Larry Andrushuk Larry Andrushuk, 64, oF Burriss, Ont., passed away suddenly Monday, Feb. 11, 2002 near Jellicoe, Ont. He was born July 4, 1937 In Portage la Prairie, Man. to the late Peter and Euphemia Andrushuk. Larry moved away from home at an early age, travelling and working throughout Canada before coming to settle in the Devlin area in 1962, where he met and married Sharon Hyatt. Larry and Sharon had one daughter and three sons. Together with the family, Larry ran a hobby farm while working in the logging industry. Larry’s great passions in life were hunting, fishing, gardening, slot machines, and quenching his thirst for knowledge. His greatest joy was to spend time with his grandchildren. Larry was proud of his children and was very pleased with all of their accomplishments. He was predeceased by two sisters, Isabelle Richardson and Mona Latwatt; one brother, Russell Andrushuk; and one nephew, Greg Latwatt. Larry is survived by his wife, Sharon Andrushuk of Burriss, Ont.; four children, Lorraine and husband, Dave Borkofsky, of Anola, Man., Darcy Andrushuk and wife, Jeannette, of Thunder Bay, Ont., and Trevor Andrushuk and wife, Miranda, and Tyler Andrushuk and wife Angel, all of Fort Frances, Ont.; and six grandchildren, Kyle and Terra Borkofsky, Stephen Smith, and Alexandra, Aaron, and Olivia Andrushuk. He also is survived by three brothers, Norman Andrushuk and wife, Lorraine, of Winnipeg, Man., and Nelson Andrushuk and wife, Alice, and Sydney Andrushuk and wife, Barb, all of Portage la Prairie, Man.; and two sisters, Louise Lormer of White Rock, B.C., and Pearl and husband, Richard Shomin, of Lansing, Mich. Also surviving are his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Fern and Angus Hyatt of Fort Frances, Ont.; brother-in-law, Kevin Hyatt and friend Ruth, of Thunder Bay, Ont.; three sisters-in-law, Chris and husband, Gordon Playter, of Thunder Bay, Ont., and Patti and husband, Lance Halstead, and Iris and husband, Randy Gerhard, all of Fort Frances, Ont.; numerous nieces and nephews; and by his dog, Jackpot. Dale Richard Bone Dale Richard Bone, 47, of 577 Osborne St., Fort Frances, Ont., passed away Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2002 at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances. Dale was born Oct. 19, 1954 in Fort Frances and had lived here all his life. He worked in the plumbing and heating business, and also drove truck for Gardewine and Lakehead Freightways. He was an associate member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. #29 in Fort Frances, and he enjoyed fishing and spending time with his friends. Dale will be sadly missed by his wife, Nadine, and three children, Chelsey (Justin), Joel, and Kyla. Also surviving are his parents, Elaine and Doug Bone of Fort Frances, Ont.; brothers, Doug (Melissa) of Dryden, Ont., and Donald (Donna) and David, all of Fort Frances, Ont.; grandson, Logan; his father- and mother-in-law, Sylvester and Shirley Armstrong of Rainy River, Ont.; and numerous brothers- and sisters-in-law and their families, and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Alfred and Elizabeth Gosselin; and his paternal grandparents, Lloyd and Lillian Bone. Memorial services will be held Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002 at 1 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances, with Fr. Eugene Whyte O.M.I. officiating. Cremation will take place in Thunder Bay, Ont., followed by interment in Holy Cross Cemetery in Fort Frances. The honourary pallbearers will be his brothers, Doug, Don, and Dave Bone, and his brothers-in-law, Randy Asselin, Tony Arm-strong, and Les Caul. She is remembered lovingly by her children, Laura Young (Robert Gregoris) of Sudbury, Ontario, Douglas Young (Louise) in Victoria, B.C. and Catherine Dahl (Howard) in Vancouver B.C., and by her grandchildren Erik, Neal, Glen, James, Jonathan and Robert. Born and raised in Leaside, Toronto, she taught at Rolph Road School in Leaside, in Dartmouth, Halifax, N.S. and later at Snowcrest Public School in North York. A talented athlete, she played centre on the ladies' basketball team that won the Eastern Canadian Senior B League Championship in 1962. Also in 1962, she met and married Michael and moved into her life as a Navy wife in Halifax. She did her tours of duty in Halifax, England, Scotland, Ottawa and Toronto before returning to Ottawa in 1983. An avid bridge player, she also enjoyed music, her garden, golf and happy summers at the cottage in Fenelon Falls. Friends may pay their respects after 1 p.m. on Friday, February 15 at the Kelly Funeral Home, 3000 Woodroffe Avenue, Nepean (south of Fallowfield Road). Funeral services for École secondaire Hearst High Grade 11 student Marc-André 'Marco' Girard of Ryland, west of town, were held Feb. 11, 2002. He died at his home, Feb. 7. Born Nov. 14, 1985 in Hearst, he worked part-time and summers at NorBuilding Enterprises. An aggressive goalie for local minor and ESH Nordik soccer teams, he played for the school Nordik volleyball and hockey teams, earned his brown belt in Wado-Kai karate, and was a member of the high-school improvisation team. Known to friends and classmates as "Marco", he was described as respectful, kind, likable, helpful to others, energetic and mischievous. He enjoyed "chatting" on the internet, playing electric bass, hunting, fishing and war games. He was bass player for the rock group Music Inc. which played their song "No Tomorrow" as a tribute during the service. Predeceased by paternal grandparents Marguerite and Evague Girard, he leaves his parents Sylvie Savoie and Donald Girard, both of Hearst, grandparents Olivette and Raoul Savoie, and his sister Marie-Pier Girard of Hearst, as well as many aunts and uncles. Rev. Rémi Lessard officiated the morning service at the Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption Cathedral. Interment will be at the Monseigneur Grenier Cemetery.

Peacefully in hospital on Monday, February 11, 2002 in his 74th year. Dear husband of Winnifred Mae Jones. Loving father of Bill (Mary Ellen), Jim (Roxanne), Sandra (Ken Daly) and Shelley (Earl Zwicker). Grampa will be missed dearly by his grandchildren Melissa, B.J., Jamie, Shawn, Josh, Sarah, Jake, Spencer and Liam. Survived by his sisters Anna Kovar, Helen Pennington and Esther Allen. A private family service was held. Interment of cremated remains to Capital Memorial Gardens at a later date. Friends may make a donation in memory to The Canadian Cancer Society, 1745 Woodward Drive, Ottawa, or C.H.E.O., 415 Smyth Road, Ottawa, greatly appreciated by the family. Velma Russo, 107 Kelly Rd. Smooth Rock Falls, died at SRF Hospital, on Feb. 9, 2002. She was 78 years old. She was born on Jan. 12, 1924 in South River. She was a housewife. She enjoyed fishing, and playing cards. She loved flowers and plants. She is predeceased by her first husband Oscar Mazerolle and her second husband Joseph Russo, sisters Mary and Evelyne and brothers Bob, Walter, Karl and Gordon Maeck. She is survived by sons Michael (Linda) and Joey Russo all of Oshawa; daughters Nadine Raposo and Marie (Paul) Burden all of Cambridge, Deloris (Neil) Pringle of Fauquier; step sons Michael and Joe Jr., all of Oshawa; step daughters Mary Jean (Terry) Leblanc of Oshawa, Carol (Lloyd) Hersey of Guelph; brother Walter Maeck of South River ; 14 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren. Funeral service at a later date and time in Cambridge. Cremation took place at Hillcrest Crematorium, Matheson.
