Cherished Grandma of Kimberley (Brent), Kalisa, Andrea, Trisha (David), Conor, Lou, and Orla (Mike). Proud Great-Grandma of Nathan, Jamie, Sydney, Tanner, Charlotte, Cameron, and Chloe. Predeceased by 1 great-grandchild Avery. Mary spent her last few years at the Bearbrook Retirement Home, where she endeared herself to staff and residents alike, especially her close friend Ruth. JONES , Muriel A. (nee Northam) 1942 - 2009 Muriel Annette Jones went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 23, 2009. Muriel is survived by her loving children, Ginger (daughter) and Ronnie and Wendy (daughter) and Chuck; grandchildren: Dustin, Kassie, Amillio, Ryan, Amanda, Isaac and Wyatt. She was predeceased by her husband Leonard, their daughter Lenore, parents Garfield and Margaret Northam, mother-in-law Mae Dupilka and brother Jack. Throughout the many challenges of Muriel's life, she faced each and every one with humour, graciousness and a deep abiding faith. Her walk with the Lord was evident in all that she did as she touched so many lives. Her witness brought many to Christ. Muriel loved to share her joy with others. Any occasion was a reason to gather and celebrate with a party. We believe that heaven has a new social convener and the party will last for a long time. RICHARDS , Dwight Leroy 1916 - 2009 It is with deep sorrow that the family of Dwight Leroy Richards announces his passing at the Colonel Belcher Veterans' Care Centre on Saturday, May 23, 2009 at the age of 92. He was born in Calgary, December 10, 1916 and raised in Arrowwood, AB. Leroy served in the Royal Canadian Navy during the Second World War and worked as a carpenter and with Safeway Canada until his retirement. He leaves to mourn, his sons, Wayne (Carol), Barry (Alice). He will be dearly missed by his grandchildren, Dionne (Renee), Travis (Lily), great-grandchildren, Camryn and Reece and step-granddaughter Carolyn. He is also survived by three sisters, Margaret Dumka, Erma Lawson and Ann Kostenuk and extended family members. He was predeceased by his wife, Hilda Jane, his parents, Dwight and Mertie Richards, two brothers, Gordon and Donald Richards and a sister Lorna Irwin. WAWRYKOWYCZ , Wolodymyr "Walter" July 11, 1922 - May 24, 2009 After a brief illness, Walter Wawrykowycz passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2009 at the age of 86 years. Walter grew up in Western Ukraine and worked on a farm in Germany during the war. He came to Canada in the late 1940's, living in North Battleford and Oshawa before settling in Calgary. Walter worked for the City of Calgary for thirty-three years until his retirement. Although he did not travel much, Walter went to Ukraine in 1992 to visit family and enjoyed that trip very much. Walter was predeceased by his wife Anna in 1990. He is survived by two nieces Mary (Lloyd) Tosczak and Olga (Joe) Bolig; and nephew Mike (Helen) Wawrykowych. PARNELL, Barbara - Peacefully after a brief illness, at Royal Victoria Hospital, Barrie, on Saturday May 23, 2009. Beloved wife of Bill for 56 wonderful years of marriage. Loving mother of Glen (Christine) and Shaun (Kim) and dear grandmother of Lauren, Ryan, Dylan and Liam. Her life-long extended “family of friends” will greatly miss her unconditional love, joie de vivre, and generous spirit. Barbara was born in Cobourg on April 6, 1932, and was a proud Montrealer with superb piano talent in both jazz and classical disciplines. After raising her family in Beaconsfield Q.C., Barbara and Bill moved to Bolton in 1980, where she volunteered on the Bolton Agricultural Fair board. She and Bill enjoyed many winters in Englewood, Florida with fellow snowbirds. In keeping with her wishes, there will be no service. Beloved wife of the late Angus Green (1990). Dearly loved mother of Susan Green and her husband Geoff Hall of Chatham. Nellie will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Emily Green and Shawn and Amie Hall. Predeceased by her parents Albert and Florence (Nettleton) Clark, and brother Edward. As well as several great and great-great nieces and nephews. Nellie grew up in Windsor, moving to RR#1 Embro with her husband Angus where they farmed until his passing. She then moved to Chatham to be closer to her daughter and family. Nellie lived in her own home until last year when she moved to Residence on the Thames Rest Home. As per Nellie's wishes cremation as taken place. MANNING, Margaret - After a richly fulfilling life, Margi crossed over May 23, 2009. Mom did not fear death and is now reunited with family and friends who passed before her. She died of a cardiac event in her home, where she was happiest. Although unexpected it was peaceful. So loving and supportive, Mom will be forever missed by her children and their spouses, Campbell and Jane Manning, Erin and Scott McRae, Megan and Paul Vandeborne, Shanna and Eric Glover. Margi proudly adored her grandchildren, Devin and Paisley McRae, Kiera, Ahmri and Drea Vandeborne and Eliza Glover. They adored their Granny right back. The grandchildren were her best friends and filled her days with happiness and joy. Margi will always hold a special place in their hearts. Margi's sense of humour, love of family and dear friends were her hallmark. These qualities were cherished by all who knew and loved her. McFARLAND, Terrance - of Port Dover (formerly of Brantford) on Friday, May 22, 2009, after a courageous battle with cancer, passed away at his residence surrounded by his loving family, in his 68th year. Cherished husband of Sandra for more than 47 years. Dearly loved father of Andrew and his wife Rachel and Jeff and his wife Diane all of Brantford. Terry was a proud and loving grandfather of Branden, Joshua, Shaina, Pheobe, Grace, Gwendolyn, Shelby, and Cassandra, great grandfather of Madison and Cailie. He will be missed by his brother Dennis of Lions Head, his sister Anne Blackwood and her husband Marty of Trout Creek. Terry will be lovingly remembered by Cathy Kerr of Brantford and Brian and Kim Hammond of Port Dover. Terry was a long time employee of Bell and loved his adopted home of Port Dover; he was an avid golfer and spent much of his time woodworking and carving. His family will sadly miss him and will cherish the memories of the years and laughter they spent together. POLLOCK, John Baird - At home, on Sunday May 24, 2009 John Baird Pollock passed away in his 68th year. Predeceased by his wife Linda Pollock (nee. Anderson). Father of Mary Bohar and her husband Steve, and Scott Pollock. Grandfather of Martha, Anderson, Letitia and Linda. John was a Refrigeration Engineer who spent most of his professional career at Keeprite and Hussmann. In retirement, he kept active as an independent consultant. He was a lifetime member of ASHRAE and RSES. John sang with choirs most of his life, first at Grace Anglican Church in Brantford and most recently with The Mohawk College Singers. Friends will be welcomed at the DWAYNE D.
