GYTON, Gregory Malcolm After a three year struggle with kidney disease, Greg died on Saturday, October 25th, 2008, at his home on Prince of Wales Drive in Ottawa at the age of 62. He received excellent care in his home during much of this time. Greg was born on February 20th, 1946, in Montreal and grew up in Lachine and Pointe Claire, Quebec. Upon graduating from John Rennie High School, Greg attended the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton, graduating with an Arts Degree in 1967. Greg entered the Federal Civil Service in Ottawa that year and worked within a number of departments and agencies, retiring as Vice President at the National Capital Commission in 1996. He resided in Ottawa throughout his Federal Service. Greg inherited his parents' cottage near Duhamel, Quebec, and spent many great days there before and during his retirement. He also loved photography, technology and gadgets. Greg's parents Kenneth and Dorothy predeceased him. He is survived by his brother, David, of Richmond, B.C., a nephew, Mark, of Vancouver and the two significant friends of his life, Danny Yeo and Robert Duval. LABELLE, Nicole Of Ottawa. Peacefully at Montfort Hospital on Monday, October 20, 2008. Born February 25, 1947, Nicole is survived by her only daughter Genevieve Pierrette Tessier of Miami, Florida. Remembered by her brothers Pierre and Jill (Scott), Michel and Micheline (Cayer) and Richard and Barbara (Dylla). Mourning the loss of "Tante Nicole" are nieces Natalie, Michelle and Dominique, nephews Francois, Christopher and Nicolas and grand nephews Liam and Luke. Nicole was the oldest child and only daughter of the late Fernand Labelle and Pierrette (Dugal) Labelle. MOXON, John N. 'Jack' C.A. Very suddenly at his home in Perth, on Sunday, October 26th, 2008, (Born in North Toronto, Jack attended John Ross Robertson and Lawrence Park Collegiate schools, which he remembered with great pleasure). Dearly loved husband to Peggy in a 58 year long and happy life together. Wonderful and funny father to Douglas of Toronto, Elizabeth (John Bozek) of Berkeley, California and Blair (Suzanne) of Kanata. Very proud of and loving grandfather to Alex and Eric Moxon and Sam and Oliver Bozek. Jack will be missed by his sister Joan Hewitt of Toronto. Jack moved to Ottawa and then to the Upper Scotch Line, Perth, Ontario in 1974. Here, he and Peggy bought a farm as a week-end retreat, later becoming a permanent home. STEWART, William Robert (Bob) Died peacefully at age 83 at Winnipeg Grace Hospital on October 24, 2008. Bob was the beloved husband and best friend of Peggy (nee Hooper) and loving father of Ian, Cathy, Margaret, Frances and Jim. Bob was a 1951 graduate of Carleton University, a WW II veteran and a career soldier. He was an avid outdoorsman and a wonderful grampa to 8 grandchildren. OBITUARY ARTHUR JAMES CLEMENTS, SR. Passed away on October 23, 2008 at Royal Columbian Hospital, New Westminster, at the age of eighty-six years. Art was predeceased by his wife Edith Isobel Froud; parents, James Henry Clements and Agnes Kerry; brothers William (Bill), Albert, Robert (Bob), Roy and Norman; and sister, Muriel. Dad will be lovingly remembered by daughter Muriel D. Joyal (Barry R.) from Mission, BC; son Arthur James (Patricia) from Penticton, BC and his brother Gib (Ann) from Laval, Quebec; sister-in-law Hazel (Froud) Thiebaud (Paul) and many other family members in Quebec and Ontario. Dad had many hobbies and was very crafty. He loved to do crosswords, especially Sudoku. OVANS, Katharyn Thurston. Passed away quietly on October 25, 2008 in the Huntingdon County Hospital at the age of 65 years. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Gordon Ovans, her parents Mary and Humphrey Thurston, her brother Francis Thurston and her sister Bernadette Vaincourt (late wife of Merle). She is survived by her children Alan, Nora, Rodney (Tina) and Terry (Carole), her grandchildren Ashley and Anthony Ykema and Melanie Ovans and five step-grandchildren. Also siblings Florence Irving, Jeannette (Fred Punt), Edmund (Carol), Irene Dumas, Orrick (Sharon), Lyman (Donna), Ann (Martin Holmes), Glenn (Madonna) and Donald (Lynn), many nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by her best friend John Bolduc. JONES, Margaret Virginia Catherine Our beloved mother "Vee" passed away peacefully at Fischer Place in 100 Mile House, Thursday, October 23, 2008. She has joined Dad who left us September 20, 2008. She is also predeceased by her sisters June Sherman and Shirley Kemp. She will be forever missed by her children Theresa (Barry), Evan (Anita) and Melissa, Blake (Darcy), Maureen and grandchildren Rebecca and Hannah. Vee is also survived by her sister, Iris Pillidge of Calgary and numerous nieces and nephews. On September 13, 1924 Vee was born to Cora and William McFarlane in Calgary. She enjoyed her days with her family/sisters at Bragg Creek during the summers. John and Vee were married in 1955. They raised their family in North Vancouver. She had a passion for sports, speed skating, bowling and skiing. She was an accomplished cook and seamstress, but her greatest love was for her family. BOIVIN / BELDING, Rosanne - With heavy hearts the family announces the passing of Rosanne Laura Marie Boivin, after a brief illness, peacefully, August 5, 2008 in Vancouver B.C. A free spirit, Rosanne, born October 18, 1969, moved to the Vancouver area to pursue dreams and goals. Predeceased by her parents, Vivian Boivin Turcotte and Benoit Boivin. She is survived by her brothers Ray (wife Linda) Boivin of