MURRAY, Rev. F. Paul Passed away peacefully on Monday, May 13, 2002 at the Port Colborne General Hospital at the age of 64. He will be dearly missed by his loving wife Marion Murray of Wainfleet. Dear father to John Murray of Windsor and Jennifer Walker (Scott) of Port Hope. Loving Papa to Rebekah and Rachael. Passed away peacefully at McIntosh Lodge, Chilliwack, B.C. on Sunday, May 12, 2002 at the age of 86. He will be sadly missed by his daughters Susan, Andrea, Carol, grandchildren Lee, Marc, Rene, sisters-in-law Janet Allison, Martha Johnston, Lynn Cunningham, nieces and nephews and many dear friends. He was predeceased by his loving wife Helen (nee Cunningham) in 1999, son Brian in 1966, sister Mena, and brothers James, Osborne and Robert. Hugh was born and raised in Westmount, Montreal. He was a veteran of WWII and has been recognized for his 47 years of service in the hardware industry in Montreal and Ottawa where he raised his family. He an Helen built a summer home in the Laurentians that became the center for family and friends for over 40 wonderful years. He spent his retirement years with his family in Chilliwack. A Celebration of Hugh's Life will be held on Saturday, May 18 at 11:00 a.m. at Henderson's Funeral Home, 45901 Victoria Ave., Chilliwack. HENDRY, Betty M. (nee Henderson) Passed away suddenly May 13, 2002. Betty was born in Ilford Essex England July 21, 1922. She married James Fraser Marr Hendry of Aberdeen Scotland in 1943. They immigrated to Windsor, Ontario in 1953 and settled in Tecumseh Ontario where she was very involved in politics and civic affairs, and ran the Brownie troop for more than 10 years. In 1970 the family moved to Plymouth, and then Harrison Township MI. She was an active member in the Grace Episcopal Church life in Mt. Clemens where she helped run the food pantry and Women's league. Recently she was an involved member of Trinity Episcopal Church in St. Clair Shores. She is survived by her daughter Mary Elizabeth Robinson and her spouse Gary Grant Robinson of Dexter, Michigan and her son James Henderson Hendry, his wife Suzanne Marie and two granddaughters Sarah Elizabeth and Emily Suzanne of Clarkston Michigan. Betty will be dearly missed by many, for her good deeds and acts of kindness. In lieu of flowers the family prefers that charitable contributions be made to the Humane Society or the American Cancer Society. To celebrate her life, a memorial service in her honor will held on Saturday May 18, 2002 at Trinity Episcopal Church, 30205 East Jefferson, St. Clair Shores

Maurice Tkachyk Maurice Tkachyk, 73, of Fort Frances, Ont., passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2002 at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, Man. He was born Feb. 9, 1929 in Sundown, Man. to the late Alexius and Mary Tkachyk. Mr. Tkachyk moved to Fort Frances in 1948, and worked for Boise Cascade from 1951-1987 as a painter. In retirement, his hobbies were repairing bikes and making lawn ornaments for family and friends. Maurice was predeceased by his first wife, Helen, in 1970; his parents, Alexius and Mary; sisters, Pauline and Ann; and brothers, John, Nick, and Mike. He is survived by his children, Elma Tucker, Larry (Jean) Tkachyk, James (Rose) Tkachyk, and Mary Anne (Darryl) Harris; and nine grandchildren. Also surviving is his present wife, Verna, and her children and grandchildren; his brothers, Peter, Stephan, Walter, and Daniel, and sisters, Lena Dolson, Elsie Bugera, Joyce Hyrnchuk, and Helen (Bill) Gregorchuk. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 18, 2002 at 10 a.m. at Green Funeral Home. Rev. Tony Geense will officiate, with interment in Riverview Cemetery in Fort Frances. Funeral services for longtime Hearst resident Edmondine R. (née Audet) Poliquin, 75, of 527 Prince St were held May 13, 2002. She died May 10 following a heart attack. Born July 30, 1926 in St-Magloire, Quebec, she came to the Hearst area in 1934. Predeceased by brothers Louis Audet in February 2001 and Irenée Audet in the mid-1960s, she leaves her husband Gervais Poliquin of Hearst, sons Joël (Sylvie) and Rémy (Renée Lecours) Poliquin, both of Hearst, and a daughter Chantal (Daniel) Blais of Cantley, Quebec. Also surviving are a brother Lionel (Jeanne) Audet of Hearst, sisters-in-law Denise Audet of Hearst and Laurette Audet of Orléans, and two granddaughters and four grandsons. Rev. Sébastien Groleau officiated the service at the Notre-Dame-de-l’Assomption Cathedral. Interment followed at the Monseigneur Grenier Cemetery.

Guy Bélisle, 219-55 Cedar Street, Kapuskasing, died at Sensenbrenner Hospital on May 7, 2002. He was 70 years old. Mr. Bélisle was born June 25, 1931 in Moonbeam. He worked as a labourer for Spruce Falls until retiring in 1988. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking. Jean Helen Berns died on Monday, May 13, 2002 of breast cancer. Beauty and peace in equal measure were in her face. Many of those she loved were with her, loving her and holding her hands. She was 66 and she did not live long enough but she lived the life she wanted to, in the way she wanted to live it, and she was fulfilled. Of Truro. Passed away May 13, 2002 at her daughter's home in Truro in her 102nd year. Born in Port Elgin, New Brunswick, she was a daughter of the late Charles H. and Nettie Gertrude (Oulton) Read. She was educated in the Amherst Public School system and graduated from Branksome Hall School, Toronto and Simmon's College, Boston. She was employed by the Federal Department of National Defence. During her later years, she resided in Kentville, Nova Scotia. She was a lifelong member of the I.O.D.E.; a past member of the Amherst Golf Club; the Lachine Women's Club; the Lachine Lawn Bowling Club; the Women's Auxiliary of the Lachine General Hospital; the Olympic Chapter I.O.D.E.; the Senior Citizen's Club of Kentville; the King's Historical Society and the afternoon Guild of St. James Church, Kentville. Isabel was the devoted mother of Gertrude Crowell (Bryson), Kentville; Margaret Stewart (James), Truro; Carolyn McStravick (Donald); the much loved Nana of Alan (Kelly) Stewart, Scott Stewart, John (Sylvia) McStravick, Judy (Bruce) Dallas, Steven (Nicole) McStravick, all of Ottawa; Gordie (Debbie) Crowell, Hantsport; Stephen (Nanette) Crowell, Bruce (Amy) Stewart, all of Truro, Linda (Bruce) Chaisson, Fall River; Sandra (Francois) Simard, St. Lambert, P.Q., Peter McStravick, Boston. She is also survived by her brother, Dr. Charles Read, Iowa City, Iowa and 18 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Victor Wylie Silliker; her brother, Dr. Horace E. Read and her sister, Marion Keirstead. No visitation by request. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 16th at 2:00 p.m. in St. James Anglican Church, Kentville with Rev.
