Age 68 years of Gardner Avenue, Cornwall, Ontario. Beloved wife of the late Lionel Villeneuve. Dear mother of Diane (Mrs. Richard Belanger) of Long Sault and Pierre Villeneuve (Kathy Eudy) of Cornwall. Dear sister of Laurent Cameron (Madeleine) of Boisbriand, Quebec, Gerald Cameron (Denise), Hawkesbury, Jean Cameron of Cornwall, Edmond Cameron (Suzanne) of Vankleek Hill, Michel Cameron of Alexandria, Muriel (Mrs. Ron Livock) of Lagan, Ontario, Maureen Duval (Gaetan) of Hawkesbury, Kathy (Mrs. Rock Myre) of Hawkesbury and Nancy (Mrs. Daniel Cousineau) of Gatineau, Quebec. Dear sister-in-law of Diane Cameron. Also survived by five grandchildren, Angela, Ryan, Christopher, Anthony and Kaela, and seven great-grandchildren. Army, Captain INF RES) Passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 5, 2006 at Toronto General Hospital at the age of 90. Beloved husband of Elena Cacho Almeda for 69 years. BROWN, Margaret Rose (nee Wootton) Born: December 24, 1919 Margie, beloved wife of the late Sefton Brown, returned to the Source on Thursday, November 2, 2006. Margaret leaves behind an admiring and grateful family, who were in awe of her amazing courage, determination, resourcefulness, creativity, abiding love of nature and delightful sense of humour. She will be held forever in the hearts of her children: June Driscoll (Ron), Dorothy Brown (Nelson, BC), Bob Brown (Carol), Sally Simeon (Calgary, AB), Jack Brown (Riemke), and Ernie Brown (Mary); grandchildren: Rob and Joe Driscoll, Amber-Dawn Bear Robe, Shelley and Sefton Brown, Christopher Big Plume (Tania) and Crystal Big Plume (Richard), Jamie Brown (predeceased), Shawla Gallant (Rick); step grandchildren: Ray and Roxanne Lalonde; great grandchildren: Edward Gallant, Tiffani and Trenten Big Plume-Whitney. OBITUARY YUTSAN JOAN LILLIAN LEE 1943-2006 Cherished daughter of the late Fred and Vivian Lee of Shawinigan, Quebec, sister to Fred "Ol Twitter" Kenneth Lee of Montreal, Mei-sheng "Pilly" Shirley Shanks of Victoria, B.C. and Doris Wells of Smith Falls, Ontario. She adored and was much loved by her family who spent precious time by her side until her peaceful passing. Mei-sheng was devoted to making her life happy and comfortable during the difficult journey over the last year. She respected and had deep affection for her brother-in-law, David Shanks. She was blessed with two wonderful nephews, Ryan Lee Shanks, and her god-son, Tristan Lee Shanks, who married Sandy, a warm, affectionate and elegant lady. Sandy referred to her as "Auntie" and this always pleased her immensely. Ryan bore a son, Connor Lee Shanks-Sim, of whom she grew very fond. She loved animals, in particular her brother's cats, Tommy II, Paws and Tubby, who brought joy and laughter into her life. She was an Air Canada flight attendant from 1965 to 2006 and was very proud of the longevity of service. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Burt Wells, her niece Joyce and husband David, grand-nephew Thomas and grand-niece, Julia. She particularly enjoyed the fun times she had with Joyce in the 70's and in spite of the difference in their ages, she loved the time they spent together. Her friends were special and deeply cherished. Special thanks goes to the Doctors, the Montreal General Hospital 10 East Palliative Care Unit Team, CLSC Metro and the Contactivity team for the extraordinary attention and care they provided over the last year of her life. BROWN, Howard Allison Passed away at Wakefield on November 9, 2006 following a lengthy illness at the age of 85 years. Howard is survived by step-daughter Kaarina Welch and step-grandson Eric Welch both of Ottawa; two sisters, Doreen Perrigo (Victoria) and Shirley Hutter (Calgary); three brothers, Dalton Brown (Gracefield), John Walker (Victoria) and Dale Walker (Calgary). Howard was predeceased by his wife Doris and sister (Gwen). He was born in Ottawa and grew up in Wright Que. He joined the armed forces at an early age and served with the Irish Regiment of Canada in Italy where he was taken prisoner and held in Germany. Following his discharge from the armed forces, he was employed at Atomic Energy of Canada in Chalk River and later worked in the lumber industry until his retirement. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends, Dalton, Jo-Anne and family, Kaarina and Alva for the assistance they provided Howard over the past few years. BROWN, Vernon Howard The heart of a lion has stopped beating. It is with great sadness that we announce that Vernon, born in Cantley, Quebec August 8, 1914, passed away in White Rock, B.C. Friday, November 3, 2006. Vernon is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Catherine, daughter Valerie (John McKay), grandsons Jordan and Joel McKay, sister Velma (Bob White), brother Neville and many nieces and nephews. Vernon was predeceased by his son Ian and brothers Warren and Dana. Vernon proudly served overseas with the Canadian Army from 1942 to 1945. After the War, he returned to work for Gatineau Power in Chelsea, which later amalgamated with Hydro Quebec. He remained with Hydro until his retirement in 1978. Between 1945 and 2003, Vernon and Cathie lived in Chelsea, Cantley and Ottawa. In 2003 they located to B.C. to be near Valerie and John. Vernon will be remembered most for his honesty, loyalty, generosity