CAMERON, Sheila Josephine. 1928-2007. Sheila Josephine Cameron, beloved wife of Alexander Cameron of Calgary, passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2007 at the age of seventy-eight years. As the matriarch of the family, Sheila's greatest passion and endless love was her dedication to her husband, three children, and two grandchildren. Sheila will be remembered by all for her many talents which including cooking, entertaining, and limitless sewing abilities. Her loving heart will always be remembered. Besides her loving husband of fifty-seven years, Alex, Sheila is survived by three sons and three daughters-in-law, Jim and Anna, Alex and Janet, and Bill and Sandra; and two grandchildren Matthew and Christina. She is also survived by a sister, Muriel Doyle. Sheila was predeceased by a brother, Charles Rhind, and sister Maureen Gillard. CARVER, Eleanor (nee Wilkinson). Passed away February 4 after a courageous battle with cancer. She joins her husband Walter and daughter Linda who predeceased her. She leaves to grieve her two sons Douglas and James and his wife Marlene, and three grandsons. Brother James Wilkinson survives her, brother George and sister Elsie predeceased her. She is formerly of Verdun, Qc. and was a long-time resident of Fort Erie, Ontario. Her wishes were that there be no service. Cremation and burial will take place Tuesday, February 6, 2007. CHAPMAN, Bryson Elmore. Passed away peacefully in the hospital on February 4 in his seventy-seventh year. Sadly missed by his daughter Anna and husband John; by his son Tony, wife Ann and granddaughters Alexandra and Michaella; by his daughter Jane and her husband Bennett and grandchildren Evan and Mae; and by his daughter Melissa and partner Donovan. CURRIE, Constance Mary (Connie) nee Hoddinott It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Connie on February 3, 2007 at the Queensway Carleton Hospital as a consequence of a recent stroke. Connie was a much cherished and happily devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by Howard, her beloved husband of 58 years, her children; Nancy, Paul (Patty), Colleen (Tim), Claudia (George), Janet (Joe) and Ian (Catherine), her grandchildren; Lauren, Stacey, Jessica, Alexandra, Hannah, Brantford and Brooklyn, her sister Phyllis and her brother John (Wilma) of Winnipeg, and her nieces and nephews. As well as being dedicated to her family and friends, Connie was actively involved with youth and seniors' church groups, curling activities and in the creation of numerous beautifully crafted pieces in stained glass. Connie grew up in Manitoba and after graduation from Normal School (Teachers' College) taught in elementary schools before coming to Ottawa for employment in the public service. Connie and Howard traveled widely in Canada and through trips to England, Ireland and Scotland, they visited many ancestral places. After retirement they frequently vacationed in Portugal. In accordance with Connie's wishes there will be no visitation, she will be cremated and a private interment will take place at a later date. A Mass of Christian Funeral will be celebrated at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 153 Woodroffe Avenue, on Saturday February 10, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions to a charity of your choice would be appreciated. ZELMAN, Judith Peacefully, in hospital, on Saturday February 3, 2007, at the age of 39 years, after a brief battle with breast cancer. Beloved wife of Eron Main. Loving mother of Isaac and Susan. Judith will be missed by her parents Maier, Marion, Peggy, and the late Bill; her sister Margaret Law and brother Michael Zelman; and the Main family, Jon, Lynn, Teri, Bill and their families. Judith was passionate about wheelchair sports, representing Canada as an athlete at several Paralympic Games and world championships in athletics and wheelchair rugby. Following her retirement from competition she remained a committed volunteer in sport for athletes with a disability. Judith was a member of Girl Guides of Canada for over 30 years. She was also dedicated to her long career with the Canadian Security Intelligence Service, where she remained at work until the week of her death. May 8, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Camille and Euphemie LeBlanc. Alda grew up in Saint John, moving to Nova Scotia when she married her husband in 1946. Alda worked for 17 years as a clerk with MT&T and was also a member of the Waverley Legion for 30 years. She had many interests including swimming as well as bowling, where she played in several leagues and won many trophies. McLAREN, HILDA ELEANOR (NEE TULK McCLELLAND) - January 1st, 1918 - February 2nd, 2007. On February 2nd, 2007, Mrs. Hilda McLaren, of Edmonton, Alberta passed away peacefully in Millwoods Shepherd's Care Centre, at the age of 89 years. She was with family and friends when she died. She will be lovingly remembered by her three children, Susan McLaren (Dennis Burnside) of Castor, Barry McLaren (Dawn McArthur) of Calgary, Dr. Sherry McLaren (Dr. Paul Grewal) of Edmonton, and her beloved granddaughter, Brenna Grewal. Other surviving relatives include her sister, Laura (Hibbert Stuart); sisters-in-law, Ethel (Claude McLaren) and Beatrice (Ralph Tulk), as well as numerous nephews and nieces. Hilda was predeceased by her husbands, Major Jack McClelland and Col. Alexander Gray McLaren; her mother, Florence Gertrude Tulk (nee Pike); her father, Captain Frank Tulk; brothers, Aubrey, Ralph, and Max; as well as sisters, Blanche, Irene, and Marion. Hilda will be remembered for her elegance, charm, ability to teach bridge, and her excellence as a bridge player. She will be sadly missed by her family, students, and staff of Millwoods Shepherd's Care. At Hilda's request, she will be cremated. LAGACÉ, PIERRE "PIT" SR. - At the Edmundston Regional Hospital, January 24, 2007, Mr. Pierre "Pit" Lagacé Sr. of Grand Falls passed away at the age of 64 years. He was married to the former Claudette Godreau. Born at Saint-Leonard-Parent in 1942, he was a son of the late Alfred and Marthe (Martin) Lagacé. From an early age, Pit was well known for his athletic abilities. He and his brothers Gérald and Raymond, played hockey with the Saint André Canadiens when the arena was situated behind the school. They later joined the Perth Maroons in 1968, winning the Intermediate C Senior Provincial Hockey Championship. The following year as a member of The Grand Falls Cataracts, they captured the coveted L.H. Lajoie trophy as league champions in the Republican Hockey League - Grand Falls first league championship. In 1976, he joined "Les Brayons" hockey club. This team of local allstars played in National Oldtimers tournaments in Saint John, Fredericton, Ottawa, and Moncton. They also traveled to Florida in 1978 and 1980, participating in the Florida Classic Oldtimers Hockey Tournament. Between 1965 and 1982, he captured the Grand Falls Golf Club Championship award an unprecedented nine times. As a Member of the Grand Falls Cataracts Baseball team, he was the first pitcher to pitch a No-Hitter in the New Brunswick Senior Baseball League. He was also the team's shortstop and cleanup hitter for a number of years. He was a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Grand Falls council 2331. He worked most of his life in the service/parts departments of local car dealerships. From J. Clark & Son Ltd to in recent times Canadian Tire. Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons, Marcel (Erin MacDonald) of Fredericton, Louis (Julie) of Saint-André and Pierre Jr. (Anne Laforge) of Grand Falls, granddaughter, Chloé, two brothers, Raymond (Jacqueline) of Grand Falls and Gerald (Marise) of Drummond, sister-in-law, Aurore (late Roland) of Meriden, Connectucut, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Roland "Bee". His funeral was held Saturday, January 27th at 2 p.m. from the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, Grand Falls, with Father William Rice officiating, assisted by Father Lucien Levesque. Pallbearers were Robert, Michel, Guildo, Marco, Danny, Jerry Lagacé. Interment was in the Assumption Cemetery. Hedwig Maria Parow (née Schinner) January 19, 1917 - February 4, 2007 With sad hearts, surrounded by her family, suddenly on Sunday, February 4, 2007, Hedy passed away at the age of 90 to join her beloved husband Willi who predeceased her in 1995. Dear mother of Rosemary (Don) Dixon, Inge (John) Miller and Peggy (Peter) Sauchuk. Her memory of being a gentle heart will be greatly missed by three generations of 9 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. Hedy and Willi were long standing members of the Germania Club of Hamilton. Many thanks to the Acclaim Alzheimers Society of Burlington where Hedy spent many days with the care of those involved and the home care workers, Barb and Amanda, who came to her home to assist. With the loving care of her daughter Inge (John) Miller, our mother was able to spend her last years at her home in Burlington. HARVEY, Claude 1938 - 2007 À Montréal, le 5 février 2007, à l'âge de 68 ans, à l'hôpital du Sacré-Coeur de Montréal, est décédé paisiblement M. Claude Harvey, époux bien-aimé depuis 46 ans de madame Louise Bélanger, entouré de sa famille qu'il aimait tant. Né à Montréal le 24 août 1938. Il était le fils de feu Alfred Harvey et de feu madame Juliette Cloutier. Outre son épouse, il laisse dans le deuil ses enfants Paul, Marie-Claude (Martial Rivard), Sébastien (Monique Bureau), ses petits-enfants tant aimés Frédérique, Charles-Étienne, Marie-Pier et Christophe, son frère Jacques (Angèle Frédérique), sa soeur Monique, sa belle-mère Thérèse Bélanger Gauthier, ses beaux-frères et ses belles-soeurs, neveux et nièces, cousins et cousines, parents et amis. Il fit toutes ses études à l'Externat classique Ste-Croix et obtint son brevet d'enseignement à l'École Normale Jacques-Cartier. Diplômé des HEC, il consacra sa vie professionnelle pendant 33 ans dans l'éducation de la jeunesse dans différentes écoles auprès de la CECM. Au moment de son décès, il était marguiller de la paroisse St-André-Apôtre et membre actif de la Société St-Vincent-de-Paul de cette même paroisse. La famille accueillera parents et amis au le jeudi 8 février 2007 de 14 h à 17 h et de 19 h à 22 h et le vendredi 9 février de midi à 13 h 30. Les funérailles auront lieu le vendredi 9 février à 14 heures à l'église St-André-Apôtre, 10530, rue Waverly angle Prieur et de là au cimetière Notre-Dame-des-Neiges.
