Born Mabel Gardiner, she was the beloved wife of the late Robert Thomas McLaughlin who she shared a long and loving life in North Bay. Loving mother of Merle Bulger, of Ottawa and the late Neil McLaughlin (Mary and Anna), of Bancroft. Lovingly remembered by her 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter, Atalya who was a joy to her in her final years. She is predeceased by her son-in-law Bazil Bulger and by her brothers and sisters. A long time resident of North Bay, Mabel was an active golfer at the Golf & Country Club, an enthusiastic curler at the Granite Club and with her late husband Bob, a keen duplicate bridge player. A Mass in Memory will be held Thursday, March 1, 2001 at St. Martin de Porres Church at 11:00 a.m. Les was a talented artist, working at CBC Television until his retiremenet in 1980. In hospital at St-Jerome, Quebec, on Saturday, February 24, 2001, at the age of 80. Dear loving father to Maurice, Roger, Louise (Bernard Boucher), Claudette (Michel Reid) and Nicole, all of St-Jerome, Quebec. Also loved by grandchildren Martin, Marie-Josee, Sylvie, Marc, Jason, Cathy, David, Louis-Phillipe and great-grandchildren Emilie, Nicholas and Kelly. Son of the late Eugene Archambault and the late Beatrice Martineau. Survived by his sister Beatrice Tessier and his two brothers, Emile and Guy. Predeceased by his brothers, Oscar, Maurice, Ernest and Herve and his sisters, Claire Green and Marguerite Bertholotte, all of Ottawa. He was a World War II veteran with the 22nd Regiment.
