Willis Roy Dickison The death of Mr. Willis Roy Dickison, husband of Grace Mauline (MacAllister) Dickison, of Miramichi, NB, occurred on Sunday, December 7, 2008 at the Miramichi Regional Hospital after a brief illness at the age 78. Born in Newcastle, NB, he was the son of the late Roy and Ella (Cornish) Dickison. Willis was a member of St. James and St. John United Church, Newcastle, worked as an accountant for the Bank of Nova Scotia for 10 years before becoming Clerk-Treasurer for the former Town of Newcastle, where he retired after 33 years of service. Willis has been involved in various group and organizations where he was a Cub Leader, past chairman and member of the Board of Directors of the Miramichi Hospital, past chairman and member of Legal Aid Appeal Board of Northumberland County, charter member, past president and life member of the Newcastle Kinsmen Club, member of the K-40 Club. Present treasurer and member of the Board of Directors of the Miramichi Golf & Country Club, former treasurer of Newcastle Community Services (the Beaverbrook Foundation) and Newcastle Recreation Council, past president and member of the Newcastle Curling Club,former Municipal Emergency Measures Co-ordinator, Commissioner of Oaths and Member of the Highland Society of New Brunswick at Miramichi. He has been recognized by the Canadian Association of Municipal Administrators, the Associations of New Brunswick Towns, Association of Municipal Administrators of New Brunswick. In 1992 Willis received the Rotary International Paul Harris Fellow award. Besides his wife: Grace, Willis is survived by: two daughters, Sandra Harding (John) Pamela Thomson (Robert); two sons, Roy (Ellen) and (Willis) Dodie (Ann) all of Miramichi, NB; nine grandchildren, Jason, Jennifer, Andrea, Megan, Kendra, Kelsey, Dane, Jonathan and Victoria; one great grandchild, Lauren; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents: Willis is predeceased by one sister, Shirley Morrison and infant brother, Moran. The family received visitors at Bell's Funeral Home on Monday from 7 to 9 PM and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. The funeral service was held from the Sterling Bell Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at 11 AM with Rev. John Fraser officiating assisted by: Rev. Ronald Feltmate. Organist/Soloist was: Jacqueline Allain. Solo's were "Make me a Channel of Your Peace" and "Be Not Afraid". Congregational Hymn was: "How Great Thou Art" and Recessional Hymn was: "The Day Thou Gavest" Readers were granddaughters, Andrea Dickison and Jennifer Harding; Words of Remembrance by: Clarrie Hale. Active pallbearers were grandsons, Jason Harding & Dane Dickison, son in law, John Harding, Pat Diotte, Doug Chase and Clarrie Hale. Honorary pallbearers were, Bev Bawn, Murray Allen, Charlie Green, Danny Henderson, Dickie Roy, Bruce Morrison, Robert Underhill and Gib Watling. SMITH, Bernice Faye (Lambchops) - After a lengthy illness on Sunday December 14, 2008 at 70 years of age. Predeceased by her husband Calvin in 1992. Loving mother of Cindy Kellett (Ross) of Kitchener, Kevin Smith (Cathy) of Ottawa and Penny Kagai of North Bay and grandmother of Michael (Leanne), Brian (Ashley), Kate and Dre. 'Lambchops“ was an avid CB radio operator and for many years was a member of the North Bay Bowling Association playing in the Wednesday night mixed league. She enjoyed an eclectic taste in music as well as baking and taking in stray animals that needed a home and some loving. James in 1998, by her mother Ida Hill (nee Beckett) , her father Herbert Hill, sisters Thelma Hill, Phyllis Neilson, Iva Blanchard, and brothers Osborne Hill, John Hill and Jim Hill. She leaves behind her sisters Mildera Paquette, June Dean, Wilda McLaren and her brother Velmore Hill. