TURNER, Larry - A lifelong resident of Erieau, Larry Turner passed away at his residence on Saturday October 3, 2009 at the age of 60. Born in Southampton, son of the late Leslie & Ruth (Warnock) Turner. Beloved husband of the late Jo Anne Currie Turner (2000). Dear father of Wayne Currie & Vicki of St. Thomas, Kim James & Brent of Springfield, Tricia Doyle & Sean Snelgrove of Cedar Springs, and Christopher Turner. Loving grandfather of Chad Currie, Mallory Currie, Elisha Girard, Misty Girard, Wesley James, Taylor Doyle, Kennedy Doyle, MacKenzie Doyle (predeceased November 1995), Nichole Doyle, and Samantha Turner. Brother of Joyce Cain & Ric Robertson of Owen Sound, George Turner of Winnipeg, Marvin Turner & Sandy of Blenheim, Bryne Turner & Sherri of Chatham, Linda Peach & William of Shrewsbury, Robert Turner & Michelle of Blenheim, Debra Durfy & Ken of Blenheim, Richard Turner & Pam of Shrewsbury, and Ron Turner & Debbie of Bowmanville. VAN ACKER, Kyle Louis - a resident of Thamesville, passed away peacefully at the London Health Sciences Centre, with family by his side on Friday, October 2, 2009 at the age of 18. Kyle fought a valiant fight against Cystic Fibrosis for 18 years, he loved music, and guitar playing and hanging out with his friends and family. Beloved son of Cathy Sherman (Dave) of Thamesville, and Rob Van Acker (Cindy) of Chatham. Loving big brother of Teghan and Samuel Sherman. Loving step-brother of Mathew Sullivan, Sarah Jefferson (Joshua), and Melissa Sullivan. Sadly missed by his grandparents Marsha and Don Handsor of Dresden, Lewis and Jean Sherman of Thamesville, and Louis Van Acker of Chatham. Also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins. PERRY, Markwell James - It is with great sadness, the family of Markwell James Perry announce his passing, on Monday, October 5th, 2009, at the Brantford General Hospital. After a valiant effort, he succumbed peacefully, with his loving son and daughter, Douglas and Laurene, and his daughter-in-law Susan at his side. Dedicated husband of Nan for 66 years, and beloved grandfather of Dante Winkler and his wife Paula, Markwell and Kathryn Ottolino-Perry and Evelyne Perry. Step-brother to William Perry and mentor and friend to Wayne Watson. Mark served as President of the Royal Canadian College of Organists and in 2005 was appointed Honourary President of the R.C.C.O. He was past President and Honourary Member of the Ontario Registered Music Teacher's Association. Past Vice President of the Canadian Federation of Music Teachers. Markwell was a dedicated teacher of piano, organ and theory, many of whose students have gone on to professional careers in music. He was past President and Honourary member of the Brantford Symphony Orchestra. He was a founding member of the Brantford Kiwanis Music Festival and in recognition of this volunteer service was appointed an Honourary Member of the Brantford Kiwanis Club. He was also an Honourary Member of the Brantford Musicians Association, local 467. For 53 years Mark was the Music Director at Colborne Street (Heritage) United Church and for more than 4 decades served as chapel organist at Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre. Through all these years Mark helped lift the spirits of families as they faced the loss of loved ones. Friends will be received at the HILL & ROBINSON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 30 Nelson St. Brantford on Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. and Thursday from 12 - 1 p.m. A Funeral Service will follow in the Chapel on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. Interment Lakeview Cemetery, Midland, Ontario. DZIEDZINA, Jacob - Peacefully passed away in his sleep on Monday, October 5, 2009 at the St. Catharines General Hospital- NHS, at the age of 81. Beloved husband of Mary for 54 years. Loving father of Mark. Dearest uncle of Irene and her husband Edward Jurus and Jim Dziedzina. He will be lovingly remembered by his nephews and nieces Jon (Janice), Jerry (Joanne), Joseph (Cairine), Jacqueline (Marc), Kyle, Sam and all their families. He will be sadly missed by his wonderful neighbours and dear friends. Jacob was a retired employee of General Motors for 25 years. MOREL, Père Jean-Paul, C.S.V. 1936-2009 Le père Jean-Paul Morel, clerc de Saint-Viateur, est décédé au Centre Champagneur de Joliette, le 4 octobre 2009, à l'âge de 73 ans, dans sa 25e année de profession religieuse et sa 17e année de sacerdoce. Né à Ville Dégelis, le 24 juillet 1936, le père Morel a émis ses premiers voeux, le 24 août 1985, et a été ordonné prêtre, le 26 juin 1993. Après avoir oeuvré plusieurs années dans le monde de l'éducation, le père Morel s'est joint à la communauté à l'âge de 48 ans, et il a enseigné quelques années au Dondon et aux Gonaïves, en