Donald Reid DORCHESTER CAPE - The death of Donald Reid, age 70, of Dorchester Cape, NB, occurred suddenly at his home on Sunday, April 22, 2007. BRONISZEWSKI, DOMINIC ALEXANDER - The death of Dominic Alexander Broniszewski, loving husband of Rosemary (Walton) Broniszewski, of Hickey Road, Saint John occurred on April 20, 2007 at his residence with his family by his side. Born 1920 in Montreal, PQ, he was the son of the late Stanislaw and Bronislava (Grabowska) Broniszewski. He was a veteran of WWII. Dominic worked as a Longshoreman with the International Longshoremen's Association for 30 years, retiring in 1985. Besides his loving wife Rosemary, he is survived by his sons, John Broniszewski and Joseph Broniszewski, both of Saint John; daughters, Norma Griffin (Bernard) of PEI, Sandra Walton (Donald) of Saint John, Mary Goobie (Brian) of Quispamsis, Veronica Barry (Steven) of Saint John and Theressa Vicente (Carlos) of Fredericton; brother, Frank Broniszewski of Montreal, PQ; several grandchildren; several great grandchildren; extended family; several nieces and nephews and many friends. David Wallace Murray Tweedie 1907-2007 Kouchibouguac, NB - David Wallace Murray Tweedie, husband of the late Corena (Mitton) Tweedie, of Kouchibouguac, NB, passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2007, at La Villa Maria, St. Louis, at the age of 100. He was the son of the late William and the late Helen (Potter) Tweedie. Wallace had been a Fisherman until 1956, he then went to the Dept. of Highways as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, having obtained his professional ticket at the age of 60. After retirement, he was a Jack of All Trades, doing mechanical, electrical, and carpentry work for the community. Wallace was a member and Church Elder of St. James United Church in Kouchibouguac. He was Past Master of St. Andrew's Masonic Lodge No. 16 F & AM, and was a former member of the Eastern Star. He is survived by one daughter, Susan House (late John) and her partner Ed Cretzman of Lively, ON; three sons, David (Kathleen), Hampton, NB, Murray (Diane Hicks), Kouchibouguac, and Stephan (Gayle) of Moncton. Also by his sister, Inez Jenkins (late Elmer), Napan; ten grandchildren, Krista, Heather T., Pam, Heather L., Robbie, David, Jennifer, Jonathan, Catherine, Connie, Christian, and Breannah; ten great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. POIRIER, CHARLES - The death of Charles Poirier of Hampton, husband of Lucy (Beaudry) Poirier occurred unexpectedly, April 22, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. He was born in Dalhousie, son of the late Arthur and Marcella (Lavigne) Poirier. Charles was a supervisor at Irving Pulp and Paper, retiring in 2005. He loved music and playing the guitar. MILTON, ARNOLD W. (1921-2007) - Arnold W. Milton, 86, of Moncton, passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Sunday, April 22, 2007. Born in Moncton he was the son of the late Manning and Annie (Ward) Milton. Arnold retired in 1980 as Outside Foreman Storage Dept., CNR. He attended Berry Mills Baptist Church. He was a veteran of W.W.II having served overseas with the Royal Canadian Navy. Arnold was an active member of the Riverview Volunteer Fire Dept. for many years. He is survived by his wife, Annie Briggs-Milton; his son, James Milton (Joyce) of Quispamsis; his two grandsons, Scott of New Liskeard, ON, and Trent of Halifax; step children, Malcolm F. Basil is the son of the late Walter and Ivah (Lewis) Atkinson. Loving father of Pam Atkinson of New Brunswick, Rebecca Atkinson of Chatham, Ivy (Pete) Johnston of Port Lambton, Tamara (Jeremy) Hall of Merlin and Richard (Bobbi-Jo) Atkinson of Waterloo. Grandfather of Adam, Megan, Josh, Brittany, Brendan, Brayden, Brinley. Dear friend of Bill Fields and Ella Cassie. Brother of Leonard, Jerry, Gordon and June. Predeceased by brothers, Brian, Stanley and Floyd. Basil will be missed by many nieces and nephews. He was an active member of the Ontario Five Pin Bowlers Association, Canadian Ten Pin Federation and an avid fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs. Born in Saint John on June 4, 1910 a daughter of the late Walter and Alberta (Thomson) Wayne. She will be sadly missed by her nephews, Richard (Elsie) Wayne and David Wayne; a niece, Shirley Nightingale; several great nieces and nephews; all of the Urquhart and Cain families; and her wide circle of friends. Millie was a past president of Thistle St. Andrew's Curling Club, a member of Westfield Golf and Country Club, as well as a past president and member of U.C.W. of St. Mark's United Church. She was an organist for South-Bay United Church for 12 years and taught piano to a large number of students. Besides her parents, Millie was predeceased by her first husband, Marshall Urquhart; her second husband, Percy Cain; and two brothers, Harvey and Harry Wayne. GOOLD, BARB - Barb Goold of St. George Street, Sussex passed away at her residence on Friday, April 20, 2007 at the age of 75, after a valiant fight with cancer. Born in London, Ontario on March 8, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Ellen (Findlay) Stringer. Barb is survived by Arthur, her beloved husband of 51 years; three daughters, Pam Goold, Shari Brenan and her husband Fred, and Karen Goold, all of Sussex; her brother, Robert Stringer of Sussex Corner; four grandchildren, Callie Northrup, Nathan, Kate and Megan Brenan; as well as several nieces and nephews. Barb was predeceased by her infant daughter, Cynthia Louise who passed away in 1958; and by her sister-in-law, Annie Stringer who passed away in 1993. Barb spent her life raising her family and working alongside Art at Goold's Nurseries. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church where she was a former Sunday School Teacher. IRELAND, Jean - After a short but courageous battle with cancer, peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family on Friday, April 20th , 2007, at the age of 73. Beloved wife of George for 52 years. Loving mother of Geoffrey (Christine), Gillian Bulbeck (Bill), David (Karen) and Pamela Woods (Harry). Cherished grandmother of Lisa (fiancé Justin), Gemma, Jessica, Jonathan, Christopher and Jacqueline. Predeceased by her parents James and Emily Clynes, and her brother James Clynes. She will be forever remembered by many relatives and friends in England, Canada and Australia. Jean was born in Leeds, England in 1933 and remained there until she and George brought their three youngest children to Welland in 1974. Their eldest son followed shortly thereafter with his family. After lovingly raising all of her children, she eventually decided to put her compassionate and caring skills to further use by working as a homecare worker for the Red Cross, until her retirement in 1998. Upon retiring, Jean enjoyed spending her spare time reading, hosting and attending many family gatherings, her and her husband's daily “Timmy's” outings, and enjoying nature and the many birds and squirrels who visited her backyard on a daily basis. Jean touched the hearts and lives of everyone she met over the years, and will always be remembered for her laughter, smiles, singing and sheer joy she brought into everyone's lives. The family will receive friends at J.J. Patterson & Sons Funeral Residence 19 Young Street, Welland on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.
