Peacefully in hospital, with her husband and son at her side, on Saturday, April 14th, 2001 after a long and difficult struggle with cancer. She is survived by her husband Bill and her son Michael of Kitchener, Ontario, also by her step-mother, three brothers and sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews, all living in Scotland. At Betty's request there will be no visitation or memorial service. Devoted husband and best friend of Bonnie Jean (nee Ross) Waddell. Beloved father of Geordie and his wife Katie of Burlington. Proud and loving “Pop” of Courtney and Alec. Dave was the thirteenth of fourteen children. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his sisters Mary Archibald and her husband Dite of Burlington, Christina Bowering and her husband Roger of Burlington, Nan Hunter and her husband Freddie, Jean McEachern and her husband Sam, Isabelle Learie all of Scotland and brother Thomas and his wife Janette of Burlington. Born January 24th 1940 in Greenock, Scotland, David moved to Burlington in 1962. He treated his colleagues with respect and often enjoyed joking with them. He was an avid golfer and was committed to excellence in all he endeavored. He will be greatly missed.
