Giusepppe Drommi September 23, 1929 - January 14, 2009 DROMMI, Giuseppe Passed away on January 14th at Malden Park Continuing Care at the age of 79 years. Predeceased by his wife Caterina (1998). Beloved father to Rosemarie and her husband Dean Martin, Harrow and Antonio of Royal Oak, Mich. Dearest grandfather of Ross, Luke and Sarah. Dear brother of Vincenzo in Italy and predeceased by his sisters Giuseppina and Francesca and his brothers Antonio, Giovanni and Rocco. Also survived by many nieces and nephews in Michigan, Italy and Germany. Mr. Drommi was a member of CAW Local 195 and retired from Kelsey Hayes in 1989 after 24 years of service. Visitation will be held at the Janisse Bros-Marcotte Funeral Home, 1139 Ouellette Ave. (519-253-5225) on Thursday from 6- 9:00 p.m. and Friday 2 5 and 7 9:00 p.m. Parish prayers on Friday at 8:00 p.m. Funeral services on Saturday, January 17th, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Angela Merici Church for Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m., Entombment Windsor Memorial Gardens. WOOD, Kenneth Charles April 15, 1934 - January 15, 2009 It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Ken Wood on January 15, 2009 at the age of 74 years. Ken was born in Ethelton, Saskatchewan, where he spent his early years before moving to Calgary in his teens, where he attended Western Canada High School. Ken was employed for numerous years as a draftsman with Canada Cities Service before taking early retirement. His love for the mountains took him to Seebe where he ran the General Store. With the mountains in his backyard Ken was able to continue with his passion of painting pictures and wildlife scenes. Ken is survived by his sister Joyce Kaughman; nieces Sheila Peters (Steve); Brenda Kaughman; nephews Brad Kaughman (Peggy); Ron Kaughman (Tracy) and many great-nieces and nephews. Ken was predeceased by his parents Olive and Hank Wood. HUCKSTEP John Joseph - Born Auckland New Zealand 6th October, 1930. Passed away January 17, 2009. He is predeceased by his beloved wife Paula Granato and survived by his sister Patricia Palmer and sister-in-law Faye Huckstep and their families in N.Z. and Paula's, Clifford and Carmen Mallette and family in Levack Ontario. 1955 John immigrated to Toronto Canada and joined the Stock Broker Bongard and Co. resulting in a 35 year career ending as a Head Trading attorney with Gardiner Watson / Dean Witter on the Toronto Stock Exchange trading floor. Through the 70's and 80's John and Paula enjoyed boating with friends and as bridge members and Commodore of the Toronto Humber Yacht Club. A musician for many years he referred to himself as just a small dance band piano player. 1991 John and Paula retired to St. Catharines where John was able to return to a first love of flying and an avid interest in aviation with new and close friends. COOKE, Kenneth Neil - March 17, 1956 - January 12, 2009, 52, born and raised in Halifax, died at home early Monday morning, January 12, 2009. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Teresa and his children, Angela (Sean) Eggenhuizen, Susan (Trevor), David (Stephanie) and Kathy Cooke, all of Sackville. He was proud to be Papa to grandchildren, Jarod, Cassidy and Hope. He is also survived by sisters, Mary Cooke and Liz (Lou) Wagner and brothers, George (Mona) MacAdam, Bridgewater and Frankie Cooke. He was predeceased by his parents, Lillian Marie (MacAdam) and Francis Cooke. Ken was retired after 29 years with Canada Post. SANDERS - Joseph Morris Sanders died peacefully on Thursday 15 January 2009 at age 82, surrounded by family. Born Joseph Morris Srolovitz 7 October 1926 in Calgary, he was raised on a homestead farm near Scollard, Alberta, in a Jewish farming community. Morris attended Thompson and Rumsey schools. In 1941, his parents became proprietors of the Red & White Store in Rumsey, and Morris and brother Ralph continued farming until 1946 when they joined their parents' business. From 1950 to 1959, Morris was a bulk agent of the British American Oil Company in Rumsey. He married Miriam Freedman of Calgary on 5 April 1959. From 1960 to 1975, Morris and Ralph owned and operated Drumheller's Whitehouse Hotel (later Drumheller Motel and Hotel), which they expanded to include an adjacent motel and the Greyhound Bus Depot. Morris served as a City of Drumheller alderman from 1969 to 1971. In 1975, he relocated