Lorelei Gaye Beaucage Suddenly and surrounded by love and her family at her side, Lorelei passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2002 at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, Man. from a massive brain aneurysm. Lorelei was born Sept. 14, 1955 in Kenora, Ont., the eldest child of Larry and Gail (Roblin) Beaucage. She is survived by four brothers and one sister, Larry (Rick) and Kathryn of Winnipeg, Man., Eugene (Butch) and Debra of Winnipeg, Man., Jamie and Marion of Saskatoon, Sask., Michelle and husband, Bruce Morton, of Winnipeg, Man., and Darcey and Jennifer of Calgary, Alta. Also surviving are nieces and nephews, Lawrence (Harriet) Beaucage and their two children, Anlina and Jasmine; Dennifer, Lee Raymond, and Josephine Beaucage; Michael (Sherri) Beaucage and their two children, Austin and Justin; Matthew Beaucage; Jennifer Beaucage (Dave) and their daughter, MacKenzie; James (Rhonda) Beaucage and their son, Bryden; Christopher and Ryan Hill, and Jason Beaucage; Kate-Lynne Morton; and Raymond Beaucage. Also surviving are aunts and uncles, Dan Roblin and George Roblin, Linda Yoemans of Kenora, Mary and Don Olford of Kenora, Joyce and Otto Williams of Lac Du Bonnet, Man., Florence and Lloyd Adams, Ed and Marie Titley, and Geraldine and Wayne Boucha, all of Kenora, Carol and Larry Fraser, Gwen Andrews of Ignace, Ont., and Susan and Nick Shiska of Kenora; as well as numerous cousins. She was predeceased by her grandparents, Florence (Roblin) Speaker in 1993 and John Speaker in 1994 of Fort Frances, Ont., Helen and Albert (Pete) Beaucage in 2000 of Vancouver, B.C., and Ada (1994) and Jim Roblin (May 23, 2002); aunt and uncle, Shirley and Charles Boucha of Kenora; as well as cousins. We would like to thank Aunt Geraldine for taking Lorelei to the Kenora hospital, the Kenora hospital staff, the St. Boniface staff in Winnipeg, as well as the unbelievable team of surgeons and staff at the SICU (7th floor) of the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg who worked so hard so we could keep her, but it was not to be. Lorelei attended school and worked in Kenora and Fort Frances, and will be missed by many, including Dino’s staff and friends in Kenora and Fort Frances. A memorial service will be held Friday, May 31, 2002 at 10 a.m. at the Notre Dame Romance Catholic Church (222 1st St. N. in Kenora), followed by a luncheon. Lorelei was cremated, and her ashes will be placed in Grandma Speaker’s grave in Fort Frances at a later date in August. We also want to thank everyone who has helped the family in any way. Prayers have been greatly appreciated. Donations can be made to the Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB). Lorelei Very sad are the hearts that loved you. Silently the tears fall. Living our lives without you will be the hardest thing of all. You did so much for so many. Your heart was kind and true, and when we needed someone, we could always count on you. Lorelei You never asked for anything, you didn’t want to be a “bother,” you worked so hard and got so little. Loving you was so easy, Letting you go is so hard. RODD, "Joan" Olive Jean (nee Colbourne) In loving memory of "Joan" Olive Jean Rodd (nee Colbourne), 76 years, of Levack, who passed away Thursday afternoon, May 23rd, 2002 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital - Memorial Site. Born in St. Anthony, Newfoundland, she married Bud Rodd in 1947 in Halifax. Joan came to Levack from Halifax in 1948. She was a member of St. John’s United Church; in younger years she belonged to the U.C.W. and the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She was a charter member of the Royal Purple Lodge. A keen curler, she was a very active member of the Levack Curling Club, having served on the club’s executive. She was an accomplished knitter, loved the sun and enjoyed dancing. She spent many happy times at the family cottage on Windy Lake. Joan was devoted to her loving family. Beloved wife of Bud Rodd of Levack. Born in Ahtari, Finland where he married Elmi in 1941. They moved to Canada in 1951, he worked as a miner at Inco Creighton Mine for 25 years, retiring in 1982. He played the accordian in a well known band, with Martti, for over 25 years at the local Finnish Halls. He enjoyed billiards, woodworking and his camp at Silver Lake. His lasting legacy will be found in the love and care he shared with his family. (nee Perkins) Margaret Jean Hardman passed away Monday, May 27, 2002 in her 87th year. Born March 11, 1915 and raised in Estevan, Saskatchewan, she was the second of three daughters of William J. Perkins and Margaret Irene Perkins. After completing high school, Jean went to Toronto to train at the Toronto General Hospital, graduating as a Registered Nurse in 1939. She joined the Canadian Medical Corp., serving in England and Italy in the No. 10, General Hospital RCAMC, during World War II. On her return to Canada, she continued in the army until her marriage to Dr. Arthur Cleland Hardman in 1948. Widowed in 1969, Jean came to Victoria in 1973 with her sister Flo and her father. Her activities included serving on the board of her condominium, volunteering for the St. John's Ambulance (for which she was recognized in 1978) and golfing. One of her proudest accomplishments was a hole in one at the Victoria Golf Club where she was a member for several years. Jean leaves behind a grieving family; daughters Patricia and Wendy; grandchildren Erin, Brian and Ian; and sisters Marge and Flo. The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Gilbert McLean and the staff of Glenwarren Central Park Lodge for their care, and to Chris Woodward and Larry Haviland for their assistance to the family during Jean's illness. A Memorial Service will be held at McCALL BROS. Much younger in spirit than her 79 years, Clare departed this life on May 24, 2002. Survivied by one sister, Marion Jordan of Arnprior and four sisters-in-law, Rita Havey of Arnprior, Fran Havey of Toronto, Donna Havey of Arnprior and Maureen Havey of Pembroke. Predeceased by four brothers, Tom, Jim, John and Frank and three sisters, Teresa O'Gorman, Anna Pluard and Genevieve Havey. Clare enjoyed a long teaching career in schools in Geraldton, Colborne, Wellington, Kenora and in Toronto at Western Technical, Oakwood and Humberside Collegiates and with the DND in Soest, Germany. For ten years after retirement, she was a volunteer in the library at George S. Henry Academy, North York. Clare had a positive, enriching and lasting influence on her students, family and friends. She will be greatly missed by her former students and colleagues, her family, including a large number of loved and loving nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews and by her many friends, none more so than Anne Howlett of Toronto. Passed away peacefully at the Sault Ste. Marie Hospital at the age of 73 on Sunday, May 26, 2002 surrounded by his loving family. He joins his late beloved wife Doris Teske of Buckingham.
