Elle a également occupée différents postes au Foyer Sainte-Geneviève, au Centre Saint-Sacrement ainsi qu’à l’Université Laval. Membre de « Synchro Swimming Association of Canada » et présidente de « Royal Life Saving Society » ainsi que détentrice de plusieurs trophées, dont la traversée du fleuve Québec-Lévis (Lévis Tramways). HOLLOWAY, Margo (nee Stevens). 1943 - 2007. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Margo Holloway. With her family surrounding her, Margo went to join her mother Elizabeth, father James, brother-in-law Brian and her beloved brother Jimmy on Saturday, January 20, 2007, at the Charles Lemoyne Hospital. Margo will be dearly missed by all who knew her, but mostly by her best friend and husband of 35 years Harold. He will forever miss "His Maggie." Her children Cindy (Barry) and Christine (Mike) were her pride and joy and she will be greatly missed by her grandchildren, Max, Hannah and Nathan. Margo's surviving five siblings Jan (Brian), Hugh (Sandy), Susan (Jeff), Mara (Mark) and David (Pam) will always remember her for her quick wit, beautiful smile and willingness to always listen and help all people. Margo had many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly, and was especially close to Jimmy's children Jake and Haley Stevens. Margo will be missed by sisters-in-law Ethel, Phyllis (Charlie), Thelma and Vivian. Margo had many great friendships throughout the years, and shared countless memories with Bernie and Sharon Reid and Frank and Laurel Reid. A special thank you to Dr. Dubuc and his staff of the Palliative Care Unit of the Charles Lemoyne Hospital for their kind and compassionate care shown to Margo and her family. Also thanks to the Neurological unit for her time spent there. A funeral service will be held at the Verdun United Church, 650 Woodland Ave., Verdun, Qc, on Wednesday, January 24 at 11 a.m. The family will be in attendance at the church from 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation made to the Charles Lemoyne Hospital Foundation would be appreciated. KUTCHUK, Pierre Bedros. 1921-2007. Passed away peacefully, with dignity on January 19, 2007 at the Griffith McConnell Residence. He is survived by his cherished and devoted son, Michael and his wife Helene, loving granddaughters Genesa and Jade, caring sister Anahid Kucuk-Demiray and niece and nephews with their extended families. His love, gentleness and generosity will be dearly missed by all his family and friends. HANSEN, Delos Ross (Del) Gone to join Jean on Saturday, January 20th, 2007. Del was born to Albert and Bernice Hansen on August 5th, 1920 on a farm near Viscount, Saskatchewan. He began as an announcer at CFQC in Saskatoon before moving to the electronics side of radio, and then to wartime work monitoring enemy radio traffic. His career after that was in telecommunications research and engineering with the Department of National Defence. He was officer-in-charge of the Prince Albert (Saskatchewan) Radar Laboratory from 1958 to 1963, and retired in 1975. He was active in church activities throughout his life, including Young People's, choir, Sunday School teaching, men's associations, and service as an Elder. He worshipped at Viscount, Parkdale, Wesley, and Woodroffe United Churches, and at St. Paul's and Westminster Presbyterian. He taught a well-remembered Pastoral Care course in Ottawa for many years. Jean, his wife of 62 years, passed away last July. He is survived by three sons, Kirk (Mary-Anne), Kent (Eleanor), and Blair; grandson Scott; niece Maureen (Jim) Scott; and cousins in Western Canada. Friends may visit at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Avenue at Richmond Road, on Tuesday, January 23rd, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and after 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 24 until service time in the Chapel at 11:30 a.m. Reception to follow. Mae will be remembered for her high energy and her love of life. Born April 4th, 1922, in Saint John, Jean was the daughter of the late Lillian (Weatherhead) and Thomas Alexander. Jean was employed with NB Tel prior to starting her family. She was an active member of Carleton-Kirk Church and was a life long member of both the choir and the UCW. She was a wonderful wife, mother and Nan to her three grandchildren. She enjoyed