Kenora, Roy (wife Pamella) Boivin of Windsor, Ricky Boivin of North Bay , Randy Boivin of North Bay and step-sister Joann McAughy of Burks Falls. She has many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will sadly miss her and fondly remember her. She was the cherished friend and partner of Ken Larson of Vancouver. Of her, he writes: this spitfire lived her to short life with a zest and vitality second to none and openheartedly helped anyone in need. Always a hard worker and an avid entrepreneur, she was working for the last ten years in construction safety. She will be remembered by co-workers, friends, loved ones and especially her chosen partner, Ken Larson, “forever and a day”. Everyone lucky enough to make her acquaintance was touched by her. TUNNEY, Birgit Gabrielle. Peacefully at Northumberland Hills Hospital on Thursday October 23, 2008 at 60 years of age. Birgit will be forever missed by her husband Pat, and her children Patrick (Evelyn) and Colleen MacDonald (Bob). Beloved “Old Ma“ to her first grandchild Jamieson and sadly missed by her Grandpug Paisley. Also missed by Evelyn's children Colin, Brandon and Lucy Schenk. Daughter of Maria Schmachtel of Kitchener. Dear sister of Iris Martinek (Otto), Ute Guilhauman and Heiko Schmachtel. Predeceased by siblings Gilda Werner, Sylvia Berg, Dirk Schmachtel, and Ingo Schmachtel. Birgit will also missed by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Birgit was a life long lover of animals, particularly dogs and horses and also enjoyed raising farm animals. She was an avid gardener and a fabulous cook, and enjoyed using her fresh produce to make delicious home-cooked meals for those she loved. Her generosity meant that there was always plenty for anyone who stopped by. Strong minded and direct, it was unusual for her to back down from a battle of wits. She had a kind heart although she always put up a tough façade, even in recent months despite her illness. Friends and family are invited to attend a celebration of Birgit's life on Saturday November 1st from 10am-1pm at St. Mary's Separate School Auditorium in Grafton. Eleanor was a member of the Laurentian Lodge Club in Prevost, (Shawbridge); where she loved to pass each winter weekend, Cross Country Skiing. She so enjoyed the Members, and the Staff of the Club. Eleanor drove for Meals On Wheels, before she became blind with macular degeneration, at age 96. Eleanor also worked as a volunteer, at "Au Petit Cafe" with a team of waitresses; in the Cafe, to raise funds for the Victorian Order of Nurses. Eleanor had in the past been an active member of the University Women's Club; having graduated in 1930 from The University of Toronto with a degree in Household Science, with a career as a Dietitian. Eleanor's second career (from age in her 50's to 70's), was a Librarian, and Bookmobile Driver, for the McLennan Travelling Library, of McGill University. All the English population in outlying areas of Quebec benefitted from this service of this Library; and the books were greatly appreciated. First, thank you to Eleanor's neighbours and to her home live-in Caregivers, for all their thoughtfulness. Many thanks also to the Staff at The Sunrise Residence of Beaconsfield, for making Eleanor's stay there so cheerful in her new home, and for their wonderful care and kindness. Thanks also go to the Staff in the Emergency and on the First Floor at the LaSalle General Hospital, for all their gentle care. JOHNSTON, Wilfred Henry Passed away at the Peter Lougheed Hospital on October 23, 2008 at the age of seventy-four. Wilfred was born February 17, 1934 in Fairford, Manitoba. He was loved dearly and will be missed by his family and friends. Wilfred was predeceased by his wife Alma, parents Alphonse and Sarah Johnston; sister Madeline, brothers David, Norman; daughter Deborah; and son-in-law Jim Osmond. He is survived by five sons, two daughters, fifteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. Wilfred leaves behind many nieces, nephews and friends. He was a devoted husband of over fifty years. His love for baseball was his passion and coaching his grandson Danny. There will be a Mass at St. Mark's (5552 Madigan Drive N.E.), Calgary at 11:00 a.m, on October 29. CLACKETT, William “Bill“ Wayne - A resident of Dover Township, Bill Clackett passed into our loving Father's arms on October 24, 2008 at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance after a courageous two year battle with bladder cancer. Bill was born in Windsor, 72 years ago on September 16, 1936, son of the late Garnet (1955) & Wilhelmina (Monk) Clackett (1988). His smile, companionship, and love will be truly missed by his wife of 51 years, Ruth (Hamil) Clackett; son Wayne Clackett, his wife Dawn, and their children Melissa, Crystal, Sarah, and Brandon, of Coldstream; son Paul Clackett, the late Jo-Ellen (2007), and their daughter Katelyne, of Chatham. Dear son-in- law of Elsie Hamil of Chatham, and the late Ervin Hamil (1999), and brother-in-law of Helen Massecar, and her late husband Rick (2001). Cherished uncle of David Shaw, his wife Cheryl, and their daughters Natasha and Shae-lynn; Carol Vanderhaeghe, her husband Brian, and their children Ashley and Bryce. Bill retired from Union Gas Limited as Supervisor, New Construction, with over 40 years of service. For many years he was a member of Dover Rod & Gun Club, Royal Canadian Legion Card Players, Chatham Hi Neighbour Square Dance Club, Wallaceburg Baldoon Squares Dance Club, Petrolia Shiloh Buckles & Bows Square Dance Club, and Union Gas Golden Genies.