to Calgary and became a commercial real estate salesman. Morris and Ralph entered the apartment business in 1976. Morris had a congenial smile, a joyous laugh, and a passion for life. He was generous, modest, and pragmatic, and he unhesitatingly helped the poor, visited the sick, and welcomed strangers to his home. He and Miriam loved to travel and saw the world. Morris treasured his family above all else. Morris was predeceased by father Harry Srolovitz (ne Strulovici), mother Mary (nee Rosenzweig), brother Ralph, and son Simon. He is survived by: his wife Miriam; son Barry (Shanno Sen) and children Yuval and Sapna; daughter Alias (Kelly Taylor); son Harry (Kirsten Olson) and children Jonas and Anna; sisters Shirley Corenblum and Helen Dlin; and two nieces and five nephews. Burial services were held 16 January at the Erlton Jewish cemetery with Rabbi Menachem Matusof officiating. The family extends profound gratitude to the Rockyview General Hospital and to his physician Dr. Jacqueline Lewis. WIEST, Francis (Frank) Gregory September 5, 1920 - January 17, 2009 Francis (Frank) Gregory Wiest, beloved husband of Eileen Wiest of Calgary, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2009 at the age of 88 years. Frank was born on September 5, 1920 to John and Eva Wiest in Prelate, SK. Among his many brothers and sisters, he was particularly close to Eva and his late sister Laura. Frank taught school for more than thirty years, spending much of that time as the principal at Moosomin Reserve in Saskatchewan. He married Eileen Magosse on June 8, 1950. Together their pride and joy were their children and, in later years, also their grandchildren. Frank was a kind, devoted family man who was deeply committed to his Catholic faith. After retiring from teaching, he worked for ten years as a commissionaire with the RCMP in North Battleford, SK. In 2001 Frank and Eileen moved to Calgary to be closer to family. Frank will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Frank is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Eileen; sons, Gerry (Lorraine) of Courtenay, BC and Reg of Calgary; daughters, Bernadine (Gary) of Medicine Hat, Annette of Calgary, and Michelle (Tom) of Long Grove, IL; and ten grandchildren. Prayers were held yesterday, January 21, 2009 at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church (1600 Acadia Drive S.E.). ROBINSON, Clifford Brian Clifford Brian Robinson, beloved husband of Harriet Tanaka of Calgary, passed away suddenly on January 13, 2009 at the age of 59. Cliff was born on May 15, 1949 in North Battleford, Saskatchewan. The family moved to several towns in Saskatchewan and Alberta before settling in Claresholm in 1966. From there Cliff moved to Calgary to attend SAIT and worked as a diesel mechanic until he joined the Calgary Fire Department in 1978. He culminated his careers as Captain at No. 10 Station. Cliff loved the great outdoors especially skiing, hiking and scuba diving. Cliff and Harriet enjoyed many adventures together in their travels to Africa, Australia, Central American, and many tropical destinations. Cliff was a dedicated, loving, and caring husbands as well as Harriet's best friend. He was always there to help his family and friends. Cliff was predeceased by his parents Clifford and Adeline Robinson. Cliff will be lovingly remembered by his wife Harriet; sister Rosemary (Nestor, daughter Candace (Marc and children Cassondra and Nicole) and son Trevor (Audrey and children Brandon and Megan); sister Donna (Wayne, son Vince (Cristina), daughter Heather); brother Clayton (Donna, daughter Tamara (Shuane and daughter Victoria)); sister-in-law Veronica (Bob, daughter Lisa, child Kendra); sister-in-law Rosalinde (Ben, daughter Jennifer (Ryan), son Russell). DOBROVITZ, Thomas - Passed away peacefully at the St. Catharines General Hospital on Saturday, January 17, 2009 in his 87th year. Thomas is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Theresia Dobrovitz (nee Mader). Dear father of Theresia Zierle and her husband Juergen and Anna Boutilier and her husband Douglas. Loving Opa of Dennis Zierle (Carolle) and Alicia Boutilier (Brent Raycroft) and great grandfather of Julie Melissa Zierle, Stacy Lynn Zierle, Gus Boutilier Raycroft and Morris Boutilier Raycroft. Thomas was born on February 11, 1922 in Vecses, Hungary where he grew up and married his wife in 1945. After serving