any kind of travel but especially in the car and was always up ready to go. She was a kind and generous person to all she knew. She is survived by her husband, Donald E. GRANT, GEORGE MALCOLM - George Malcolm Grant, of Riverview,NB passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Friday January 19th, 2007 surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Aberdeen Scotland, he was the son of the late George and Edith (Smith) Grant. He was a graduate of The Robert Gordon College, Aberdeen; George came to Canada in 1958. He was the general manager of MFM Industries and MFM Clemmer. He was a life member, and past president of The Metal Workers Association. George enjoyed the many trips he and his wife Helen made to Aberdeen Scotland to visit family and friends; also he had much enjoyment with family at his cottage on Kennebecasis Island. Left with fond memories are his wife of 46 years, Helen E. (Whitebone); sons, Steven at home, David and his wife, Kimberlee of Riverview; grandchildren, Laura and Callum of Riverview; brother-in-law, Peter Whitebone and his wife, Carolyn, and Pat DaSilva both of Saint John, NB; also by several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his step mother, Charlotte (Black) Grant in 2005; sister, Edith Taylor in 1994; brother in law, Jack Taylor in 2004; step brother, Alastair Black in 2003. FERRIS, MARY - the death of Mary M. Ferris, widow of William J. Ferris, occurred at Rocmaura Nursing Home on Saturday, January 20th, 2007. Mrs. Ferris was born in Saint John, a daughter of the late William and Caroline (Harris) Bridgeo. She was a lifelong member of the Cathedral Catholic Women's League. Mary was predeceased by a brother, Robert. She is survived by four sons, John (Beth) of Quispamsis, Thomas (Anne) of Waverley, N.S., James (Jennifer) of Concord, Mass., and Brian of Rothesay; two daughters, Mary Best (Steven) of Townsend, Mass., and Dianne Hodge (Ken) of Quispamsis; one brother, Dr. William Bridgeo (Margaret) of Halifax; 20 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. ECCLESTON, FREDERICK - of Anderson Road passed away at St. Joseph Hotel Dieu Hospital on Friday, January 19th, 2007. Born in Three Brooks on September 20th, 1938, he was the son of the late Leslie and Elva (Kinney) Eccleston. He leaves behind his wife, Doreen Delores Eccleston (Fraser); his daughters, Linda (Tim) Linton of Linton Corner, Cheryl (Kevin) Paris of Anfield, Janet (Jamis) Rioux of New Denmark; his sons, Ronald (Margie), Brian (Theresa), Donald (Cindy), all of Anderson Road; his sisters, Norena Davidson of Anderson Road, Dolly Powers (Frank) of Plaster Rock, Elzena Page (Paul) of Tilley, Donna Sawyer (William) of Perth-Andover; his brother, Bob (Betty) Eccleston of Anderson Road; 15 grandchildren; and one great grandson. Fred was predeceased by his parents; his sister, Rose Eccleston; his brothers, Frank and Harold Eccleston. Fred enjoyed his daily walks with his dogs, Tippy and Jake. He also enjoyed going four-wheeling, the family gatherings, and playing cards, bingo, and his guitar. BELYEA, STEPHEN MALCOLM 'MAC' It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Stephen Malcolm 'Mac' Belyea, of Saint John, NB, on Sunday, January 21st, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, with Sylvia and his loving family by his side. He was the only son of the late Harry Byron and Mary Loretta (Garnett) Belyea. Survived by his loving wife, Sylvia (McFarlane) of 37 years; mother-in-law, Marjorie (McFarlane) Goguen and Leo Goguen; three brothers-in-law, David, Douglas and Larry McFarlane and their families; sister-in-law, Irene McFarlane; his godchildren, Andrew McFarlane, Craig McRae, Davina McFarlane; and several cousins, nieces and nephews; special great-nieces, Alisha and Jennifer; special little ones, Connor, Chloe, Owen and Noah and many cherished friends. He was a member of All Saints Anglican Church, Park Avenue. Malcolm retired after 37 years with the Canadian National Railway, Saint John, NB. Malcolm enjoyed "Life" to the fullest, so brave through his illness, caring and kind, he was cherished by his family and friends. Mac and Sylvia enjoyed and appreciated their wide circle of family and friends. Mac enjoyed fishing, trips to Miramichi "Molasses Hill Lodge," dancing, books and good conversation. He enjoyed the