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Betty Taylor (Bill) and son Lanny James (Ruth). Sadly missed by her 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild. HOLMAN-ARTHURS, Nancy Lee - Passed away at age 53 on December 12, 2008 at her home in Powassan surrounded by her family and caregivers. She leaves her loving sons Evan, Lucas and Steven and mother-in-law Barbara Rogers of Powassan. Pre-deceased by her dear husband James Norman Arthurs 1956-2006. Also pre-deceased by her parents Merle Russell Holman (1925-1995) and Anne Priscilla Holman (1926-2008). Beloved sister of Steven Holman, (wife Nancy) and aunt of Christopher and Emma of Burlington. Dearly missed by stepson James of Morrisburg, brother-in-law Robert of Restoule and sisters-in-law Joan Brett of Belleville, Juanita Arthurs and Frances O'Halloran (husband Jim) of Prescott. Also missed by dear friend Michael Kornas, who was a pillar of support in so many ways .Nancy's final journey was not an easy one, and the family expresses its heartfelt thanks for all the support provided by the North Bay Palliative Care Network, Heather McGuinty of the North Bay CCAC, VON staff Pam Anderson and Cindy Craig, the Red Cross, Bonnie Steinman and countless friends, neighbours and co-workers. Nancy was born in Toronto and moved north in 1997 with Norman to raise the children in their rambling century home in Powassan. She loved her community and was delighted to be close to the family cottage at Restoule, where she spent her final summer. Nancy was a dental hygienist who retired from the Dental office at CFB North Bay in 2007. She was a valued employee and colleague to many staff at the base. WILDE, Norman Wesley Died peacefully on December 3rd, 2008 at Park Place Retirement Residence in Ottawa, ON, at the age of 99 years. He is survived by his two children, Renata F. (late Jerome) Holland of Maynard, MA, and Norman W.G. (Maria Teresa) Wilde of Pensacola, FL; his sister, Margaret Elizabeth Geddes of Winnipeg; his grandsons, David A. Holland of Bedford, MA and Stephen D. Holland of Ames, IA; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Renata Rebecca (nee Doern) in 2003. Born in Winnipeg on June 8th, 1909, Norman Wilde served as a Flying Officer in the RCAF during the Second World War. Albert J Richard 1913-2008 A l'Hôpital régional Dr-Georges-L-Dumont de Moncton, le lundi 15 décembre 2008, à l'âge de 95 ans est décédé Albert J. Richard, domicilié à Cap-Pelé. Né le 4 juin 1913 à Petit-Cap, il était fils de feu Anastas et Anna (LeBlanc) Richard. Comme jeune homme, Albert a travaillé dans les États-Unis avant le fait de se rendre au Cap-Pelé, où il a rencontré et s'est marié avec Edmée LeBlanc. Ils ont commencé leur famille de quatre fils et de quatre filles avant le fait de déplacer à Pictou, Nouvelle-Écosse. Albert a travaillé pour les Industries Ferguson (les Chantiers navals de Pictou) depuis 35 ans avant de prendre sa retraite et retourné à Cap-Pelé. Il manquera beaucoup à ses trois filles: Lorraine MacInroy (Ken) de Sardis, C-B, Anna Seeley (Grant) de Baring, ME, Judith Stewart (Donald) de Scotsburn, N-É; deux fils: Alyre de Cap-Pelé, et Ernest (Donna) de Red Deer, AB; une soeur Baselice ''Bessie'' Cyr (Arnold) de Pictou, N-É, un frère Léo (Armance) de Stoneham, MA; cinq petits-enfants, dix arrière-petits-enfants, ainsi que sept arrière-arrière-petits-enfants. Il laisse aussi dans le deuil les enfants de sa deuxième femme Lucille; Gloria Richard (feu Normand) de Petit-Cap, Clovis Jacob (Maryse) et Elsie Jacob (Rhéal Poirier) de Shédiac, Eddy Jacob (Lee) de Grand-Bay, et Dina Jacob de France; ainsi que plusieurs beaux-petits-enfants et beaux-arrière-petits-enfants.