in World War 2 he started a new life in Germany where his daughters were born. In 1965 he immigrated to Canada with his family where he loved living in the country and farming. Thomas was a good person with a sense of humour who loved to sing and play cards. ADAMS, Clara Elizabeth - Clara died peacefully at the Timmins & District Hospital on January 17, 2009 with her son Stephen and his wife Wendy at her side. She was born in Toronto, Ontario in 1919, but lived most of her life in Beeton, Ontario with her husband Fred, who predeceased her in 1992, where they operated the Beeton $.05 to $1.00 Store. Clara was predeceased by her brother Bert Smits (Anne) of Toronto. She had recently moved to Spruce Hill Lodge in South Porcupine to be closer to her family. Clara is survived by her son Stephen Adams (Wendy) of Timmins, grandchildren John (Angela Jones) of Ottawa, Ontario and Sara (Ron Lewis) of St. John's Newfoundland and Labrador and 3 great grandchildren, Matthew, Samantha and Christina. Clara will be buried in the Beeton Cemetery next to her husband. The family will receive friends at the Rod Abrams Funeral Home in Tottenham, Ontario on Wednesday, January 21, 2009 form 11:00 am with the service to follow at 1:00 pm. Mrs. Norma Marie Scott March 22, 1933 - January 13, 2009 Halifax, died January 13, 2009, at home after a brief battle with cancer. Born in Baddeck, she was the beloved daughter of the late Norman and Marion (MacDonald) MacKillop. Norma spent her early career as a teacher, which she gave up to become a full time homemaker. The game of bridge was the great love of her life besides her family. Some of her happiest times were around a bridge table, bowling, spending time in Baddeck or getting into some kind of devilment. Norma's summers were not complete without her pilgrimage to Baddeck, where she rejuvenated her island spirit. She leaves behind her husband, Norman; daughter, Wendy (Bill Stewart), Liverpool; son, Tim (Susan), Truro; grandchildren, Scott and Erin Stewart; Laura and Emily Scott; mother-in-law, Marguerite, Halifax; sister, Betty (Donnell Beaton), Baddeck/Bedford; brother, Dr. Jim (Barbara) MacKillop, Sydney; as well as many in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins. Loving grandfather to Kerry Keohane (Lexington, Massachusetts), Dale Lake (Boston, Massachusetts), Trevor Fishbein (Thunder Bay), Travis Fishbein (British Columbia), Ivan Lukianchuk (Waterloo, Ontario) and Katrina Lukianchuk (Kenora). Great-grandfather to Hadley, Hannah, Madison, Gabriella, Mikayla and Tyler. Also survived by sister-in-law Sarah Fisher and brother-in-law Lou Velin as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, he relocated to Thunder Bay (then Port Arthur) in 1946 and was always proud to call it home. He was the owner for many years of Charles Furs. He was a veteran of World War II and a long standing member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 5. He will be greatly missed by his family. A private family service will be held.

TODD, Timothy (Tim) James September 28, 1939 - January 12, 2009 Our loving father, husband and friend passed away peacefully at the Peter Lougheed Hospital ICU, on January 12, 2009. What we will all miss most of all is his laughter and mischievous sparkling brown eyes. He was always teasing and laughing with his friends and family. These times were always the most important part of his life. Tim is survived by his wife and best friend Marleen and his four children Taralee (Tom) Todd, Tanya (Tim) Price, Tedi-Jo (Rick) Gardner, Tim (Rita) Todd, along with his four grandchildren Kimberlee (Jason), Amanda, Jeff and Rob and great-grandson Dylan and many relatives and friends. Tim was born in Stettler, Alberta on September 28, 1939 and married his soulmate Marleen Harvey in 1964. He spent his younger years working on the oilrigs throughout Alberta. In 2004 he retired from a thirty year career as an airline sheet metal mechanic with Field Aviation, Pacific Western Airlines, Canadian Airlines and Air Canada in Vancouver and Calgary. Throughout his life Tim was very active in playing softball and hockey and always spent time hunting and fishing with excellent results. His family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the many nurses and doctors in ER and ICU at the Peter Lougheed Center and a special hug to Deb Bosley who made this very sad time bearable for us all.
