On Friday March 9, 2001 at the Ottawa General Hospital following a brief illness. He is survived by his wife Wendy and step-children Laura Anne and John (T.J.). He is also survived by his mother Maria Barteska, sisters Dalia and Ruta and brothers-in-law Reid McKiee and Ron Pecuch. A mass and celebration of Kazys' life will take place on Wednesday March 14, 2001 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady Gate of Dawn Church, 1465 Rue De Seve in Verdun, Quebec. Following the service a reception will be held at the Vichy Banquet Hall on Newman Boulevard. At a later date he will be interred at the Anapilis Cemetery in Mississauga, Ontario. A well known Montreal Dentist, Paul served as Dental Surgeon in WWII and as head of Dental Surgery at the Royal Victoria Hospital. Le Frère Jacques Larouche, provincial des Frères Maristes et la Communauté de Château- Richer ont le regret de vous annoncer le décès du Frère Henri-Louis Mathieu (en religion: F. Henri-Louis) survenu dimanche, le 11 mars 2001, à Château-Richer, à l’âge de 95 ans et 11 mois dans sa 78e année de vie religieuse. Il était le fils de feui Louis Mathieu et de feu Amanda Poulin. Né à Beauceville le 18 mars 1905, il fit son noviciat à St-Hyacinthe en 1921 et sa profession perpétuelle en 1928. Il fut professeur et directeur d’école à Dorval, Pont-Rouge, St-Joseph de Beauce, Baie St-Paul, Iberville, La Tuque, Beloeil, Montréal (Champagnat), Lévis, Alma, Montmorency. Il fut provincial de la province mariste de Lévis de 1960 à 1969. Il travailla ensuite à la Maison Générale à Rome comme assistant-économe et directeur de la maison de 1969 à 1976. Il rendit d’autres nombreux services communautaires à Sillery, Ste-Foy, Giffard et Québec. Il était retraité depuis 1983 à notre maison de la rue des Braves à Québec. Il laisse dans le deuil son frère Gérard (Marie- Paule Rodrigue), ses soeurs Béatrice (feu juge Édouard Archambault), Hélène (Raymond Veilleux), Anita, sa belle-soeur Rita (feu Jean) ainsi que de nombreux neveux, nièces, cousins et cousines. Born on January 7, 1917 in Sydney, Nova Scotia, a son of Ronald MacVicar and the former Edith MacAulay. Died March 8, 2001 at the Brockville General Hospital in Brockville, Ontario. He graduated from Acadia and McGill Universities, served with the Royal Canadian Artillery and Engineers during World War II and was an Electronics Engineer with RCA Victor in Montreal and Prescott, Ontario from 1946 until his retirement in 1978. He was a Ham Radio Operator in the 1930s and again in retirement. He also served as a town councillor in Prescott for several terms and was Clerk of Session at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Prescott. He is survived by his wife, the former Mary Critchley of Prescott, Ontario, sons Robert of Ottawa, Donald (Rosalind) of Kamloops, B.C. and Richard (Lisa) of Syracuse, New York; grandchildren Adam, Geoffrey, Erica and Allan of Kamloops, Rachel and Andrew of Syracuse; a brother Archibald of Calgary, Alberta. His parents and a sister Kristine MacVicar predeceased him. Visitation will be held at the Chris Slater Funeral Home, 416 Dibble St. W., Prescott on Sunday. Funeral service will be held at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Prescott on Monday, March 12, 2001 at 2 p.m. Cremation at Kingston with interment at Blue Church Cemetery, Prescott in the spring.