Haïti. Rentré au Québec, il a complété sa formation théologique et, après son ordination, il a exercé son ministère à Rivière-au-Renard, à Ville Dégelis et à l'Île Saint-Igance. Après un séjour à Sainte-Luce-sur-Mer, il s'est retiré, en 2002, à notre infirmerie de Joliette où il vient de décéder. Outre sa famille religieuse, le père Morel laisse dans le deuil ses soeurs Micheline (Jacques Lalande), Charlotte et Nicole, son frère Vallier (Francine Beaulieu) ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces. Le père Jean-Paul Morel sera exposé à la: RÉSIDENCE PROVINCIALE DES CSV 450, AVENUE QUERBES, OUTREMONT 514-274-3624 le mardi 6 octobre de 14h à 17h et de 19h à 21h. MILLAR, Alice McNeil Alice Millar passed away peacefully on Sunday October 4, 2009 at the Elisabeth Bruyere Center (palliative care unit) in Ottawa, at the age of 93 years. Alice was a dedicated Civil Servant for over 30 years in Ottawa and continued to live in the Sandy Hill area of Ottawa after her retirement. She was born in Kingston, Ontario to the late William and Annie Millar (Smeaton). Her sister Isabel Hill (Millard) and her brother William (Bill) predeceased her. Alice's life long friend Albert Bennett (Benny) also predeceased her. Alice enjoyed travelling and had many wonderful trips abroad to Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, as well as, to Florida. Alice was a lover of all animals and especially cats. She also loved music and played the piano, organ and violin. After suffering a stroke in 2001, Alice dearly missed playing her prized Baldwin organ. Alice's sweet and demure ways and sense of humor will be missed by her sister-in-law Alma Millar Charlottetown, PEI, her niece Linda (Millar) and Al MacLean Dundas, Ontario, her nephew David Millard and Norma Levesque Kingston, Ontario and her nephew Charles and Paula Millard of Edgett's Landing, NB. Former F/O RCAF (Women's Division), she served overseas based at Lincoln's Inn Fields, London, England. Former administrative staff member at McGill University, Geology Department, and Hudson High School. Pre-deceased by parents Claude and Maida Gausden (Rutherford), brother Claude and sister Gwenyth (Higgins); husbands F/O William Boyd Reynolds, RCAF, shot down over The English Channel during WWII, and Lt/Col George Ross Robertson, former Commanding Officer, Victoria Rifles of Canada. A kind and generous woman, she was an avid bridge player, world-traveller, dog lover and birder. ALDON ALLAN MORPHET Monday, 5 October 2009 - 2:26pm Tragically, on Wednesday Sept. 30, 2009 in Fort Frances, Ont., Aldon Morphet of Fort Frances, and formerly Alberton Township, passed away at age 64. Aldon was born May 7, 1945 in Lash Township to the late Allan and Doris Morphet. He grew up on the family farm in Lash Township, and attended school in Lash and Emo. Aldon was employed by the Fort Frances mill for a short period and also drove chip truck. He was an excellent welder and mechanic. Aldon often attended stock car races, and was the flag man for many years at the Emo Speedway. He also enjoyed catering for many community “pork roasts.” Aldon will be lovingly remembered by his sisters, Darlene (Cecil) Fletcher of Emo, Ont. and Mary Jane (Stanley) Kruger of Dryden, Ont.; his nieces and nephews, Brian (Sandy) Gamie, Alex (Dorothy) Gamie, Kevin (Aaron) Kruger, Michael (Deanna) Kruger, and Kerri-Ann (Pasi) Pinta; great-nieces and nephews, Brandon Ronmark, Masion, Colton, and Abby Gamie, Caymen, Kyla, Alexis, Cameron, Morgan, Kara, and Ryan Kruger, and Kasey, Brooke, and Griffin Pinta; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. ZUBEC, Albina 2009-10-06 February 1, 1929- October 2, 2009 It is with a great sadness and loss but also with a sense of joy and celebration of a life well lived, that the family of Albina Zubec announce her passing on Friday , October 2, 2009 in the Thunder Bay Regional Health Science Centre surrounded by her family. Albina was born in Port Arthur on February 1, 1929 to Antonio and Guiditta Pizzolato. Her greatest joy was her family and she was most proud of her grandchildren whom she enjoyed spending time with. She was generous beyond fault, possessing a great sense of humour. She genuinely loved people, and had a great belief in her God, taking great comfort in the power of prayer. A hard worker, Albina was employed for many years with Mahon’s Furniture, the Pop Shop and in later years with Dawson Court Home For The Aged. For many years Albina ran the Craft Show at the Valhalla Inn, she volunteered as a canvasser with the DiabetesAssociation, Arthritis and Alzheimer Societies. A great lover of the out-of-doors, Albina enjoyed fishing and picking blueberries. Her culinary skills were exceptional and her perogies and cabbage rolls were the "hit" of many a dinner party. One of Albina’s