outdoors, gardening and traveling. He was a member of the CN Pensioners' Association, Hammond River Angling Association, Ducks Unlimited, Beaus and Belles Square Dancing, Hampton Mixed League Bowling. THIEMANN, LARRY J. -the death of Larry J. Thiemann occurred at his residence, 18 Harding St., on Saturday, January 20th, 2007. Larry was born in Geraldton, Ont., a son of the late Alois and Marion (Anderson) Thiemann, and had resided the greater part of his life in Saint John. He had served with the Royal Canadian Navy before returning to Saint John, where he was a tender diver at Canaport and a cost accountant with Foster Wheeler. He later operated Orange St. Variety and Green Stamp Exchange. At the time of his death he was an apartment building operator. He is survived by one son, Ryan Thiemann of B.C.; one daughter, Laura Thiemann of Saint John; one brother, David (Cindy) of Saint John; two nieces, Natasha and Salena Thiemann; and his special friend, Debbie Green. Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Monday, January 22nd, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Laurie E. Langille Laurie Everett Langille, 89, of Moncton, passed away on Friday, January 19th, 2007 after waging a long and determined struggle against declining health. Born in Truro, NS, Laurie was the eldest son of Arthur and Jessie (Smith) Langille. Laurie was enlisted in and served with the Royal Canadian Army throughout the 2nd World War, achieved the rank of Warrant Officer. For him, the railroad was the family business so he spent his working life with the CNR and continued to advance professionally, becoming Certified Management Accountant in 1966. When he retired in 1980, he was Chief Accountant for CN Marine in Moncton. Afterwards, he continued to stay active providing accounting services to small businesses in the Moncton area. Laurie was a longstanding, contributing member of Mountain View United Church. A good man, if he is also a modest man, may never know the effects he has on others. But they will know and that will be his most enduring legacy. Until his last days, Laurie lived his life with dignity, intelligence, humour and a gentle and generous spirit. As a man, he continued to grow in the esteen of his family and friends and will always be remembered by them with deep affection and admiration. Laurie will be sadly missed by his wife, Enid (Brittain); sons, Christopher (Nancy) of Tide Head and Richard (Mary Anna) of Halifax, NS; daughter, Nancy of Halifax, NS; and grandchildren, Clifford (Susanne) and Martha of Halifax, NS, and Scott of Tide Head. Predeceased by his brothers, Gerald, James, Avis, and Arnold. The immediate family would like to thank the many relatives and good friends who have been so kind and supportive to them. Julia Fillmore SACKVILLE, NB - The death of Julia Fillmore, age 76, of Sackville occurred suddenly at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Sunday, January 21st, 2007. Born in Saint John, NB, she was a daughter of the late Alan and Julia (Boss) Reidpath. Julia was an avid antique collector and seller for over 50 years. She was well known in the antique world and auction circuits. She had the first yard sale in Eastern Canada in 1973. Julia will be sadly missed by two sons, Larry (Coralie), Point de Bute, and Brent (Terry), Edmonton, AB; two daughters, Frances (Kenny), Fredericton, NB and Nancy (Mark) Schneider, Kamloops, BC; nine grandchildren, Chris (Jessica), Jeff, Cassandra, Sean, Kenny (Gail), Danny (Sari), Nancy (Brent), Jamie (Sarah) and Zane; four great grandchildren, Tyler, Amanda, Matthew and Joshua; two brothers, Merrin (Irene), Main River, NB and Vernon (Mary), Rexton, NB; two sisters, Olga (Bill) Chivers, Burlington, ON and Alaine (Victor) Bastow, White Rock, BC; and over 50 nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Ken in 2005; and by brothers, Raymond and Eric; and by her sister, Yvonne. Willis DesRoches 1926 - 2007 Willis DesRoches, 80, of Melanson Road, passed away on Saturday, January 20th, 2007, at his residence. Born in North Bedeque, PE, he was the son of the late Arthur and the late Denise (née Arsenault) DesRoches. Mr. DesRoches had retired from Swift Meats after 32 years. He also operated a farm and had a passion for antiques and flea markets. Robert John Cunningham 1928 – 2007 The death