Loving brother of Mary Reid Hebert, Frances Coghill (Don), and Blanche Gee (Tom). Predeceased by brother Donald (2007). Special brother-in-law of Murray and Jane Ulch, and Clayton and Viva Ulch of Lufkin, Texas. Survived by several nieces and nephews. Edward was a memeber of Cottam Baptist Church and the Kingsville Golf Course. MYLES, James "Jim" Of Essex, passed away peacefully at Hotel-Dieu Grace Hospital, on October 17, 2009, at 78 years of age. Beloved husband of Jean (nee King). Dear father of the late Doug (2003), and his wife Arlene of Port Elgin, Don of Port Stanley, Dave of Essex, Debbie Bridgen and husband Dale of Essex, Darryl and wife Sue of Port Perry. Loving grandfather of Diane (Glenn), Darren, Dan, Becky, Dani (Wes), Stephanie, Kate-Lynn, Dawn, Drew, and Nicole. Great-grandfather of Tori, Matthew, and Lucas. Dearest brother of Pat (Bill) Koleszar, Cathy (the late Glenn) Rawlins, Margaret (the late Pete) Hazael. Brother-in-law of Howard (Carol) King. He will be remembered by many nieces and nephews. Jim was the owner of Jim Myles Electric. He was a Life Member of Kinsmen Club of Essex and a member of the Canadian Historical Aircraft Association. Jim shared his love of Aircraft with his grandson, Drew. He loved gardening and passing on his produce to family and friends. Jim is resting at the Kennedy Funeral Home Ltd. (519-776-7378), 128 Talbot St. N., Essex, on Monday 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Jim's life will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11 a.m. from the funeral home. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gar-dens. MCINTOSH, Ora Winifred (Gable) passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 17, 2009, at the Chatham Campus of the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance. Ora was born in Blenheim 95 years ago to Lillian (Reynolds) and Charles Gable. She is predeceased by her husband Lyle McIntosh in 1990. Ora is survived by her sister Ruth Roadhouse of Blenheim and by her brother Jack Gable of Florida. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Verna Gable of Blenheim. Also surviving are nieces Anne Gammage, Janice Fletcher, Linda Karnas, Debbie Morrill, and nephews John Roadhouse, Garry Gable, Ronald Gable, John Gable, Clark Gable, and Allan Camp. Ora will also be sadly missed by a special friend to the family, Eric Boekhoven. In addition to her parents, Ora is predeceased by her sister Meda Babis, and her brothers Edward and Lloyd. Friends are invited to attend visitation at the Blenheim Community Funeral Home, 60 Stanley Street, Blenheim, on Tuesday, October 20, 2009, from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. A funeral service celebrating Ora's life will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 20, 2009, at 1:30 with Rev. PINK , John Douglas October 23, 1955 - October 16, 2009 John, beloved husband of Jasna Bakic of Calgary, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Friday, October 16, 2009 at the age of 53. Consistent with how John handled life, he battled cancer with dignity, humour, determination, strength and courage. He was born in New Westminster, B.C. and moved to Kamloops in 1961 at the age of six. John graduated from Kamloops Sr. Secondary School in 1973 and furthered his studies at the University of Alberta earning a B. Ed in Secondary Science Education in 1978. John taught for a number of years at Brocklehurst Jr. High School in Kamloops. He pursued a Masters of Business Administration at the University of Calgary and completed his MBA in 1987. John held various positions in Calgary; most recently as a co-founder of Novapure Systems, a company specializing in mold detection and remediation. John was predeceased by his mother Queenie Pink earlier this year and his father Tory in 1965. John has left to mourn his wife Jasna Bakic, daughter Tanja Bakic, sister Brenda Pink and stepfather Tom Lawrie. John, fondly known as "Rooster" is one of those rare individuals that deeply touched so many lives. He will be dearly missed by his relatives and by the extraordinarily large circle of close friends he gathered along life's road. DELVE , Ronald David November 28, 1947 - October 16, 2009 "We will all miss you, Ron." It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Ron. He leaves to mourn his death: his wife of 31 years, Wendy Marie, son Ryan, granddaughter April, mother Isabel and sisters Pat (Bob) and Sandra (Ben), thirteen nieces and nephews and long-time friends Donna and Gerry, Pat and Bill, and