favourite outings of late was her Thursday’s at the Thunder Bay Casino, a pastime she always looked forward to. Her trips to Grand Portage and Hinkley with her sister Julia and brother-in-law John were times she enjoyed immensley. The last family gathering that Albina celebrated was her 80th birthday, where she sat like a queen, surrounded by her family and friends, eating, laughing over a old photos, reading cards and enjoying everyone’s company. This to Albina was what life was all about....people. She is lovingly remembered by her son Ken (Cindy), daughter Sharon Bobie (Alex), her grandchildren Tara Bobie, Toronto (enroute) and Paul Bobie, Thunder Bay, Kathy Zubec and Sara Zubec of Esconido, California, sisters Julia Talarico (John), Thunder Bay and Rita McLeod, Victoria, B.C., sisters-in-law Helen Zubec, Thunder Bay and Verna Pizzolato, Whitby, Ontario. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Albina will be sadly missed by her four-legged buddy Theo who had Grandma giving in with treats every time he looked at her with his sad little eyes. Predeceased by her parents, her husband Michael in 1981, son Frederick in infancy, grandson Scott Zubec, brothers Mario and Leo and sister Annette. SCOTT, William 2009-10-06 It is with heavy hearts that we announce that William Waldon Scott, age 64, passed away on October 4, 2009. Over the past four years Bill was engaged in a valliant battle with cancer. He met this intruder’s relentless assaults upon him with unflagging courage and determination. Bill was born in Bathurst, New Brunswick on June 30, 1945. The Scott family moved to Smiths Falls, Ottawa and then settled in Geraldton, Ontario in 1958. Bill had a career that spanned 34 years with Kimberly Clark of Canada. Bill loved his years as a drummer with "The Orbits" and then travelling the North Shore circuit with Hector Tremblay’s band. He was an avid sportsman. Over the years he both participated in and contributed countless volunteer hours to the sports of baseball, minor hockey, and curling. However it was golf and the development and expansion of the Kenogamisis Golf Club that became his all consuming passion. His commitment to the organization has left an indelible mark. He was recognized and awarded for his efforts with a lifetime membership in July 2009. Predeceasing Bill are his parents Corinne and Gordon Scott, and his sister Evelyn Bentley. He is survived by his wife Marilyn Theriault (step-daughter Meagan), his daughter Stacy Whalen (Derek), his sister Mary Jane Scott (Jean-Yves), and his sister Nancy Baxter (Bob). He also has a number of nieces and nephews - Cory, Scott, Trisha, Shawn, Jenny, Kevin and Jillian. A Celebration of Bill’s life will be held at the Kenogamisis Golf Club on Saturday, October 10, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations to Northern Cancer Fund - Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation or the Kenogamisis Golf Club would be gratefully appreciated by his family.

DIMITRIJEVIC, Samara 2009-10-06 It is with unimaginable pain and sadness that we wish to announce the sudden passing of our daughter Samara Dimitrijevic on October 1, 2009 in the Children‘s Hospital at the London Health Sciences Centre. Samara was born in Thunder Bay on August 19th 2006. She enjoyed playing with her babies and will be remembered for her compassion and sharing with other children. Samara was predeceased by her grandfather Joseph Trudeau. Samara will be dearly missed by her brother and best friend Tomis, sister Tessa and parents Joelle and Darko Dimitrijevic. She also leaves behind grandparents Maxine Trudeau, Milojka and Milinko Dimitrijevic. She will be remembered by aunts and uncles, Zelka and Jason, Michelle and Paul, Nicole and Teddy and numerous cousins. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday October 8th, 2009 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of the HARBOURVIEW FUNERAL CENTRE, 499 North Cumberland Street, officiated by Rev. Fr. Nikolaos Tambakis. DEAN, Darrell 2009-10-06 1937-2009 The family of Darrell Glenn Dean (Diz) are saddened to announce his peaceful passing at home, on Saturday October 3rd 2009 at the age of 72. Beloved husband of Marg (nee Goegan); devoted father of: Peter, Angie (John Poleschuk), Warren, Lori (Stu Robinson); cherished Bumpa of: Cobey and Jordan Dean, Billy and Tielle Poleschuk, Casey Dean, Troy and Jake Robinson. Darrell was predeceased by his parents Alex and Lilly Dean and only sibling Joan McGinnis. Born in Elfros Sask., he moved to Fort William as a young boy. He attended local schools and was employed at the Ministry of Transportation as a draftsman for 35 years, retiring in 1992. Darrell was and avid sports fan and a supporter of local hockey, all of his life. He enjoyed watching his sons and grandsons play. He