of Bob Cunningham, 78, of Moncton, NB, occurred Friday January 19th, 2007 at the Protem Residential Care Facility, Gorge Road Moncton. Born in Shediac, he was the son of the late Clarence and Edith (Chappell) Cunningham. He worked in the Ontario area for many years until he retired and moved back to Shediac. Bob is survived by his sister, Shirley (Ernest Leger) of Oshawa; his brother, David (Joan) of Aurora; his brother-in-law, Vince Paschal (Lia) of Oakville, and many nieces and nephews. Lévis Vaillancourt et de feu Mme Gilberte Gauthier, demeurant au 3795 de Belfort, Jonquière. La famille accueillera les parents et ami(e)s à compter de 9 h le lundi 22 janvier 2007 à la résidence funéraire Gravel & Fils, Réseau Dignité 825, Bégin (coin des Champs-Élysées) Chicoutimi Une célébration de la parole aura lieu le lundi 22 janvier 2007 à 11 h à la chapelle de la Résidence funéraire. Il laisse dans le deuil ses frères: Jean Vaillancourt (Christiane Martin), Alain (Marina Martel), Bernard (Ellen Vaillancourt); ses neveux et nièces: Julie, Josée, David, Mathieu, Xavier, Sévérin; ses arrière-neveux et nièces: Vincent, Noémie et Simon-Olivier; ses oncles et tantes ainsi que des personnes très chers pour lui: Gaétan St-Pierre (Linda Bérubé) et Yannick Bilodeau, qui l’ont accompagné et soutenu pendant plusieurs années. Jacob Traverse July 04, 1936 - January 21, 2007 Suddenly on January 21, 2007, our Dad, Jacob Traverse of Lake St. Martin First Nation passed away at the age of 70 years. Dad leaves to mourn his wife, Christine (nee: Gabriel); his daughter, Melanie; his son’s, Carl (Luana), Syles (Rhonda), Jason (Arlene) and Dwayne; his grandchildren, Marshall, Adam, Travis, Tristan, Reanna, Jaylon, Shania, Sarah, Merdina, Carl, Natalie, Carter, Chancellor and Nevis; his great-grandsons, Timothy, Garrett, Zachary and Adam; his brother, Mark Traverse; his sisters, Bertha Sumner, Evangeline Traverse and Edith Gagen. Dad was predeceased by his daughters, Marilyn Maud and Melvina Mae Traverse; his grand-daughter, Leanna; his brothers, David, Alex and Harry; his sister, Elizabeth and by his parents, Victor and Emma Traverse. Dad was a fisherman for so many years and taught his son’s how to fish at a young age. He built his own house and enjoyed taking care of his yard and driving his riding lawn mower around. Dad loved going to church, and really loved it when his grandchildren would come and visit him. He had a nickname for every one of them. A wake service will be held on Wednesday, January 24th, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 25th, 2007 at 12:00 p.m. Both services will be held at the Lake St. Martin Pentecostal Church with Rev. Robert McLean officiating. Interment will follow at the Lake St. Martin Cemetery. Alex Mitchell It is with sadness that we announce the death of Alex Mitchell on January 21, 2007 in Winnipeg, Manitoba at 98 years of age. Alex was predeceased by his beloved wife; Mary, sons; John and Tony Sr., daughters; Alice and Florence, grandchildren; Taylor, William Franklin Jr., Howard Bruce Jr. and Colin Bruce; two great grandchildren; Drayden and Thomas Mitchell, father; James Muswagon, mother; Annie Muswagon, stepfather and stepmother; Miles Michell and Adelaide Michell, sisters; Mary York, Betsy Sanders, and Jane Muswagon, brother; William James Hart, stepbrother; Leonard Mitchell Sr, and stepsister; Irene Franklin. He is survived by his children; Robert Sr. (Mavis), Edith (Howard), James (Salina), Francis (Iona), Fredderick (Bunny), Alfred (Pearl), Walter (Sharon), Robert Jr. (Judy), Iona (Francis), Allen (Irene), and Randy (Jane). Irene Anna Govereau March 14, 1939 - January 21, 2007 With family at her bedside, God sent His best angel for our Mom (Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister) to make sure she made it home. With mixed emotions we said “Goodbye”. We are sad to see her go, but happy that she is going to be reunited with Dad. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial service will be held at Bethel Chapel 200 Main Street, in Selkirk, Manitoba at 7:00 p.m. January 24, 2007. Prayers and fellowship will be held at Dallas Community Gospel Fellowship, Dallas, Manitoba on Friday, January 26, 2007, at 7:30 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. also at the Dallas Community Gospel Fellowship.