Vivian and Al. Ron was predeceased by his father, William Delve. Ron was born in Winnipeg but lived in Calgary since 1973. He was an Instrumentation Mechanic for the City of Calgary at the Bonnybrook Sewage Plant for twenty-six years, retiring in 2007. Ron was a Shop Steward for the I.B.E.W. for twenty- years. He donated blood and plasma at the Canadian Blood Services receiving an award for one hundred and fifty donations. Worshipful Brother Ron was a Freemason and Past Master of Mosaic Lodge No. 176 as well as a member of Scottish Rite and the Forest Lawn Legion. Ron enjoyed wine making, travel, camping, fishing, being a "Handyman-Extraordinaire" and the newly discovered love for "Texas Hold'Em" (he will be missed by his Saturday night poker buddies). Ron was always there to offer a hand and to help in any way that he could. A Celebration of Ron's Life will be held Thursday, October 22, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of MOUNTAIN VIEW FUNERAL HOME. DENNIS SPARROW 1941 2009 The family of Dennis Sparrow is deeply saddened to announce his death on Saturday, October 17th, 2009 at St. Paul's Hospital. Dennis is survived by his loving wife, Norma; son, Jay; daughter, Lisa (Wayne Moellenbeck) and granddaughters Grace and Kate; as well as one brother, Doug (Morag) and their sons, Ron, Graham (Allison), Mitchell and Tim; nephew, Todd (Charlotte); nieces, Tammie (Mike) Smishek, Terri (Warren) Epp; uncles, Alan (Nancy), Herb (Lois); aunts, Barbara, Beatrice; aunt, May Crawford; brother-in-law, Larry (Sheila) Skaros; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and his extended family in Norway. He was predeceased by his parents, Ron and Phyllis; parents-in-law, Norman and Edith Skaros; brother and sister-in-law, Don and Shirley; nephew, Ryan Skaros; uncles, Doug, Merle, and Robbie (Helen) Sparrow; uncles, Frank, Art, Stan, and Cliff Crawford; and aunt, Myrtle Lenson. Dennis had a long and successful career with Sasktel until 1993. He soon started with Westwood Funeral Chapel and worked until his second retirement in 2007. Dennis was a valuable member of the Scandinavian Club, Sasktel Pioneers, Probus club, and the Redeemer Lutheran Church. Dennis will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family and his many friends and associates. In her healthier years, she loved camping on Manitoulin Island and spending her winters in Texas. Playing cards and working on crafts also brought much joy to her life. SGAGGI , Ferminio (Frank) February 21, 1922 - October 16, 2009 Frank, beloved husband of Maria of Calgary, passed away on Friday, October 16, 2009 at the age of 87 years. Frank was born in Urbino, Italy on February 21, 1922. After he returned home from military service during the Second World War, Frank served as a police officer. In 1951 he immigrated to Canada where he met Maria, his wife of fifty-five years, and began his thirty-one-year employment with the City of Calgary. Frank loved being with his family and took great pride and joy in his grandchildren. He also took pride in his homemade wine and looked forward to making it with his family every year. Donald Frederick Hough October 26th, 1960 October 15th, 2009 It is with great sadness, we announce the sudden and tragic passing of our brother, and faithful friend, Donald Frederick Hough. Don was born on October 26th, 1960 in Prince Albert, SK and grew up in Saskatoon, SK. He attended Hugh Cairns V.C. Elementary School where he made some of his lifelong friends. His initials are still in the cement along with those of some of his friends. It was there that his grade seven teacher, Mr. Francis, spotted his talent and encouraged him to sing at school, giving him his first standing ovation. Don's love of singing led to song writing. He showed his natural gift for writing song lyrics and poems. Don made a career of long distance trucking and passed the many hours on the road writing his songs and poems, and like many other writers, would end up writing his ideas on napkins and bits of paper. Don also worked and lived in Calgary for many years making more lifelong friends. Don loved being with other people, he had many happy times singing karaoke and was so happy when others would ask him to sing just because they enjoyed listening to him perform for them. He gave his sisters, Laurie and Shelley, the gift of singing at their weddings. Don gave the last gift he could give by signing his donor card. Don was predeceased by his father George Hough, his beloved mother Orrell Hough and his