and wonderful sense of humour. The family would like to thank the Department of Veteran's Affairs for their great assistance and support during Vernon's later years. BYRON, Charles John Passed away at the Ottawa General Hospital on Thursday, November 9, 2006, at the age of 68, after a brief battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving wife Janis and siblings Louise, Barbara, Linda and William. DRUMMOND, Dorothy (nee Patterson) March 25, 1915 - November 9, 2006 It is with great sadness that our family announces the death of our beloved "Matriarch", Dorothy Drummond, at the age of 91. Dorothy passed away suddenly at home, with family by her side. A long time public servant, Dorothy dedicated many years of service to both the Defence Research Board and the Department of National Defence. Every other moment was dedicated to her family. She is predeceased by her husband John (Jack) Drummond and siblings Leonard (Pat), Margaret (Peggy), Howard, Kathleen (Kaye) and Robert (Bob). She is survived by her loving brother Arthur (Art) and her sons Jack (Elvie), Lance (Joan) and Donald (Nancy). "Nana" is also survived by her grandchildren Teresa (Tim), Jeffrey (Jocelyn), Richard and Leslie, Susan, and Sandra (Ron) and great-grandchildren Jennifer (Andrew) and Jeffrey, Edward and Jack, James, Sophia and Alexandra and her great-great-grandchild Callum. Nana is also survived by many, many loving nieces, nephews and cherished friend Donna Drummond (Alph). Nana's quiet strength, thoughtfulness and unparalleled dignity provided guidance, unconditional love and a judgement free environment in which we felt comforted, advised and loved. Her ability to function, adapt and be hip in new generations with changing issues was always cherished and was a testament to her love and support of family. There was truly no end to the love and support she gave to every member of her family and it will not be replaced. HALKAI, Maria (nee Edes) Maria passed away peacefully on November 8, 2006 at St. Vincent Hospital at the age of 70. This loving, caring and courageous woman fled her native Hungary during the Hungarian Revolution to start a new life in Canada. Maria is predeceased by her parents, Andras and Rosalia (nee Kovacs) Edes and her sister Rosalia Jambrik and leaves behind fond memories for her other sister Erzsebet Illes. Her memory will be cherished by her loving family: husband Tibor, their three children Marianna Halkai, Errol Halkai and Chris (Jennifer) Halkai and by Maria's four grandchildren, Kyle Roots, Ryan Halkai, Evan Halkai and Ella Halkai. HAMILTON, Mark John 1985 - 2006 Mark Hamilton, beloved son of Chris and John of Calgary, passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2006 at the age of 21 years. Mark was born on September 7, 1985 in Calgary, AB. He received his education at Janet Johnson Elementary School, Robert Warren Jr. High, and Dr. E.P. Scarlett High School graduating in 2003. Mark was a very compassionate and caring individual who always placed the needs of others above his own. He was very active in Kamp Kiwanis and Silver Creek Ranch for Kids, he was also involved in the Big Brother program. Mark was an athletic trainer with the Foothills Soccer Club. He loved music, skiing, hiking and being outdoors with his family and friends. Besides his loving parents, Chris and John, Mark is survived by his brother Paul; girlfriend and best friend Jenn Barnes; grandmother; as well as a large extended family in England and numerous friends. HARRIS, Albert Stickney "Stick" June 20, 1921 - November 3, 2006 After graduating high school and business school in New Brunswick Stick volunteered for the RCAF in 1940, serving in both the European and Pacific theatres of war. From Sri Lanka, during his second Asian tour of duty, he volunteered in the retaking of Burma, serving with distinction until felled by malaria. He was repatriated as a Flt. Lieutenant to Canada, then sent to Pacific Command in Victoria, B.C. where he met and married wife Joyce (nee Woodburn). Together they had a family of four boys. Stick then built a very successful piano department for Eatons in Western Canada before going on his own to found Jerome's Music Centre in the Lower Mainland and Calgary. He passionately enjoyed golf, travel and friends, particularly over the past twenty years as a "snow bird" in Palm Desert, California. Dad was very sociable and outgoing and a great, thoughtful, caring and helpful friend and father. He was predeceased by son Rick, sister Dorothy, brother Warren and favourite sister-in-law Darlaine Woodburn and survived by wife Joyce, sons, Ron (Langley), Ray (Edmonton), and Robin (Calgary) as well as sisters, Vella Trapani, Edith Tomlinson and Lorna Ullock (all of New Brunswick), grandson Fraser, and numerous nephews and nieces. Stick will be sorely missed by his family and friends including those of the Gyro Club, Point Grey Golf & Country Club and former comrades in the Pacific Theatre. We are very grateful for the compassionate care given our father and husband by the wonderful nurses and staff at Richmond General Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the above hospital in Stickney's name. We will announce a Celebration of Stick's life in the spring of 2007 to be held at Point Grey Golf & Country Club.

