PERRIER, Raymond ``RAY'' JOSEPH BERNARD est décédé à l'hôpital, le samedi 1er juin 2002, à 76 ans, après un combat courageux contre le cancer des poumons. Raymond Perrier était le père dévoué de Camille Marion (Claude), Joseph (décédé à la naissance à Val d'Or, Qué.), Richard (Lucie St-Arnaud) et Victor (décédé à la naissance à Belleville, Ont.); fier grand-père de Christian Marion (Martine Gélinas), Caroline (Adam Bordeleau, ami) et Nicholas; davantage fier arrière-grand-père de Celestina ``Celeste'' Pinkney et Kayla Clairoux. Prédécédé par ses parents, Pierre et Marie-Anne (née Branchaud); frères: Rolland, Gerard ``Jiggs'' (Simone Vaillancourt), Fern et Jean, ainsi que sa soeur Carmen. Il laisse dans le deuil ses frères: Gilles et Alfred ``Fred'' (Jeanine Brisson); soeurs: Thérèse Freemark (feu Andrew), Gertrude ``Gert'' Robert (feu Charles), Patricia ``Patsy'' Bardocz (John), ainsi que plusieurs nièces, neveux et amis. MINEAULT, Roger ``LOULOU'' de Val-des-Monts, décédé le dimanche 2 juin 2002, à l'âge de 73 ans. Il était l'époux bien-aimé de Dorilda Mathé, le fils de feu Frank Mineault et de feu Célima Charette. Outre son épouse, il laisse 4 filles: Murielle (Gilbert Mongeon), Anita (Rolland Lorrain), Francine (Marc St-Amour), Julie (Claude jr Beaudin); 1 fils, Daniel. Il était un grand-père dévoué de 6 petits-enfants: Michel, Alexandre, Jessica, Krystel, ainsi que Jade et Ariane. Il laisse 1 frère, Lucien (Émilienne Rainville); sa belle-mère Lorenza Duquette (feu Donat Mathé). Il fut prédécédé par 3 frères: Aimé (feu Laurette Nadon), Claude (feu Jacqueline Paiement) et Aldège (Edna Maisonneuve) ainsi que par 3 soeurs: Bernadette, Yvette (feu Maurice Gagnon) et Aurore (feu Albert Larabie). Il laisse également plusieurs beaux-frères, belles-soeurs, neveux et nièces tout particulièrement Huguette Mineault (Raymond Cléroux) ainsi que de nombreux amis, tout spécialement M. et Mme Jacques Lizotte. Il a été à l'emploi du ministère des Transports du gouvernement du Québec pendant plus de 22 ans. Un merci spécial au personnel infirmier des soins intensifs du CHVO pavillon de Hull, tout spécialement à l'infirmier Steve Beaulieu pour leur support et les soins exceptionnels prodigués à M. Mineault. VISITES: À sa demande, il n'y aura pas de visites à la maison funéraire. SERVICE RELIGIEUX: le jeudi 6 juin à 14h, en l'église St-Antoine-de-Padoue, Val-des-Monts, Qué., où aura lieu une messe en présence des cendres, suivie de l'inhumation au cimetière du même endroit. Mary (Marie) Shepanski It is with great sadness that the family of Mary Shepanski announces her sudden passing on Thursday, May 30, 2002 at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances, Ont. Mary was born Aug. 4 in Meleb, Man., the eldest daughter of Barbara and Frank Baliant. She was united in marriage to Edward Shepanski on Sept. 25, 1948 and resided in Fort Frances for the past 50 years. Mary’s life revolved around her family and friends. She was a woman of many talents. Mary loved animals and nature, and her vegetable and flower gardens were her pride. She expressed her creativity with her many sewing projects. Mary loved to cook and you never left her kitchen feeling hungry. Mary would tell you stories that would entertain you for hours or comfort your needs in a simple phone call. Her love for her family and friends was unconditional. She was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Barbara Baliant; two brothers, Albin and John Baliant; and one son, John Shepanski. Mary is survived by her husband, Edward Shepanski of Fort Frances, Ont.; six children, Barbara and husband, Chuck Hadley, of Anoka, Mn., George Shepanski of Calgary, Alta., and Joanne and husband, Richard Bliss, Nick and Andrew Shepanski, and Josie and husband, Darryl McLeod, all of Fort Frances, Ont. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, Chad Hadley and wife, Dawn and their children, Katelyn and Nathan, of Burns Township, Mn., Todd Bliss of Toronto, Ont., Nicole and husband, Jeff Clapp, and their son, Jax, of Champlin, Mn., Tanis Bliss of London, Ont., Stacia Hadley and Tiffany Hadley, both of Anoka, Mn., Nina Shepanski, and Derek and Chantel McLeod, all of Fort Frances, Ont. Also surviving are two sisters, Ann Rosolowich of Winnipeg, Man. and Jean Baliant of Meleb, Man.; one brother, Bert Baliant of Gimli, Man.; and by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. DEACON, Eileen Gertrude In loving memory of Eileen Gertrude Deacon, 88 years, of Pioneer Manor, who passed away Saturday morning, June 1st, 2002 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital - Memorial Site. She was born in Burkes Falls and in 1935 she married Kenneth Deacon in Capreol. Betty (Shegone) Johnson Betty Johnson, 72, of Stanjikoming First Nation, Ont., passed away Friday, May 31, 2002 at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances, Ont. She was born Dec. 5, 1929 in Seine River First Nation, Ont. Betty grew up at Seine River but in later years moved to Stanjikoming First Nation, where she became a band member. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Russell Kenny; and one sister, Irene Whitecrow. Betty is survived by two daughters, Lena Webster of Kingston, Ont., and Phyllis Webster of Sudbury, Ont.; two grandchildren, Alanna and Nathan Webster, both of Sudbury, Ont.; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. A traditional burial service will be held Wednesday morning, June 5, 2002 at the family home in Stanjikoming First Nation. Elder Gilbert Smith will officiate, with interment in Stanjikoming First Nation Cemetery. A wake will be held Tuesday evening, June 4, 2002 at the family home in Stanjikoming First Nation. P. Eng. McGill 1942 Peacefully Friday May 31, 2002 at St. Vincent's Hospital, Douglas Thomas Shaw age 82. Beloved husband of Elma Graham. Cherished father of Marilyn (Kevin O'Neill) and Graham Shaw (Julie). Loving grandfather "T.O.M." of Lori and Kelly O'Neill; Kinnon and Kiefer Shaw. Dear brother of Joyce Peters of Toronto. As the President of D.T. Shaw Company and Heinemann Electric Canada, Doug enjoyed the challenge of business with his valued employees and customers. He will be fondly remembered by the boys who enjoyed his leadership and good times in Glenmount Scout Troop, as well as the Saturday ski/bus trips for young people to the Laurentians. A keen ham radio operator, call letters VE2P0, he had friends worldwide. He proudly served in the Royal Canadian Signal Corps, 1942-45. His later years spent in Mont Tremblant were happy times for Doug enjoying the company of family and friends around his pool. The family is extremely appreciative of the care and devotion given to Doug by staff and volunteers, during the last two years at St. Vincent's Hospital. Family interment at Capital Memorial Gardens. December 11, 1923 - June 2, 2002 Exactly one week after saying goodbye to Sylvia, his wife of 57 years, Keith joined her early Sunday morning. His final few hours passed peacefully, after a difficult week and a much longer battle with lung disease. (nee Richardson) Peacefully after a courageous fight with cancer on Saturday, June 01, 2002 at the age of 59 years. She will be more than greatly missed by her husband Richard of 39 years. Her great sense of humour, love and unending sacrifices will surely be missed by her son Jeffrey, daughter Janet and daughter-in-law Kellie. She leaves with us the grandchildren she lived for, Ashley, Jennifer, Christopher and Sarah. She is also survived by her brother Peter Richardson and his wife Ronnie. He was born in Timmins and in 1944 he married Lois (Thompson) in Timmins. A longtime & well known Hanmer resident Joe had been the manager of CUMIS Insurance Co. for 20 years, retiring in 1987. A devout Roman Catholic he attended St. Kevin’s Church and he was a 3rd Degree Knight of Columbus. A proud Canadian he had served overseas with the Canadian Army in the Queen’s Own Rifle Regiment. A real people person Joe was always quick to help others and share his wonderful good humour. The cornerstone of his life was his loving family.