brother Thomas Hough. He leaves to mourn his siblings; Sylvia (David) Charlton, Doris Spohn, Valerie Williams, Robert Hough, Lyle (Gail) Hough, Janis (Joe) Loseth, Shelley (Rob) Deline, Laurie (Pat) Friesen, as well as his nieces, nephews and the many friends, who were so important to him. Don gave his mom a single white rose when she passed on along with this special poem he wrote for her: While life has taken You down its troubled highway Though the road was long Now that you've come this far You followed the road to Hope, friendship, love and understanding As a seed grew into a beautiful White rose And with honesty and integrity The heavens are now blessed with One more star. As in Don's words, "the heavens are now blessed with one more star". In memory of Don, we ask you to tell your family and friends how much you love them as he so often told us. The chance can be taken away from you in an instant. Please join us on Thursday, October 22nd, 2009 at 2:30 p.m. at Hillcrest Funeral Home (east on 8th Street, turn right before the railway crossing) to celebrate Don's talents for music and humor, and the many happy times he shared with us. BUCK, Laurence Edmund - Passed away at home, Saturday, October 17, 2009, in his 71st year. Beloved husband of Aline, and loving father of Lynn Winfield and Tim Buck. Dear brother of Neil Buck (Barb) of Wiarton, Marianne Van Osch (Walter) of Forest Grove, B.C., Peter Buck (Pat) of Ridgeway, Debbie Buck of Newmarket, and Denise Ott (Peter) of Crystal Beach. Step brother to Martin Koabel (Donna) of Welland, and Pauline Durliat (Larry) of Stevensville. Larry was predeceased by his youngest brother Ed Buck (Melanie) of Stevensville, his parents Ed Buck and Theresa Schneider- Buck-Koabel, and his step father Leo Koabel. Brother-in-law of Jeanine Elfner (Ray) of Selkirk, Pauline Collins (Claude) of Welland, Claudette Kadwell (Glen-deceased) of Welland, Luke Bastien (Cheryl) of Fenwick, Gerald Bastien (Joan) of Wainfleet, Gerry Bastien (Darlene) of Port Stanley, Paulette Patterson (John) of St. Thomas, Victor Bastien (deceased), David Bastien, and Clarisse Beauregard (Roger) of Port Colborne. Larry was predeceased by his mother and father-in-law Alice and Donat Bastien of Port Colborne. He will be forever missed by his grandchildren Katelyn and Chase Winfield, José Teal, and Eric Buck, as well as long time friend, Frank Blackley (Lynn) of B.C. He is also survived by aunts and uncles of the Schneider family, as well as many nieces and nephews. Larry was employed in the lab, at Robin Hood Multifoods in Port Colborne for 38 years. He enjoyed boating in his 1957 Chris Craft antique boat, swimming, bike riding, cross country skiing, antique cars and tractors, reading novels (especially his sister Marianne's), and taking care of his gorgeous homestead. He loved his 22 year old cat Snuggles, and most of all just spending time visiting with his family. He was always building something new, or making something more beautiful, but he always had time to help others when they needed him. He was very hard working, never missing a day of work in 38 years, and a devout Catholic, never missing Sunday Mass. Laurence's family will receive friends at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 179 Clarence Street, Port Colborne on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Vigil prayers will be held on Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at St. George's R.C. Church (56 Ridgeway Rd., Crystal Beach, ON) at 11:00 a.m. with Father Stanley Ksciuk officiating. Margaret Currie, Charlottetown Peacefully at the Prince Edward Home on Saturday, October 17, 2009, of Margaret Currie, age 85 years. Daughter of the late Jack Currie and Alice (Murphy). Beloved sister of the late Blanche MacLeod, Jessie Currie, Georgina Larter, Fred Murphy and Arthur Feehan. She is fondly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. HOSAK Irene Mary (nee Hovey) August 9, 1923 - October 14, 2009 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend Irene Hosak on October 14 at the ACE unit of VGH. She will be greatly missed by her children Carole Lockie, William Hosak (Deborah), Jim Hosak, her sisters Anna Hutchings, Betty D'Andrea and her brother Ronald Hovey. Irene will be immensely missed by her grandchildren Mark and Janet Hosak with whom she spent countless days and family vacations and also her many nieces and nephews. We would like to thank the Willingdon Park Care Centre nursing staff and care aids for the wonderful care they provided.
