Jane Barrett Hart (nee Roger) passed away on May 7th, 2003 in her 83rd year at home with her daughters at her side. She will be sadly missed and forever remembered by all who knew her. Cherished mother of Catherine Carpenter (David) of Ottawa and Martha Courtright (Tony) of Toronto. Loving Nannie of Jonathan, Erica and Christopher Rayment of Ottawa and Alanna and Graham Courtright of Toronto. Also survived by nieces Margaret Jane and Rosemary Kohr and by many dear friends. Predeceased by her loving husband Howard, her parents Blair and Jane Roger, her sister Margaret Kohr and her brother Frederick Roger. Second generation Ottawa pharmacist, Jane attended U of T College of Pharmacy, from which she and Howard graduated in 1944. Howard and Jane owned Hart's Beechwood Pharmacy, serving customers in the communities of Rockcliffe, New Edinburgh and Vanier for 35 years. In her retirement, Jane enjoyed extensive travelling with various good friends. At home, she was an active member of the Church, University Women's Club and the I.O.D.E. Special thanks to Dr. Carlos Leal and Dr. Louise Coulombe and Olivia Gutierrez. Their care and compassion will always be remembered and greatly appreciated. Dr. Donald Campbell Peacefully, surrounded by his family on Wednesday, May 7, 2003 at the Civic Hospital age 82. Survived by Jean, his loving wife and partner of 57 years, his children Margot (Peter), Stephanie, Philip (Natalie) and Sarah (Jason); and by his grandchildren, Sarah, Alexandre, Arwen and Maeve. Son of the late Royal Harp Montgomery and Gertrude Campbell Montgomery; sibling to the late Royal Campbell Montgomery and the late Ruth Campbell Smith. A long-time Ottawa resident, he practised dermatology for 51 years and was a selfless contributor to the growth of dermatology in Canada. Chief of Dermatology, Ottawa Civic Hospital 1974-1986; President, Canadian Dermatological Association 1974. On staff at three medical schools: University of Ottawa, McGill and Queen's. Recipient of the first "Canadian Dermatology Foundation Practitioner of the Year" in 1992. An avid outdoorsman with interests in camping, golf, tennis and skiing. Queen's University Medical School 1944; Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps Officer 1944-1946; Columbia University 1949. Friends may visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street, on Thursday, May 8 from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday, May 9 from 12 to 2 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel on Friday, May 9, 2003 at 7 p.m. Private interment Beechwood Cemetery. PHILIP JOSEPH LACHAPELLE Peacefully, Philip Lachapelle passed away on May 6, 2003 at Health Sciences Centre with his family at his side. He is survived by very special friend Fatima, who cared for Phil and loved him dearly; son Justin; stepchildren, Mark, Shelly, Tyrone and their children; brothers and sisters in Montreal and British Columbia; and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Lena in December 1993. Philip was born on October 26, 1936 in Montreal. He worked at Rehau for 22 years as a supervisor; he loved his job and enjoyed being with the employees. Thank you to all the staff at Rehau for their care and love. He was a private and generous person with a big heart, loved by many. The family wishes to thank Dr. G. Schroeder, Dr. H. Johnson and the staff at Health Sciences Centre. DENNIS (RED) VERSCHEURE Peacefully, after a lengthy illness, Red, born December 15, 1934, passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital on Monday, May 5, 2003. He was predeceased by his father, Leo in 1960. He is survived by his mother, Gabrielle; his sisters, Florence, Lorraine (Dave) and his brother, Henry, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews. Red lived in St. Norbert all of his life. After working at several jobs, Red and Henry purchased Hespeler Service which they later sold and purchased the garage in La Salle, MB. He sold that service station and went into semi-retirement, operating Red's Towing until only a few years ago. Red was a happy-go-lucky person ready to help anyone. He was a member of the Belgian Club and a charter member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles 3870. He also served as membership chairman on the Board of Trustees. The family would like to thank all the homecare workers, and the doctors, nurses and staff on 5A Medicine at the St. Boniface Hospital and at the Health Sciences Centre. Cremation has taken place. As per Red's wishes, there will be no formal service. Private interment of Red's cremated remains will take place at a later date. YVONNE FAYE VIZNAUGH/VEZINA It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dear daughter, sister, auntie, niece, cousin and friend on May 5, 2003 at the Health Sciences Centre at the age of 42 years. She will be deeply missed by her loving mother and father, Marcella and Orval (Doc); and her siblings, Carolyn (Derrick) Favell, Kelly (Chrissy) Viznaugh, Holly (Sonny) Bandura and Norm Vezina; seven nieces, Angie, Michelle, Tammy, Brandi, Justice, Madison and Ashley; four nephews, Norm, Cody, Jesse and Aaron; and a special great-niece Cherilyn Vezina. She will also be missed by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and good friend Tina. She was predeceased by her grandparents, Florence and Norman Viznaugh and Christina and Wilfred Knott; her special little uncle Pete; and cousin Lana Joy. Yvonne was born in Winnipeg on July 31, 1960. She received her education in Winnipeg and was presently taking CGA courses through Hydro. Her goal was to attain CGA Accreditation. She was an exceptional worker with outstanding work ethics. At the time of her passing, she was working both for Manitoba Hydro and Revenue Canada. She was a very kind and loving person, always putting everyone else's needs ahead of her own. Yvonne loved her family a great deal and was proud of them as they were of her. We'll miss Sis's wonderful sense of humour, heartfelt laugh and beautiful smile. Prayers will be said on Friday, May 9 at 7:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk with cremation to follow.