was a devoted fan of the "Leafs" whom he never gave up on! Being a family man, he most enjoyed time spent at the kitchen table sharing a family meal with laughter and good-hearted teasing. His grandchildren meant the world to him and was always the happiest when they were around him. In the earlier years, he enjoyed moose hunting with his friends and camping at Blue Lake. Darrell was a kind, quiet and gentle man who was loved by all who knew him. As per Darrell’s wishes, cremation will take place and no formal service will be held. Darrell’s family and friends may gather on Wednesday, October 7, 2009 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. for visitation and reception in Jenkens Funeral Home. DANIELS, Mary (Patraluk) 2009-10-06 April 15, 1920 – October 2, 2009 DANIELS: It is with sadness that we say good-bye to our Mother, Baba, and Aunt. Mary passed away on October 2, 2009 at the age of 89 years. Mary was born in Fort William and was a life-time resident of Westfort. She was the daughter of Mike and Frances Patraluk and sister to Nellie Andrews and John Patraluk and aunt to many nieces and nephews. She is survived by her son John Tarnow (Bev) of Calgary and grandchildren, Chelsey Tarnow, Shannon (Chris) Martin, great-granddaughters, Chantal Steeves, Tiana and Bria Martin. She was predeceased by her husband, Metro (Mike) Daniels, son Michael, sister Nellie and brother John and parents Frances and Mike. Mary‘s love of gardening enabled her to continue working until just a few years ago and she was noted for her preserves and sharing the bounty that came from her garden. She was a faithful member of the Church of the Ascension and volunteered in helping raise funds through the sale of pyrogies. Her home, family and church were her main interests. A visitation will be Monday evening at the Blake Funeral Chapel from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Removal will be made to the Church of the Ascension (corner of Gore and Mountdale) on Tuesday, October 6, 2009 for Panachyda at 7:00 pm. Funeral Liturgy will be held on Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at 10:00 am with Rev. Andrija Petresin officiating with interment to follow at Mountain View Cemetery. ARMSTRONG, Edward Rae 2009-10-06 1926-2009 Ed departed on his greatest journey from St. Joseph’s Hospice on Sunday, October 4th, 2009. He was born on April 24th, 1926 in Ashworth Ontario, the third son of Sarah and Frederick Armstrong. He married the love of his life, Marjory in March 1949. The family lived in Utterson where Ed was active in his children’s lives. He served on the local school board and was involved with the community church, minor hockey and the badminton club. Ed started his long career with Ontario Hydro in Bracebridge, Ontario, moving his family to Thunder Bay in 1966, and retired from the corporation in 1986. Ed and the family spent many happy years at their camp on Lake Shebandowan. Ed and Marjory enjoyed their retirement travelling and spent their winters in Weslaco, Texas. He is survived by his wife Marjory, and daughters Heather Dunk and Nancy Armstrong, his grandchildren Roger Bradshaw, Rachel Young, Heather Bradshaw, and sister Betty Yelland, son in law Alan Bradshaw, family friend Lally Bemben, and numerous nieces and nephews. Ed was predeceased by his daughter Susan Bradshaw, son Fred Armstrong, brothers Gordon and Frederick, and his parents. A memorial service will be held at Knox United Church, Pruden Street, on Friday October 9th at 11:00a.m. In lieu of flowers a donation to the charity of your choice is greatly appreciated. CONSTANT, John D'Arcy - After a long illness, passed away at Leisureworld on Friday, October 2, 2009 in his 78th year. Beloved husband of the late Eleanor (Forbes) Constant, and loving father of John (Debbie) of Vancouver, Janet Baldwin, North Bay, and Robert Constant, Montreal. Grandfather of Nathan and Adam Baldwin, SherryLee, Logan and Candace Constant. Dear brother of Vivian Gallardi (Lundy, deceased) and brother-in-law of Laurie Constant (Ruglas, deceased). Predeceased by his parents Harry Simon Constant and Agnes (Walker) Constant, brothers Vernal and Ruglas, sisters Jean Constant and Marion Smith Jefferson of Spokane, Washington. Fondly remembered by his many aunts, uncles, cousins, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. John will also be remembered by his friends at the Crisis Centre where he was employed for many years before retirement. He loved the game of golf, was an avid violinist and loved all music and dancing. He was very proud of his involvement with AA and leaves behind many friends. At John D'Arcy's request there will be no visitation. Private Memorial will be held, for family, at a later date. After cremation, ashes will be sent to son John in Vancouver.
