O'BRIEN, Paul Matthew - Of Niagara Falls, passed away July 20, 2009, in his 84th year. Husband of Lois Marie O'Brien. Father of Randy (Joan) O'Brien, Terry (Joan) O'Brien, Lynne (Dave) Swinson, Kym (Phil) Cody and the late Shawn O'Brien (1989). Grandfather of Mary and Michael O'Brien, A.J. McLeod, Matthew O'Brien, Craig and Carrie Swinson, Kristine Elia and Andrew Cody and several great grandchildren. Brother of Clara Hammond, Don (Hester) O'Brien and the late John O'Brien and brother-in-law of Kay O'Brien. Paul was a WWII veteran, a teacher and Past President of Niagara Falls Jaycees. Wife of the late George (1975). Daughter of the late Mildred Reid. Step- daughter of the late Gordon Torrance. Sister of Bob Torrance (Mary Jane). DELORME, Jean-Marie - 1935-2009 The family announces with sorrow his death in Sturgeon Falls, Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at the age of 74 years. Son of the late Anatole and of the late Marie (née Roy) Delorme. Former husband of Yvonne Delorme (née Marleau) of Sturgeon Falls. Dear father of Lynn (Gary Fritsch), Daniel (Sonia), Guy (Engracia) and Charles, all of Ottawa. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Stephanie, Émilie, Laura, Isabel, Andrea and Solange. Also survived by his brother Lucien (late Hélène) of Cape Coral Florida and by his sisters, Laurette Smyth (Raymond) of Sudbury, Colette Smyth (late George) of Port Colborne, Thérèse Bogucki (late Simon) of Scarborough and Rolande Farrell (late Bartley) of Sturgeon Falls. McCOY, Doreen M. - On July 19, 2009, at the age of 67, and after a 2 year courageous battle with cancer, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a wonderful wife, mom and grandma, Doreen McCoy. Survived by Alvin, her beloved husband and best friend for 47 years. He, along with her children, were at her side. MELNYK, Annie - Passed away peacefully in her 85th year, on Monday July 20, 2009, at Henley House Nursing Home, St. Catharines. (Beloved wife, 56 years of Andrew). Born in Silver Creek, Manitoba. Moved to Toronto, married Andrew Melnyk in 1953; relocated in Bobcaygeon, and finally came to St. Catharines to be closer to family. They travelled extensively and spent many winters in Weslaco, Texas. Mrs. Melnyk is survived by sisters-in-law Sophie Firman, Jean Baldock, Olga Klym (Joe), Rose Kit (Deacon John), and will be missed also by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Nicola Marchuk and Iryna Pushka, and brother Mike. Mrs. Melnyk was a member of Sts. Cyril and Methodius Ukrainian Catholic Church in St. Catharines, and Myrhorod Seniors Club. CROSSE, Raymond Mackenzie - It is with heavy hearts that the family of Raymond announce his peaceful passing at the Niagara-on-the-Lake hospital on July 19th, 2009 in his 91st year with his daughter Lisa at his side, yet comforted by the knowledge that he is in a better place. Ray was born on November 19th, 1918, to Reginald and Barbara Cross, and brother to John, Marie and Marion in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Raymond was a Wing Commander in the RCAF serving with distinction during the Second World War in the North African campaign and flying missions over Europe. It was at this time that he met his only love and best friend, Margaret Jean, devoted wife of 64 years. Loving and giving father and friend to Cheryl who predeceased him in October 2007, Debbie, and Lisa. Grandfather to Spencer, Chelsea, and Adam; and great grandfather to Hayden. Raymond had a long and distinguished work history in Oakville before settling into retirement in Niagara-on-the- Lake with his family in 1975. Ray always saw the good in everyone and everything and was never one to pass judgment or say a harsh word. His sense of humour and hearty laugh was welcomed by all who knew him well or only in passing. Raymond was passionate about his family, and a caring, proud, and protective father to his three girls, always putting their needs ahead of his own. PAWLUCH, Anna (Pidlesna) - In loving memory of Anna (nee Pidlesna) Pawluch, 84 years, who passed away Monday, July 20th 2009 at the Extendicare-York Sudbury. Anna was born in Kupen, Ukraine. She married Iwan “John“ Pawluch in Germany in 1946, settling in Sudbury in 1949. She was a member of St. Mary's Ukrainian Church and parish CWL. She enjoyed gardening and cooking. An active volunteer for the Ukrainian Senior Citizen's Centre, she often helped at the special events. Anna was devoted to her loving family. Wife of Iwan “John“ Pawluch, predeceased 1991. Loving mother of Mary (husband Harvey Prudhomme) of Sudbury and Henry (wife Natalie) both predeceased. VAILLANCOURT, Richard Albert - Passed away peacefully on July 17, 2009, at age 52, at Princess Margaret Hospital, surrounded by his loving familly, after a difficult battle with cancer. Richard is survived by his mother Lucille (Brouillard), his late father Rejean, and his brothers Serge and Andre and wife Ginette Chenier, and his sister Carole and husband Carlo Berardi. Richard was very proud of his nieces Josée, Geneviève and Sofia, and his nephew Rejean. Richard was a proud person devoted to his friends, career and his future. His love of life, traveling and his fondness of cigars were his passions. Richard Albert Vaillancourt.
