She served in the Canadian Red Cross, in England during the Second World War and was active with the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts and the Montreal Symphony. She will be sadly missed by her family, friends and many who knew her for her sparkle, generosity and imagination. (nee Green) 1952 - 2003 On Wednesday, February 19th, 2003, at home in Amherst, New Hampshire, after a courageous battle with cancer, Mary Bottrill closed her eyes for the last time. Mary was a loving wife, devoted mother, daughter, sister, aunt and cherished friend of many. She was born in Seeley's Bay, Ontario, attended Queen's University in Kingston, married John, moved to Ottawa where she worked at Carleton University and raised her and John's 2 fine boys, David and Christopher. In the spring of 2000, Mary and her family moved to Amherst, New Hampshire. Throughout her illness, Mary's optimism and positive attitude were an inspiration. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her, especially John, David and Chris. Mary wished for an immediate small remembrance service and cremation to be held in New Hampshire followed in the spring by a celebration of her life with her Canadian family and friends. This service and internment is to be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 26th, 2003, at Olivet Church in Seeley's Bay located on Hwy 32 about 2 miles from the junction of Hwy 32 and Hwy 16. Lucie Trudelle Lucie est décédée à l’hôpital Saint-Sacrement, le jeudi 27 février 2003, entourée de l’amour des siens. Elle était la fille bien-aimée de feu Duhamel Trudelle et de feu Marguerite Talbot. Elle demeurait à Québec. 1920 - 2003 À l’hôpital des Anciens Combattants à Manchester, New Hampshire, États-Unis, est décédé l’abbé Mancy J. (Mike) Gendron, à l’âge de 83 ans. Il était le fils aîné de feux François Gendron et Valéda Rouleau. Il était membre initiateur de l’Institut Séculier Pie X de Charlesbourg avec le père Henri Roy. Il laisse dans le deuil son frère, monseigneur Odore Gendron, évêque émérite de Manchester, sa sœur Rolande, les membres de l’Institut Séculier Pie X ainsi que les membres des Messagères de Paix. Né à Manchester, New Hampshire, après ses études secondaires au Petit Séminaire St-Charles Borromée de Sherbrooke, il entre sur le marché du travail et devient président de la Jeunesse Ouvrière Catholique de la Nouvelle Angleterre. Il est un ancien combattant de la Deuxième Guerre Mondiale, dans l’infanterie, où il servit en Afrique, en Sicile, en France, en Italie et en Pologne. Au retour de son service militaire, il entreprit des études au Collège Saint Anselme de Manchester ainsi que des cours à l’Université Catholique de Washington, D.C. Il poursuivit ses études théologiques au Grand Séminaire de Québec et fut ordonné prêtre le 7 juin 1952 par monseigneur Maurice Roy, Archevêque de Québec. Après son ordination il a servi les communautés chrétiennes de St-Philippe de Clermont, Sainte Anastasie de Lyster et Notre-Dame de Grâce, en tant que vicaire. Il poursuivit son ministère au service de la mission de l’Institut Séculier Pie X, dans de nombreux apostolats, tels que «Les Messagers Catholiques de la Bible», «Les Aumoniers d’Usine», «Les Militants de Presse», «Le Séminaire St-Pie X pour vocations tardives à Sherbrooke», «le Magazine Populaire Catholique, Je Crois», et le Mouvement «La Rencontre». Il participe activement à la construction de la Maison du Renouveau à Charlesbourg. En 1965, après le décès du fondateur de l’Institut Séculier Pie X, il devient directeur général du même Institut et ce jusqu’en 1970. C’est pendant son mandat que l’Institut est fondé en Colombie, Amérique du Sud. Après ces années de ministère au sein de l’Institut, il poursuivit son travail pastoral dans la Région de Charlevoix, où il est nommé le premier secrétaire-animateur par le cardinal Maurice Roy. Là, il devient l’accompagnateur spirituel du groupe des «Messagères de Paix», à Pointe-au-Pic. Les dernières années de sa vie, il continue de servir discrètement en faisant du remplacement ministériel dans la région de Charlevoix. Depuis six ans, pour des raisons de santé, il s’était retraité à Manchester, New Hampshire. Vous êtes invités à une soirée de prière avec les membres de sa famille, qui se tiendra à la Maison du Renouveau, 870, Carré de Tracy est, Charlesbourg, le lundi 3 mars 2003 à 19h30. Les funérailles auront lieu le mardi 4 mars, en l’église paroissiale de Saint-Charles Borromée à Charlesbourg (coin 80e rue et 1re avenue). La famille recevra les témoignages de condoléances à compter de 10h. Les funérailles seront célébrées sans la dépouille mortelle puisque l’inhumation se fera aux États-Unis dans le lot familial.