HASTON, Freda May (nee Pritchard) October 30, 1927 - November 9, 2006 Freda, beloved wife of Campbell, was predeceased by her son-in-law Ken and is survived by her children, Wendy (Ricky), Sheena (Ken), Ian (Joan) James; grandchildren, Sarah and Iain; sisters, Betty and Maisie; and numerous nephews and nieces. Freda had an interesting life. During the war she danced with ENSA in theatres and military bases all over the British Isles. On one of those bases she met her husband Campbell and became a navy wife. Like all military wives, while Campbell was on active service, Freda was often left to raise three energetic children alone, which was no easy task. Later they travelled together as a family, with James, the youngest, born in New Zealand. After ten years in South Africa, they decided to spend their retirement years in Canada to be near their grandchildren. During this time Freda and Campbell drove the length and breadth of North America in the "wagon". Freda was never happier than when she was packing for a trip. Even though well travelled, she was thrilled when her husband surprised her with a trip to Hawaii for their Fiftieth Anniversary, and secretly hoped that they could repeat the experience on their sixtieth. It was not to be. The family would like to thank the emergency room and cardiac staff at the Foothills Hospital for their compassion and care. He will be fondly remembered by 17 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. Dear brother of Ernest of Astorville, Harvey (Pat) of Powasson, Theresa Gaudreault, Alice Carriere, Corinne Passmore all of North Bay and Juliette Carriere of Kitchener. Predeceased by his parents Oscar Guillemette and Mary Cook , brothers Joseph, Robert and a sister Caroline Guillemette. ROWLANDSON (nee Kersey): Flora Edith - Passed away peacefully at the North Bay General Hospital - Scollard Site, on Friday, November 10, 2006. Flora was the beloved wife of the late Evered Wharton Rowlandson (died May 1988), she was in her 91 years. Predeceased by her parents Lillian & Harry Kersey and by her sister Rita May Kersey (September 1997). She will be dearly remembered by her dear friend Edna Boileau of North Bay. Flora was an active and long-time member of the First Baptist Church. She was a former resident of the Empire Living Centre and then Leisureworld Caregiving Centre. Visitation will be held in the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME on Monday, November 13th from 1:00 PM until time for the Funeral Service in the Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 PM. She will be laid to rest beside her husband at the North Bay Union Cemetery.

OBITUARY CAPTAIN PATRICK N. BOLGER Died peacefully at home in Perth, Ontario, on November 9, 2006 in his 98th year. A native of New Ross, Co. Wexford, Ireland, Pat began his career as an apprentice deck officer with Watts Watts Steamship Company with which he remained until 1943 when he accepted employment with the Park Steamship Company. He was one of the youngest ship masters to be given a command in the British Merchant Navy. He served throughout the Second World War in the Merchant Navy and acted as commodore on voyages to Murmansk and Archangel in Northern Russia to ensure the provision of supplies to the Soviet people and military. He also served in the campaign to liberate Italy during the invasion of Sicily. Pat was a long-time employee of McLean Kennedy Inc. having commenced his career ashore as marine superintendent in 1944 and retiring as Vice-president Operations. He also was intimately involved in the establishment of the Brunterm Container Terminal in Saint John, New Brunswick and at the time of his retirement was a Vice-president and director of Brunterm. Pat will be remembered for his deep commitment to the Merchant Navy and the steamship industry in general and his devotion to several charitable organizations, including Mariners House of Montreal, the successor of the Catholic Sailors Club, which he served as President in 1965-67. Pat was predeceased by his one and only true love to whom he was devoted, Helen Bruce Orr and will be missed tremendously by his loving children Aidan (Georgette), Honor, Jeremy (Wendy) and Christopher (Lorraine) and his adoring grandchildren Samantha, Ashley, Michael and Claire.
