education for almost forty years as a piano class teacher, was the Choir Director at Emmanuel United Church, later serving as the Choir Director at St. Timothy's Presbyterian Church for over thirty years. Cathryn was active with many music groups including the Harmelodic Club providing service to nursing homes, her support of the Ottawa Music Festival and the varied music clubs in the Ottawa area including the local chapter of the Royal Conservatory of Music (Toronto) Alumni. Cathryn will be remembered for her encouragement of youth in music, her dedication to her family and her love of music. After the medical community admitted their defeat following her stroke in September 1999, Cathryn or Kay as she was sometimes known in her youth, learned to walk and again two more times after major operations and reacquire speech. While she could no longer read music, she could enjoy music, dining out and could still play some melodies from memory. Friends and family may pay their respects at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street, on Monday May 26, 2003 from 9 to 10 a.m. Service in the Chapel at 10 a.m. Interment at Beechwood Cemetery with Janet and Phillip. At the Queensway Carleton Hospital on Friday May 23, 2003, James Percy Ross in his 87th year, dearly loved husband of Patricia, for over 60 years. Loving and loved father of Andrew, Stephen, David (passed away last year), and Gordon; father-in-law of Wanda, Noriko, Terry and Jean. Dear Papa of Scott, Shelby, Staci, Shannon, Jonathan and Susan. Predeceased by his brother Robert, survived by sisters Mona Bengston and Thelma Croskery, his sister-in-law Marge Patterson and many nieces and nephews. Percy served with the Canadian Armed Forces during WWII from September 1939 until 1945. After the war he joined the Boy Scouts of Canada working in executive positions in New Brunswick, British Columbia and Ottawa. He retired in 1981 after 13 years as Chief Executive of the Boy Scouts of Canada. Following his retirement Percy continued to be active and was employed by the Anglican Book Store at the time of his death. Throughout his life Percy was an active member of the Anglican Church. Friends may call at the Westboro Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 403 Richmond Road (At Roosevelt) on Monday from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday at All Saints Anglican Church, 347 Richmond Rd, Ottawa at 2 p.m. followed by interment at Pinecrest Cemetery.
